As I work to get my armpits more in front of my pelvis, I found that I have to move my arms under the top of my armpits. It feels like an underhand throw with my right hand through impact when I get it correct.

When you can replicate your practice swing
Can you explain counterwound hands from the 335 smash vid ?are you still using it with the newre swing?
Watching lee hit I do notice he comes under the plane which levels that club so the slap doesn’t effect path as much it does trajectory. I believe this is why he advocates for 6 degree flat clubs. Just a guess but visually you can see he really shallows out the club
Its been a while, since you have posted? Have you ever thought about taking the approach that the SHAFT plane is the most important? Think about this, if you set up on the shaft plane, which is good at address then why would you not want to return the shaft plane back at IMPACT? YOU<<<<<< start on a shaft plane and then you STAND UP at impact which creates a different shaft plane! Research the old time golfers, HOGAN, Palmer, George Knudson and slow motion them at address and then at impact you will see they are exactly at impact where they started at address. Somewhere along "TIME", golf instruction has changed and caused the golfer to "wander in the wilderness". GO look at MOE NORMAN he sets up and returns, HE and others Sam Snead>>>NEVER invade the space with there legs and body . This method and way is NOT NEW, the PGA and their golf instruction manual has changed the way it should be taught. >>>>Put a ball on a tee at waist high, video yourself and watch you will take it away and return on the same level plane. Now put the ball on a short tee and video and you should be able to do the same!! Hockey players do it exact right they take it up and return it on the same plane<<<< IRONIN BARON the mechanical machine never <<<<<gets off plane from address to impact!>>>>>>>>>>>GO CHECK!!!
The great Mike Austin and Mike Dunaway >>> BOTH set up on the shaft plane and returned it on the same plane!!
Shaft plane is important. Have to relax more so hands can get lower and more under my chest when I release the club. You can see that I am leveraging my chest better. I drew the line to show how my hands are moving before I release the club and will keep getting my hands lower and lower as I fully commit to getting my hands lower and lower before I release the club by leveraging my whole body. It is a process and feel like I am inching toward it. Swing feeling so effortless when I get it correct like I did on the 6th swing in this video but did even better on a couple swings on the course so hopefully will get those on video one after the other.
That's quite the goat hump. I'd be really concerned about my back. Your pelvis is working toward the ball putting your spine in a compromised position.
It was great meeting you Doug! I really appreciate the tips and pointers you gave to my brother cousin and I.
Keep up the good work!
Doug, you're the man!
Lee took a baseball swing that he was very good at and found how to make it work in a golf swing or motion. Up down through and up because the ball is on the ground. This is the most dependable way to play golf.
Cut out the background noise so we can hear what’s being said, would be much better for all watching
I always thought that too. I guess he's threading the needle between a push-draw and a pull-hook.
Over the top of what?
From my perspective it’s only ott in relation to the back swing. If you removed the backswing and just watched the down swing it would look perfect.
unfold the right elbow
driver too light for u
big deal,,he keeps club on plane with great tempo
😮
So great that you recorded this, and all the other videos that you took! Too bad there were clowns talking. Thank God they realized the error of their ways at 11:00.
Hey Rock, I can’t believe not one person has commented on your video in 12 years! Are you still “twirling” and “dumping?” What I notice most about this video is how well you slot the club during the downswing. It’s very easy to overswing with Ayer’s twirl, but you made it work here! Hope your still working on it!! Keep grinding, sir!!
Rock, just stumbled on Lee Comeaux's videos two days ago. Then youtube sent me some of yours. Great stuff! I took the ideas to the range yesterday and was crushing them straight and pure keeping in mind Lee's "loop" idea which is simply an ever so slight over the top move while swinging out in front to the right all the way through the swing. Also switched to a 10 finger/baseball grip and was astounded at the control that I had with my right hand. Truly the missing link in the golf swing...using the inertia of the body/arms/hands and club head in the correct way. Lee points out in his video, "Inward to out front loop" that if a player lets the club head drop or fall, lets gravity pull it to the ground on the downswing it kills all the inertia that the player has created and now the player is fighting with his club. Ruined swing. That's all I needed to hear. Got on the range, inserted the over the top idea into my mind and started sending them dead straight and long down range. In concert with swinging to the right at all times the OTT (loop) is IT! Your first swing in this video is really something. You get that club head way back at the top of your swing. Quite impressive! You look like Bobby Jones. He gets his club head way back there as well...of course, so does Hogan with his woods. That's pretty good company! Thanks for the videos! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I needed that nap!
still on toes trough impact Lee comeaux wont know why
Let’s see that ding on the ceiling😂
It looks so easy.
Let’s watch Lee hit all this poor guy’s balls
Same feel here as keeping the left palm down as you release the club behind your right pocket. You should check out Dan Alton
Do you have a single video explaining how to set up counterwoundnfor all body parts?
