  • @TheMelnTeam

In testing actual combats, land night attack is among the most impactful unlocks in any doctrine tree, period. Only exception is if you have enough juice to win fights during a single daylight period...not a scenario where you'd need much help from doctrines. What really holds GB back in MP is the horrible implementation of espionage, where 5 nations with 20% spy network completely remove planning. Were it not for that, you could do things like staff office plan and invest in command power generation to keep planning relatively high. Since the enemy can completely strip it with very little counterplay, however, the utility is limited. If trading expeditionary forces to stack some non-GB doctrine benefits onto planning/entrenchment of GB is allowed, this is a doctrine EVERY faction should have on some of its members though. Superior firepower divisions are pretty good. SF divisions receiving GB max planning are better. Mass mob guerilla tactics rolls + huge reinforce rate can be miserable to deal with. You need fewer units to maintain a rotating defense on front line, by a lot. If the support companies can do at least some damage to attackers or the nation who has it is using CAS, it can start changing the outcome of the game. It's non-trivial to beat guerilla w/o putting howitzers on tanks, and that makes said tank divisions much worse vs other tank divs.

If you have excess power armor sure if not just use a different support company. If I remember correctly Support Power Armor companies add an armor value to the division which is how you used to make space marines.

@@glauberglousger956 yes actually you have 3 other options; they’re call mobile warfare, superior firepower, and mass assault. And believe it or not, there’s a doctrine all about breakthroughs called mobile warfare. And if you play it right, it’ll absolutely stomp GBP because GBP requires time and mobile warfare is all about moving fast and denying your opponent time. It’s almost like GBP is based on trench warfare and mobile warfare is based on blitzkrieg. Which we saw how that historically played out with France. The whole completely capitulating after they left a single forest undefended.

@@boneman9751 That's simplifying things way too much All the doctrines are different from each other, with neither better than the other, mostly depending on how well you use it Mobile Warfare is mainly focused on a small group attacking tanks/mobile units acting independently from the main army, breaking through parts of the enemy army, winning small battles and encircling the enemy While Grand Battleplan's first few selections are indeed Trench Warfare, the rest is about the entire army (hence the name), with every division working together to maximise gains, focusing on large frontline pushes with full logistics, meant to take advantage of the first few critical days of a battle As for not having time, if you didn't have your divisions on the frontline building up planning and entrenchment from the very beginning, you're definitely going to lose, same with historical France, if you leave some tiles unguarded, with no divisions behind the frontline or in reserves, you'll lose In that case, it's simply using the doctrine badly

    • @ultimatestuff7111
      @ultimatestuff7111 16 днів тому

@@boneman9751mp battles are far too slow for mobile warfare to work, 10 speed really doesn’t do much, the org buff is misleading because you get org buffs from gbp too, and the ask for control of states trick can easily overcome the spy issue, and in the case of the eastern front you have to remake an intel network if you stay on the dnieper line, which could buy time for major cities like Kiev dniepropetrovsk and Vitebsk to fall which is the beginning of the end, even the breakthrough buff is misleading because it only gives tank destroyers, the one things that could use a bit more breakthrough, 20% instead of 60%, and another fact is that any breakthrough above 750 has no difference so any more is overkill and you’d be better off using fucking superior firepower right left

Interesting and I would agree with most of what you said. The radar tech does also unlock state radio which is useful for boosting political power accumulation when you have the money to burn. I find that the market really evens the odds for Tribals as I can build up my reputation with them selling bicycles and pipe guns in exchange for lots of money and purchasing more advance weapons and vehicles later. Followers of the apocalypse also really boost small nations once you get over the two temporary debuffs they screw you with. Those guys single handedly turn my tribal villages into resource rich countries that can compete with the big guys.

Disclaimer: I am a Eugen fanboy. I started at RUSE, terrible multiplayer game imo. Less of a review, more of a shallow subjective rant. Even you admit at the end that it is a rant so why call it a review in the title? You earned my dislike for that. I have played Broken Arrow and it is quite fun, to an extent. I'm afraid Broken Arrow might become really boring after the meta sets in, it happend to me and I went straight back to WARNO. I do have to admit Eugen has gotten lazy over time and I feel competition from Broken Arrow is actually good for them. But Broken Arrow won't make people abandon WARNO because it isn't targeting the main WARNO player base, the 10v10 crowd. It can't target that, afaik nothing can because nothing is optimised enough to handle that many units and players on one map except Eugen's Iriszoom engine. Last RTS I saw go over 20 players on one server is actually pre-alpha Stormgate. I do have to admit Army General needs work. But I don't play it, I'm mainly a 10v10 player. Operations were actually quite fun. Eugen has sacrificed gameplay for realism. That's why there is no airdropping from aircraft, strat bombers, and forward deployment is like that. That is something only someone with IRL military experience can truly appreciate. Even Eugen has admitted that many things that make Broken Arrow fun (strat bombers, airdrops) are out of scope for WARNO. Oi, I like to play TKS. I've beaten A tier divisions on open maps with TKS. Infantry is actually more OP in WARNO than you care to admit or have experienced, way more OP than WGRD. Grind 10v10 until lvl 20 and you'll understand. I think the price tag is because the game is made in France and they have to get paid according to French laws which are f**king brutal in terms of that. But I think the 10v10 alone is worth the base price. WARNO has it's faults but you won't go bashing the game like this without a lengthy counter comment from me. You are welcome to invite me to argue in voice chat if this makes you emotional enough.

