My inspiration 🥺💜
Ima be 100% honest here. I love Brandy’s tone. I find it to be very unique. However I always felt like that vocal bible stuff came from Brandy herself or one of her fans and they used Stacy Barthe to publicly say it. Maybe left some comments under Stacy’s picture or some and she ran with it. I can see her being a fan of Brandy’s and being appreciative of the opportunity to work with her and just oversold Brandy’s as opposed to her experience working with Brandy. Either way opinions are just that, opinions. There’s a difference in one’s sound and one’s voice. There’s plenty of vocalists from Brandy’s era alone that I would give that title to…Lauryn Hill, Beyoncé, Tamia, Toni Braxton, Deborah Cox, Kelly Price, & hell even Monica on a good day especially in her earlier years! Her voice has wayy more versatility that Brandy’s and I’m not just referring to Monica’s range. Nonetheless I still can appreciate Brandy’s contribution & efforts to R&b music. I think Brandy is an Icon because of her career as a whole but not because of her vocals.
Smh....stupid, hateful comment
You been pressed about Brandy for years. This idea that Brandy or “one of her fans” had Stacy Barthe (a renowned musician, songwriter and producer) call her the “Vocal Bible” is so silly. So ALL these other singers in the industry who share the same sentiments are just in on this ploy to overhype Brandy?
@@nopebihpressed? Not at all. I just speak facts & live in reality. Try it
Well too bad if you type in “vocal bible” on google she comes up so the title is solidified to her name & has been for years, she actually never refers to herself as it but several of her peers do so…
@@nopebihit’s probably because under a video I saw him try and call Monica the “vocal Bible” like 11 years ago and now he sees she isn’t and probably feels a certain way😭🙄
Awesome 👍 sky's the Limit 👌

Thee VOCAL BIBLE!🙏🏽💙
I love this ❤️
Til this day my favorite scream queen from I still know what you did last summer and my favorite album Never Say Never 🖤🙏🏾
keke i love u but really hahaha lol
Britney loves brandy aswell
I'll get flack for saying this, but I don't really 👂 what everyone else 👂. She's good but the vocal Bible should have went to the Voice. I love some of her songs but vocally she is just okay for me.
That’s the point. It takes a trained ear and a student of voice to hear what makes her great. She’s definitely Whitney’s successor.
The Vocal Bible title is bigger than just singing. It's about influence on the music industry as well. Brandy's vocals are studied...Not just the singing of the lyrics, but also her tone, vocal arrangement, vocal placement, harmony, rhythm, nuances, riffs, and runs. Her influence is across multiple genres of music still to this day. She influenced the way artists started to sing and record with vocal layering and stacking. She also started the trend of vibey music. They literally made categories of contemporary R&B and alternative R&B because of her. Just turn on your radio and you will hear her influence in pop, r&b, hip hop, and gospel still to this day from what she did in the late 90s and 2000s.
I love when she sings low it's such a beautiful tone
What was the song at 6:08?
Was it something’s missing?
That is from Brandy’s second duet with Monica “It All Belongs To Me”
What was the song at 4:16?
“Should I Go”
👑👑👑👑👑👑👑💃
5:04?
The song is called “Dig This” it’s on Meet The Browns soundtrack.
Should I go is prolly my fav song of all because it’s just ugh 😩❤️
That Beyonce statement thou yessssssss......Brandy is everything
They say brandy don't know how to blow bullshit.
I'm a huge fan of Brandy as well
The term "vocal bible" is not referring to skill alone. I think some people have it confused and then just start naming great singers as if others are more deserving of the title. Vocal Bible refers to Brandy's level of influence as it relates to other vocalists. Her voice and her style has completely permeated the music industry from the beginning of her existence. Vocalists...some of the best to ever do it have cited her being among their biggest vocal influences. And her influence transcends age, genre, race, etc. All types of artists study her and the way she sings. I think India Arie says it best...I'm just adding my 2 cents!!
What’s the song at 4:23?
Ima love b rocka forever
Of course she's the vocal bible. The term wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Brandy.