Jack never did anything with his legs. They merely reacted to his upper body, he was asked about his hips and legs and said he didn't do anything. They react to a correct upper body move, as chi chi once said there is no weight transfer in a golf swing except for the weight of the club. Amateurs transfer weight as they are misguided by poor teaching. Its all a mirage. The best ever use their legs to support weight not move it around.
First time I have really understood how the club head squares up and I can stop hitting it to the right. Thanks for sharing the technique.
Sound man asleep.
The dude in the red cap is awsome....."Yeah"......"Yeah"......"Yeah"......."Yeah"
Comeaux smashes it
I watched a video of rock hitting golf balls as solid and as pure as it can be hit
🌟🌟🌟
This move has so much more leverage than shallowing but I’m having a hard time trying to time it
What a shame that there's no audio, except for the "audience" talking about eastern European geography. Would have been nice to have some context for what we see.
Sounds like missiles
Rock, I think some rabbit holes are involved here, the "nubb" of trail elbow is into him or pointing down the target line at set up, upper arm twist or bicep facing out however you want to think about it, maybe clockwise twist of upper arm is a good thought. Then lower arm is a little counter clockwise with the grip. Keep that twist of upper arm, fold up, then throw down over that trail elbow, with trail forearm Nubb going down target line, thru, up to the "blind side". Important that you do not lead with the elbow Nubb, just throw over the top of it. You can see Nubb into him pointing down target line at set up in another video of yours, here ua-cam.com/video/aGDf_AjtDY4/v-deo.html
What Jack said was, "you can't release too early on the downswing, as long as you move into your leftside and swing the club from inside the target line" Lee and Jack both get to the left hip pivot as they reach the top of BS...so of course the weight has to be on the left heel for the DS, just as Jack Nicklaus said.
Penick admitted that there's really no single magic move in the golf swing, but this comes close. "To start your downswing," Penick stressed, "let your weight shift to your left foot while bringing your right elbow back down to your body. This is one move, not two."
Nice move .....standing closer because up on assault charges for "choking the hell " out that club
We were hoping that after all these years since your videos with Lee that your swing would be similar to his and that you could've shown us how he really hit the ball with so much compression and power. His explanation does not do justice when he hits the ball. It's like he's from out of space. It's too bad the volume on those videos weren't louder. Would've been easier to hear his explanations to you and you performing them.
He has the Pennick magic move where your left foot goes down as your right elbow drops to your hip.
What a wonderful golfswing! He is so connected throughout. Great video!
“Pay attention to his left armpit, right groin … firmly.” There is cause and effect in golf. I’m sure he didn’t think (for example) “I want my left armpit to do this and my right groin to do that.” They are effects. There are a few, very few, causes-things to do-to produce all the things we could observe his body doing in a swing. Better to focus on the few things to do than all the effects, and not confuse ourselves.
?
I get this video, especially when you were explaining the motion downward from the top. When I feel this on the course I don’t miss a shot! Then there are the days that you don’t feel it and struggle. Is there a swing thought that helps find it? Thanks john ⛳️
Congrats you picked up a key. Think left shoulder down and still then move humerus of both arms down smoothly while keeping left shoulder down. Challenge the ground with your body and arms and then your body will figure out how to release club. You can watch my latest videos and learn what I learned. Enjoy!
Let me ask a Question, Please >>HOW important is "shaft" plane to YOU? We find in your swing from address the shaft plane is set and then at impact YOU raise UP approx 4 inches to hit the ball! WHY? If you were to hit a baseball off a tee, would you raise up or go back on a plane and then return it on the same plane to hit the ball? IF you were to hit a slap shot with a hockey puck would you change planes to do that? If you were to HIT a golf ball on a tee why then do people raise up? >>ANSWER to make room for their hands to square up the club! GO back and look at Ben HOGAN and the old timers , they (most) never raised up on their TOE thru impact , but chased the club thru the hitting area! The idea of hitting it far has caused people to engage the body way to much and thus inconstances has become the norm. GO check Rory at set up (draw a line on his shaft at address and then see if it matches at impact) you will find it does NOT! Go check Curtis Strange and some others and see if that set up and impact are the same and you find it "matches" Rock<<< yours does not, even though you hit the ball good, but what are WE all after "consistent" ball striking, returning the club head back over and over again <<<<GO for an exercise and check MOE NORM and see exactly what he does!! NOTE: address and impact should be the same!!! thanks
I want my hands to be the same height at impact as they were at address. I swing my arms and keep my hands relaxed so don’t think my hands being higher at impact is from hitting it hard. I am not sure what it is because I have been working to achieve that for 12 years and really haven’t seen any technique work. I know I can pretend that they match by raising my hands 4 incurs at address. I also know I can change my entire swing to be flatter and get a better match. I want to have an upright backswing, I want to have a long backswing, and I want to swing my arms so I want to achieve it with those three must haves. If you have any ideas while meeting those three must haves, then I would like to give it a go.
You hit everyone like a bullet
Yes, frozen ropes on this day and had some incredible ones before and after these. It has been fun since the Senior Am qualifier as making progress and learning a lot.