I'm not gonna stop you from bullying eugen, because they deserve it and any competition they can get neither am i going to do a 50 page rebuttal of every point made like comparing WARNO to red dragon okay, what is steel division then but red dragon with a re-skin and if you think about it what is red dragon but command and conquer or world in conflict with a re-skin. It is of course indisputeable that broken arrow is more sophisticated game by gameplay mechanics. However what i don't get, and what i have seen from others too is this blind faith in broken arrow and saying WARNO is dead, unless you are a closed beta tester of broken arrow and you know big unannounced things and the game is totally different technically now than when it was in open beta i think it's very early to say it is the saviour of the genre, it was definitely more broken and less arrow when i played the open beta for 40 or so hours, did we play the same game at all? And the actual achilles heel of broken arrow being a unity based game of all things and having only one game mode we have seen so far. I sincerely hope steelbalalaika can make it work but i fear the games optimization is impossible due to its game engine.

I've seen a lot of folks saying that they like the trapping upgrade. Have any of you guys looked to see what happens with the hunters once you get this upgrade? Any assigned hunters not actively hunting a deer or distracted by like praying or water will suddenly pick a random spot on the map and slowly make their way there. This spot could be anywhere in your region, which could cover a TON of ground and wastes a massive amount of potential work time. The worst part is that the hunters have to go BACK to wherever they set the trap. A double half map or more trip for 1 meat is not my idea of a good time. I suggest against this entire section of the development tree as it will shoot much of one's early game work time down the drain for a minimal gain. The other two points that unlock after trapping are rather good, but it just kills my soul a little bit watching the dumbass hunters wander all around seemingly aimlessly. Just my thoughts, cheers. <3

Ok so archers have some excellent uses. Namely using small squads of them to lure enemies into a bad position in the early game. The smallest unit size is 5 men. You can get away with a tiny investment of manpower to lure stuff near your home region or other units like maybe mercs etc. Archers also have the lowest armor, therefore the least stamina drain. They are excellent at hopping around to capture cleared camps and all sorts of fun feint luring tactics to get enemies to do even dumber stuff than they already do. Also, have you tried flanking enemies with archer units and firing into their backs? It's actually pretty effective in my experience so far. It's easy to get the small squads early and still use a full other melee unit like the starting spear 20. Simply hire the spear unit, then hire the rest of your open slots as needed, up to 5 other units of whatever you lime. As the new units are hired, it splits the recruit pool down smaller and smaller. Get as close to 5 as possible and see what mischief they can manage. I like to think of them as crack special forces. I also imagine them taunting enemies and stuff. This brings me great joy. :) Oh and if doing this early game once you have lured the enemy to your home region, simply disband the other tiny archer units and keep the small active squad up. This frees up the recruits and gets that starting spear up to the 20 usually. Can easliy take brigands out this way! ^_^

The game should set up camps to place on the outskirts of battlegrounds cause if you show up with 70 days left of battle the soldiers should get hungry and tired and lower their fatigue and moral. You can place it maybe with a supplies unit that takes from the town and can make back and forth delivery trips to resupply. This could work even better if the AI had a city on the map that you can siege.

I've tried charcoal, unfortunately I'm not sure if it's intended or a bug but I could only have 1 charcoal in reserve outside of the buildings, no matter how many kilns i had and my buildings all full of refuel storage.

The development tree definitely needs some rebalancing. Also I think 'sheepbreeding' and the berries one should be awarded when you invest two or three points in that branch, because otherwise they feel a bit of a waste, since they lead to nothing better unlike the rest of options.

I like what you're saying here, kinda like a specialization reward. Probably need a min of 4 points invested to unlock.

I think it’s like 6 apples per year per orchard and only 3 per year for 3 years when it’s growing so not too crazy if you have like 40-50 people

It depends on how long / big the field (burgage plot) is. The bigger, the more apples you get. I heard someone saying you get 1 apple per tree. You can basically zoom in and count the trees on the field. You can't only get 6 apples per orchard like you said.

@@sebastiancorban yes. The two issues is the plots storage filling up and that you only have the month of september to harvest. But a t3 double plot gives you 4 families to harvest and a storage of 225. And if you're lucky the storehouse and traders come help get a few off their hands in time.

@jimmygranqvist7684 yeah, I always build double houses plots, I think it's more efficient.
