The majority of the videos on this channel are mountain biking focused but there may be others mixed in that show my other hobbies like fishing, firewood, or chainsaws. For the mtb videos I like to take a one trail at a time approach using Trailforks as my guide. Instead of showing the overall highlights from a trail network or a specific ride, I show highlights from an individual trail. I then link the videos to the trail’s TF page for additional exposure.

Horsthief Bench - Loma, CO
November 16, 2024 - Horsethief Bench is a very well known trail, mainly because of the insanely technical drop in. There are many (impressive) videos out there of folks cleaning it like it's nothing. Not me. Anyway, once you get to the bottom of the drop in there is a loop on the "bench" that runs clockwise with great views of the Colorado River. There are some sketchy sections within the loop itself that we also walked. I recommend Nate Hills video from 2016 if you want to see a pro ride this trail and clean everything we didn't have the cajones to even try. I watched Nate's video back then and put this trail on my bucket list and finally got to ride it.

Bull Run (lower) - Moab, UT
Переглядів 144Місяць тому
November 15, 2024 - This is the third, final, and lower section of Bull Run. At the end you can connect to the trails that take you to Gold Bar Rim and Portal. We turned around at this point and climbed back up Getaway to our vehicle. Bull Run (lower) is a great trail. There is nothing overly technical and for the most part it flows well. www.trailforks.com/trails/bull-run-lower/

November 15, 2024 - This is the upper section of Bull Run that is rated as a black diamond. It's not bi-directional so you can only ride it down. The trail is technical but there is nothing that can't be rolled. It's a fun trail with some great canyon views. You also can see out to Monitor and Merrimac as well as the La Sal mountains. www.trailforks.com/trails/bull-run/
Kestrel Run - Moab, UT

November 14, 2024 - Kestrel Run is the newest and last trail of the Raptor Route. It's less than 2 miles with minimal technical terrain. There is a switchback that is tricky but definitely rideable. The last half mile or so is the best part as it flows through a small canyon. www.trailforks.com/trails/kestrel-run/
Hawks Glide - Moab, UT

November 14, 2024 - Continuing the adventure down the Raptor Route. This is the 2nd trail in this route and is just as fun as Eagle Eye. However, the ending is a bit sketchy. It's steep and exposed and smooth rock is some places that gets covered in sand and makes for an interesting situation. We walked that section but it's definitely rideable. www.trailforks.com/trails/hawks-glide/
Eagle Eye - Moab, UT

November 14, 2024 - Eagle Eye is the first trail in a series of connecting trail that make up the Raptor Route. It starts very close to a section of LPS so if Porcupine Rim is not for you, jump onto these trails for some flow. www.trailforks.com/trails/eagle-eye-345558/

May 5, 2023 - I was given a guided tour of Hopewell Park along with several other coaches from PICL (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League). Hopewell park is the home trail system of the Danville Hammers. After the tour it was apparent why they are one of the strongest teams in our league. The trail system has a lot of steep, punchy climbs but also some great flow and really fast sections...
Red Trail - Fair Hill | Elkton, MD

April 20, 2023 - The Red Trail is easily accessed from the Gallaher parking lot. It is a loop and can be ridden either direction. For the purposes of this video I rode it CCW (Green to Red). However, I think it flows best clockwise. There are 3 creek crossings so prepare to at minimum get your tires wet. There are some decent sections of flow and minimal technical factor. www.trailforks.com/tra...

September 23, 2022 - This was the 3rd race of PICL season 7. The middle school loop was approximately 2.5 miles. It started the racers out with a decent climb but then it turns to to fun, fast flow. The race ended with a climb as well. It was a great weekend overall. #pamtb #morekidsonbikes www.trailforks.com/region/boyce-park/

