Hostel is his masterpiece! I have gone to just about all of his movies. Some are better than others, but I always have a good time. Death Wish was a worthy update of the classic, Charles Bronson would agree..I think? 😄 Green Inferno was superb! Everyone in the theater when I went, was disturbed by the big guy's dismemberment. You could just sense the uneasiness. 🤢 Thanksgiving was a lot of fun, while not my favorite. The best part for me, is when the security guard bought it. 🤣😂

Great movie. It’s weird that so few really understand Franco films. They are deeper than most see.

I agree with Franco/Fassbinder comparison. I always thought they gave same raw feeling to them, fast paced minimalistic, almost stage play setup, handmade, almost vulgar, but clever.

I feel the same way, I have pretty much collected everything I want now on VHS, LaserDisc, DVD and Blu-ray (no 4Ks), these hundreds and hundreds of movies and TV shows at my age (58), why should I even care about 'upgrading' any of that when a good Blu-ray player will upscale it to look pretty darn good. Not enough time left to watch it all anyway, have a ton of favorites that I rewatch all the time somehow that's good enough... ;-]

This movie really gave me the willies. After seeing it I was afraid to turn the light off when I went to bed.

It has some of the same cast and also includes Christopher Lee...This is the movie in which Rene Chateau first meet Franco

I like the new graphics. Really interesting backstory to this film, I didn't know that about the effects. This is a very graphic film by Jess's usual standards. It's great to see two icons, Brigitte Lahaie and Caroline Munro share scenes! Agree with you about the ending too!

This was the first Franco I ever saw, about 40 years ago, and it was too weird for me. Strangely, the shortcomings - the tatty make-up jobs, incoherent story and Dennis Price's performance - are the main reasons I love it now. I agree Howard Vernon is really good as Dracula - but what became of the wolfman, and how come no-one really noticed Britt Nichols's fabulous vampire? Welcome back, it's great to have another Franco Friday!

Hey there my friend. I know this is an older review, but I was hoping you get let me know if the transfers of the films are serviceable. I know they're shot on video movies on DVD, but would they be better on blu ray?

Nice to hear from you. You're channel is one of my faves on YT, so fingers crossed for reviews in the future. Agree about the 4K, I was happy with blu. But I'm a weaker man than you and buy quite a few upgrades... Will check out you're other channel. I enjoy betting, but mostly on swedish hockey and english football/soccer. As a swede, I have to admit I don't even fully understand baseball but the culture around it seem fascinating.

Yeah, I wondered what happened to your channel. I have always enjoyed your content, particularly missed your annual October horror challenge. I agree 100% on cutting back in collecting. I should do the same, as I end up buying too many "crap" films, due to all of the spit and polish they put into the slipcovers and artwork. I, also, am not upgrading to 4K, although I do buy and occasional "cheap" 4K if I didn't already own the film. Throw in a horror review from time to time! Have a good one.
