I've been saying if ever since season 1 and I'll say it again - these guys would not have survived ONE season without Martin. The guy has always been the most level-headed of them all in a crisis, sharp, smart, resourceful, not to mention brave and fiercely loyal. And the most emotionally resilient person in the whole show. Yet everyone kept underestimating him from the start up until the very end, mistaking him for weak or naive - which he very much used to his advantage and I love him for it. Martin is a king.

Wait I thought his injury was in his leg, not his arm. They said he couldn't walk and thats why they couldn't leave the room all together. Also while Sasha and Martin get closer and further from the tape recorder, Jon always remains the same distance. And then Tim has to carry him through the tunnels because he is clearly built for that, and thats how they ended up losing Martin because they couldn't three-leg chase him. And how Prentiss got them both at once. Its a great animatic but that was ticking in my head about it

so far this is one of the best fan animatics I've seen; the shot composition, the layout, the angles, everything was interesting and easy to follow; there was enough movement to ensure nothing got stale, the shading/lighting was nice on the eyes, and the art is really cute

god looking back at old episodes is... “these files are far more protected than we ever were” of course they are. archival assistants are excellent bait for entities and avatars, replacing them is easy so long as you dont give a shit about people. but the statements you can get out of them? the stories that quite literally sustain the magnus institute? of fucking course those would be safeguarded so much more. the foreshadowing in every nook and cranny... jeez

You know, it occurs to me that Martin was always a lot smarter and feistier than people gave him credit for. He's always planning ahead- schemeing, even. And he relishes victory. But because he truly cares about other people, he's mistaken for weak. Johnny and Alex see s1 Martin as "fluffy" in character. I agree. But it's emotional openness and sensitivity, not submission, confusion, or fragility. Martin is sharp.

The fact that Jon didn't immediately go all heart eyes at Martins preparedness is unrealistic and homophobic.

This is an incredible animatic! I love the amount of detail, the abrupt cut into worm removal surgery, the physicality of how everyone moved when they weren't speaking and the character designs were really fantastic! Hope you did well in class!

jon smiled at martin! Stop being so rude to him, please, he just wants to help! you really did a good job with the emotions in this scene, especially the worm removal, very gross, made me very uncomfortable! I'd almost forgotten about this clip, but damn, it really does show how smart Martin could be. Sasha and Jon's friendly argument hits closer when you realise that shortly after that, he couldn't even remember her face.

It is really beautiful and I really like this interpretation of Jon! It's almost strange seeing him before the scars. :)