Nice video. Try riding it as a figure 8, you'll add some more flow and fun. From the parking lot take the trail to the left through the field. Turn right once you enter the tree line, really good flowy section, take the left over the bridge you crossed at the finish. Again more good flow, then take another left at the bisect/cutoff - go uphill and take right. From there you are on your clockwise route down to the creek etc. Take that all the way back to the bisect/cutoff and go uphill again, this time go left (counter clockwise). You can either finish on the same trail back to the parking lot or hit that initial flowy section again (this is what I normally do) and climb out the way you entered / exited in your video. Hope this makes sense.
@@ronggearrob9622 I’m due for a ride in WC/MR. Thank you for the suggestion.
Looks like a fun trail! 🫡
Nice trail mate.
nice ride - thanks for sharing!
Nice. Looks really fun. Hope to get out there one day. Nice to finally see the Ripmo!
Renamed Rowlercoaster
@@joe34280 Thanks, I see what they did there. Hoping to ride there over Thanksgiving if the snow today doesn’t mess that up.
I would totally eat shyt on this “beginner” trail 😅
Nice video! Are the other trails any more technical than Lee Hill? Or is Lee the main event you'd say?
@@mahoganychinchilla there are so many trails in LSP and some are definitely more technical than Lee Hill. North woods is probably my favorite in LSP if you want a main event trail.
@@DKRK279 thank you! I just started biking this year and have been exploring the area, I've been to trexler which is so far my favorite but it's far from me.
Nice showcase of the bike.
U said 32t but says 30t whos in right you or chainring?😂
Hey I am very local to fair hill and just bought a mountain bike. What trails would you recommend thanks
Use Trailforks and take your pick at Fair Hill. Twilight is probably the most popular and there are many others close by. Green Trail is my favorite. Tea Kettle, Hattie’s Trail, Punctured Lung are all good too.
@@DKRK279 I tried at red trail the other day. It was great. Kinda confusing where to go though
Yeah the trails aren’t marked well if at all in FH
How does this compare to white clay?
This particular trail or Fair Hill in general?
@@DKRK279 hey Fairhill in general
@@shamrock4840 very close, probably a bit more technical, less crowded, minimal trail markers so not the easiest to navigate
This was my personal favorite trail at Raystown. The fast and flowy exposed sections made it feel like a big Appalachian ride.
Ray's also didn't have the mudholes in the middle of the trail like Osprey did lol. The Yeti was not happy having to be driven through that haha
A beautiful trail indeed! White Clay has so much to offer for cyclists and hikers, birdwatchers and nature lovers. Thanks for the ride!
I did this with my twin 9 yo's and they loved it. And yes it is one heck of a leg abuse session
I thought about walking this trail many times, so glad I didn’t! I’m curious to know if the trails you showed at Lackawanna State Park are meant more for bikers or hikers? I realize they can be used by both, but what’s your take on them?
I see no issues hiking them. I will say when I do ride there it’s rare for me to see hikers.
That was fun! Thanks
Oh man! What a video. Whew!
Not sure how I stumbled upon your videos, but sure glad I did! That was something else! Whew!!
Why do people record the audio of their breathing in many of these mtb vids😄 Looks like an awesome bike trail!
Wow nice video the colors are amazing
Gotta take a trip to PA, so many great trails 🤙
Can you do night riding there?
I’m not sure. I’m not local to that area. If you are on Facebook check out the SAMBA page, someone there should know.
Get your kids Fking away from that hole! Multiple people have DIED right where that little girl is! I can’t stand ignorant people
Does it come with pedals and if not what are the most ideal pedals for it
Honestly I don’t recall if it came with pedals or not. I personally prefer Shimano SPD. I’ve never run flats if you are looking for a recommendation there.
How come none of the !@#$ trails are marked?
They never have. That’s why I started using my channel to show people how to navigate Fair Hill and other places using Trailforks.
Thanks so much again. I really appreciate you sharing these, I would have had nooo idea these places are out there. I did download the Trail Forks app also on your suggestion. Can't wait to give some of these a try. Got a bike coming, I'm excited 😃👍👍
Great, great ride!! Thanks for sharing!!
Nice, nice ride, thanks for sharing!
Countryside, Conservancy land trust owns this land and preserve
Wow! I hike this all the time. Love it! It is a real hiker's trail--and rocky in numerous places. but I can't imagine doing this on my mountain bike over those rocks. How long did it take you by bike?
It’s been a few years so I don’t recall exactly but it’s a slow moving trail, at least for me. Maybe an hour and a half out and back?
It's about 2 1/2 miles, but hiking for some reason, of all the trails there, it seems to take forever. But it's still glorious!@@DKRK279
Owned by local conservancy, same as Zeigler
Gonna try to check this out next time I am down that way! Cool video!
Thank you. I rode it recently. It’s not in the best shape with all of the rain we’ve had lately.
Good to know. Which trails would you recommend I do? I started riding 3ish months ago and have a Trek hard tail that can actually handle quite a bit. @@DKRK279
Thanks for the video. We’re new to this and this was helpful. What camera did you shoot this with? What kind of camera mount? Thank you.
I use a GoPro Hero 9 and a Stuntman chest mount.
your filming did 3 mile smile justice. I was smiling watching the whole thing. One of my favorite mtb trails :-)
Agreed on the route to take. Rode it today and its a serious climb out. What you r recommending would be more sensible and would I enjoy the tech on the way down.🤙🏻
You need to get an xc bike for this
I like to keep one bike so if I’m over-biked on some trails then so be it.
Great video looks like a nice place to ride😎🤙
Where exactly is that? I went to white clay but couldn’t find it
Do you use the Trailforks app? The TF link is in the description.
I just rode this trail today. Hardest trail I've tried so far. I had to hike a bike through a few sections to make it through. It was a challenge for sure.
Hi mate, what is your height? I’m looking at the same bike but it’s a large I’m 6”2 189cm. Any idea if it’d be too small for me? Cheers
I’m 6’3” and the bike fit me well. Large would definitely be too small. I’d look for an XL.
how common are bear encounters in that general area?
It's definitely bear country up that way. However, I've never had an encounter, nor have I heard of a fellow mtber having one.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought everything at Hopewell was up hill. I was sucking air as well.
The last mile or 2 paid all the climbing back. Unfortunately my camera died before we descended back to the parking area.
what kind of camera did you use for underwater filming?
A GoPro Hero 9
Great video. Throwing the trail names and ratings as you rode is very cool and helpful in planning out a ride. I don't see many mtb videos where they do that. I have to be up in Milton, PA on business and was looking to ride - do you have a suggestion on good options including this one? Where woulld you ride if you were up that way for a day? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks. Hopewell is good, Geisinger is better. I’m working on a Geisinger video now but it will be several more days. There is an awesome mtb culture/community in Danville. If you can connect with a local that is your best option. I was lucky to have a guide so I could really enjoy the rides.
Great video. There aren’t many good overviews of Hopewell. Looks awesome
Thanks. Yeah, I saw there wasn't much out there when prepping for this trip.
Thanks!
Looks awesome ...I want to do the same trails next week. Great your videos I loved the informations. I'm thinking of climbing through East Kahakapao and down the Pineapple Express and then climbing through West Kahakapao and down through Renegade and Ravine. What do you think ? Do you have the link of your complete ride on TrailsFork. Thank you in advance
www.trailforks.com/ridelog/view/39758480/
Enjoy!
I have same bike in XL. I can’t figure out why my chain skips or jumps on the ten tooth cog under hard pedaling. Pisses me off. Already tried new chain. Put XT chain on. Came with all SLX. Go back to SLX?
Sounds like you might need to adjust the H limit screw on your derailleur. I don’t think it’s the chain.
Awesome video! I plan on going here this august
Thanks! It’s such a fun trail system.
