All very nice photos from such a beautiful place on our planet.

Fascinating photographic record of a beautiful area. Delighted to see Daphne and Janice visited Devil Lake, with its sentinel rocks (3"-13", 13'20") and the beaver dam (3'-04" and 6'-04") which (I think) is where the old trail, superceded in 2018 by the new, used to cross. Trouble was, there was no beaver dam and you had to wade. According to Terry Sprague there was once a bridge here, but it was swept away. Most people got to the parting of the ways (image at 6'-44") and hung a left. This is the start of the old trail, which turned left at the big ATV trail and went past the tree now bearing the sign, Trail Closed. This trail goes to a portage with Haley Lake to its right, and the old boats. The portage, I think, used to link Haley Lake with Mud Lake but is now quite smothered with scrub. The start of the old trail is visible, believe it or not, in images at 3'-38", 8'-3" and 13'-20"; yes really, there was a trail here, and you followed it, scantily marked, to Daphne and Janice's beaver dam. Lacking trail maintenance it has almost certainly now reverted to the bush that always seemed ready and willing to claim it.

An stunningly cooperative red-breasted nuthatch! Always a privilege to see one of these, and this one even landed on someone's hand. Additionally, some beautiful images of the subtle nature of this quite intriguing area, all new to me.
