Minuetto - Johann Joachim Quantz - Hammered Dulcimer
Minuetto by Johann Joachim Quantz (1697-1773)
Almost 30 years ago a good friend who played the hammered dulcimer sadly passed away from leukemia. I was honored that she bequeathed her Rizzetta dulcimer to me (not this one I’m playing here). Inside the case was a piece of sheet music that she got at a dulcimer workshop. I learned the piece, fell in love with it, and have played it ever since.

This is a draft version of a tune learned from Paul VanArsdale at the Augusta Heritage Workshop many years ago.

Unfortunately, I can give you only one 'thumbs up'. YOUR performance is by far the best .
Lovely, lilting song. Thank you for sharing
When I was young our family would go to Knott’s Berry Farm and listen to an elderly woman play with spoons! We could have stood for hours listening to her play!❤❤❤
When was that? Now I’m not ancient but when I was six knots berry farm was a petting zoo and a store that sold jam. All geared for small kids.
Beautiful
