    Watching your videos I'm interested in your situation! Are you Canadian born Chinese? How'd you get your hands on a team China singlet? I saw videos of you training in China. Do you speak Chinese? ,Did you compete in China? How does this all work? Thanks.

    Hey there, thank you for the good info. Could you tell how you include this movement to your program ?

    • @yangl123
      @yangl123 5 років тому

      Hi, plyometrics should be periodized into your training based on your overall training load and phase of training. I would include them in both GPP phases and in power phases - they may be less beneficial in hypertrophy and strength phases. I would be weary of programming them more than once or twice per week due to the high dynamic loading of the exercise.

    Does oly lifting build muscle like the pros or do I need to lift weights along side

    • @yangl123
      @yangl123 5 років тому

      Oly lifting will develop traps, delts, errectors, glutes, and quads to a tremendous degree. Other muscles would benefit from bodybuilding not only for aesthetics but to reduce muscle imbalances.

    Nice lifting channel. How old are you? How many times do BSQ and FSQ per week?

    • @yangl123
      @yangl123 6 років тому

      28. BSq twice per week. FSq 0-1 per week (haven't front squatted in 6mo)

      haven't front squatted in 6mo >>Can you improve the record of C&J without FSQ? My weak point is FSQ. MY BEST BSQ(high bar):210KG FSQ:145KG

    holy shit, big bench for oly program, and you don't seem to program it much, how much was the press

    • @yangl123
      @yangl123 7 років тому

      90kg press. I do bench press occasionally, usually dumbell bench press once every 1-2 weeks when I'm not preparing for competition.

    Hi Yang, just happened to run into your youtube channel last night. I suppose you are the same Yang Yang on instagram that uploads those weightlifting videos? Enjoyed watching your content, thank you for those uploads. Just one question though, recently I am learning how to front squat, however I always feel it's my upper and inner quad that is being used (like the quad muscle near my crotch). Am I feeling the right spot? Or I should really be feeling outer quads and upper region of my glutes. If so, what can I do to help myself to feel that. (When practicing, I am using empty bar) Hope to meet you in person one day if you do decide to come by Toronto. Thanks

    how many times a week do you train? also can oly lifting build muscle mass?

    • @yangl123
      @yangl123 7 років тому

      I train 4-6 times per week, depending on how much free time I have. Yes, weightlifting can build mass.

    • @helihutchinson5342
      @helihutchinson5342 7 років тому

      ok kool so do you also compete in competitions?. im from the uk and plan on starting oly lifting but the only club near me trains once a week. would you say that's enough to be competitive?

    • @yangl123
      @yangl123 7 років тому

      I compete when I have a few consecutive months with enough free time to train consistently. If you're only weightlifting once per week, that is definitely not ideal and probably too infrequent to be competitive. If you can train at a different facility on your own and train with this club once per week, that would be adequate.

    • @helihutchinson5342
      @helihutchinson5342 7 років тому

      yangl123 thanks. I'm going to train with the club first to learn the correct techniques for the lifts, then train on my own 3 x a week and attend the club session once a week. so do you train on your own or are you part of club?

    • @yangl123
      @yangl123 7 років тому

      I train have a club and coach but I train primarily on my own at a gym where I live.

    How long did it they you to fully get the *feel for the full extension through your knees to hip? I been at it for 1 yr and I'm just starting to understand the extension through the knees. Do you engage your hip as well or do you just concentrate to extend through knees? Thank you

    • @yangl123
      @yangl123 8 років тому

      I still haven't fully gotten it yet, but you definitely need to have forceful knee AND hip extension.