I love Brandy.....but ARETHA FRANKLIN is the VOCAL BIBLE.
For her generation, she is. Vocalists who are inspired by her gave her that nickname.
She's the queen of soul stop misappropiating Brandy's title

CHILLS
w8.........ya'll must be tone deaf....MONICA HAS A VOICE....!! BRANDY just sounds hoarse!! gtfoh....she's ok...but damn don't hype her up like that....braxton...whitney...Debra cox.....!!! now those are singers...tell me I'm wrong!
TheRogue I can't hear a voice on Monica anymore since she always slurs her words and come across like queen of the ghetto.
+Gregory Thomas notice how all of u only comment about monica...is monica so nice that u have jealously towards her? oooorrrrrrrr just mad at the fact that she DID give up singing for a family life. tho she still sings on occasion. Granted her voice NOW isnt as good as it was back then but Brady's ain't that great either with YOUR dumb azz!
Rogue Gaming Monica. Can never touch brandy ever!! In her wildest dreams ur tone deaf as fuk! If she could. These people would be praising her voice but they don't Stop the foolishness brandys voice has layers and many styles. Not just being raspy
Sweetie Monica does have a great voice! But when it comes to tone riffs, runs, textures, harmonies, instrumental use of her vocals and that fact that she can sing jazz, gospel, r&b, pop I'm sorry love clearly Brandy is the better singer <3
Corey Wells Monica had a voice in the 90s even then it was pretty basic looking back.
She's so amazing yet so underrated, this music industry is FUCKED!!!!
I always thought brandy wasnt that good until you hear her sing without music. I think the music drowns out a lot of her riffs.
The music doesn't drown her out, Brandy uses her voice as an instrument and blends with the music. This is why she puts most of her emphasis and detail in her background vocals.
@@nicim3730 man the background vocals be everything
Lol@ music drowns out a lot of her riffs... Lololol. A lot of her riffs are an extension of what is going on in the music so she is adding her voice as another "instrument"...when she does this she is not singing the "lead" vocal, it is another element of her background vocals. Its supposed to be in the back! Lol
To me Rachelle Ferrell is the vocal bible, but Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Coko from SWV, Brandy, Kelly Price, Christina Aguilera, & KeKe Wyatt ALL have their own BOOKS in it lol
sinematic06 and faith evans
Precisely, and you have to add Lalah Hathaway too!!
And subtract xtina and mimi But add chante moore
Its about influence. You are naming singers that havent influenced anything. Rachelle Ferrell is a master vocalist at what she does but she hasn't influenced the music industry. Brandy has still to this day. Her vocals and vocal arrangements are studied. Artists changed the way they record music because of her. They used to list the background singers in the album/tape/ cd covers. Once Brandy came into her own as an artist and was arranging, stacking, and layering her own backgrounds, that became a trend for other artists to do as well. They didn't have to hire background singers anymore!
@@nicim3730 the only person I named that doesn’t have a huge influence is KeKe Wyatt. Jennifer Hudson, Anita Baker, Ledisi all bow down to Rachelle. And Brandy did do those things but Janet pioneered that stacking background vocals and arranging as well before Brandy. Amerie said she learned how to stack her vocals by recording herself multiple times on cassette tapes because of Janet. But again I think all those ladies were very influential. Mariah & Whitney don’t even need any explanation. That doesn’t mean I disagree with what you said about Brandy tho. And my original comment had some humor in it too by me saying the other singers I named might not be the entire vocal Bible but they got some books in it lol
"Lost in the middle of nowhereeeeee" what song is that?
East Coast Shahaad "Acapella" off of Human
Acapella (somethings missing)- human album..my JAM
Keke Palmer said she sounds like Brandy. lol
lol my face when i heard that baby you cannot sing sooooo where are you getting at lol
@danielle LMAO... hilarious but no Keke has a nice voice, no she sounds nothing like brandy but she has a nice voice lol..........
Phillip W. yes. I agree that she can sing for real but she sounds nothing like Brandy. Brandy's runs are incredible.
y'all ...wats the name of the song of 4:40
