Tent and Tarp wild camp on the beach
We had an unexpected visitor on this wild camp and this resulted in the Nature hike cloud peak 2 getting used for the first time for a year! We forgot the telescopic tarp pole but luckily found a substitute. Lots of cooking with a recipe we stole from Abel & Victoria.

Wild camp cooking in the woods
Переглядів 1,3 тис.2 місяці тому
We decided to have a little outdoor cook up with my new Toaks Titanium pot and pan combination. We experienced son very strange and somewhat dangerous behaviour from the Trangia alcohol burner when used on the Trangia Triangle. Still not sure what happened, Ive seen a Trangia flair up like this on AB camping channel. I'm glad this didn't happen inside the tent. let me know what you think! #wild...
Peak District wild camp nightmare
Переглядів 8 тис.2 місяці тому
We learned a thing or two about summer camping on this trip. Definitely need to do some research to stop this nightmare happening again. I definitely prefer winter camping. Much better to fight the weather than to fight wildlife. #wildcamp #wildcamping #hilleberg #camping #adventure #hiking #backpacking #countryside #outdoors #tentcamping #wildcampinguk #peakdistrict
Which is the best camping stove?
Переглядів 2,3 тис.2 місяці тому
We made a video for anyone thinking of getting into wild camping, or a walker who would like to buy a camping stove. In this video we test 4 different types of stove in a boil off against each other. Alcohol stove, Multifuel, gas, and a JetBoil. #wildcamp #campgear #campingstove #wildcamping #jetboil #trangia #colemanstove #outdoors #camping

In this video I’m unboxing the Trangia T27 camping cook set with a gas burner I'm very impressed with this cooking kit. It is a little to small to use as a two-person cook kit. #wildcamping #campingstove #outdoorgear #trangia #wildcampinguk #hiking #stove

There are actually 3 camping shops in Hathersage, the other is a little way up the hill, I know I have camped in the area a lot over the years. It is a beautiful part of the country with some fantastic hills and valleys to explore, Stannedge Egde is a very popular place meaning it is not brilliant for wild camping unless you pack up early

trangia ... cook in your tent ? I used to think there was something wrong with me and the trangia then i figured out it was the trangia and not me.. at 2am recently i woke up cold with no sleeping bag, camping gaz stove in my boot , three inches from the tent, water boiled in 5 minutes, pot noodles eaten in 10 minutes back to sleep in 20 minutes. No soot on anything. The trangia is the most dangerous way to cook and yet nobody will own up to that fact. Whole hillsides set alight from them and its a sin to say anything bad about them

There is not enough air flow around the Trangia to keep it cool, the frypan is covering the top and reflecting to much heat back on the burner over heating the fuel. I have found this to be an issue with most Trangia stand options, except for the stand that comes with the mini Trangia and stands of a similar open design from China.

I think it needed more cooler air from underneath. You may need to drill out some of the vent holes to a larger size, or stand the triangle on three rocks to allow more airflow.

    • @Wildcamp-lifestyle
      @Wildcamp-lifestyle 2 місяці тому

The fuel was bioethanol. I’ve not seen it do this in a tent, it would burn the ground sheet if it did so I’ll be using a small heatproof mat under the burner from now on. I think the wind was accelerating the burn and swirling the flame around the burner which was superheating the Trangia and vaporising the alcohol.

I'm an alcohol stove user, at least for backpacking. The other thing nice about the transgia is that you can just screw the lid down after the stove cools and leave the leftover fuel in there. I built my own windscreen from some aluminum flashing. I bought the little fry pan from transgia which fits my mess kit. Cook pancakes on it, or sausage and eggs. It comes with the Transgia mini, which is a good deal also. 38 dollars for the stove, windscreen/potholder, pot and frypan. Nice video.

Bamford has always been heavily keepered, before CRoW any interested public, mainly climbers back then, were only allowed there between October & March and only then if they asked the estate manager. Remember, rights come with responsibilities.
