How much does it shrink when it dries? How do you keep it from warping? Is poplar good enough for house logs?
I wood like to see your winches work
It would be nice to know how many boards you yield out of a single piece of poplar based on the particular diameter of the log you started with.
As a 🇨🇦 stair builder that’s beautiful clear poplar! I thought I made sawdust for a living, you put me to shame. 😅 Thanks for sharing. Subscribed. ❤
I just saw you drive past me in Eufaula i was on a bike
You either need to learn to speak up or not have the stupid music plan because you can’t be heard
We have 8 poplars we are going to mill Saturday, I hope they have good colors like the yours. Thank you for the video!!!
Love the video!!
Your driving is terrible
That log looked straight to me, how did you know it would be stressed before you cut it? And thanks for the lesson in flipping it to minimize the warped boards.
Also, can you explain why you do that thin skim cut each time you roll the cant?
Not finish watching, he is all mouthy
Great wood for drumsets too! Too bad ludwig doesn't make American tulip poplar sets.
How many bdft did you get out of that log that scaled 113?
Small green tips of the branches have been used to clean teeth since before store bought toothbrushes. It's called Sweet Gum for some reason.
Nice build. Love the recycling. That 14.6 volts is boiling your battery. Ford always did that and you could smell the sulfur of the sulfuric acid around them. A GM style 100 amp single wire would be great for what you are doing.
Most sawmills want take them and the pulp mills don't want to take them either here in southeast Georgia
Thanks. I’m running an LT 15 go just for my small furniture business, but I’ve been pondering building an edger for myself since now I just dry everything and then edge it in the shop a year later which is more work and takes up more space . I’m not in a Lumber business so I don’t know if a unit like yours would be too much or not for me but it’s my sparking right now so thanks again
nice cutting it's nice too have big logs
I need an edger
That’s some beautiful boards Tim
What’s the name of that opening tune? I have about 800 of these but most are in a swampy area Very resilient species of tree
Great video. Absolutely right about turning the log. Most do have a lot of stress. Subscribed. 👍

Wow amazing
Great to see another video from you Tim
Having an edger right there parallel to the mill is great.
I think of your channel as "Thevsawdust bucket channel "
Thanks Tim, great video!
Glad to see you back making videos, I was starting to wonder if you had stopped.
😁👍👍👍👍👍
Have a mill and have learned a few things from you and others thanks for your milling video's
Love the music, who is that?
Surprised you could fine Virginia pine so straight, lol
Hey Tim, I miss your videos. Hope all is well with you and the family. Dave Smith
Got me some poplars laying down gotta get to them soon, sawed 8 of them a few years back @ 7/4 x 10' , avg size 18" to 20" across
Well done.
Beautiful popular! Love working with that wood!
Really like your videos and the way you saw. I just upgraded to an lt15 wide but I think I’m going to build a trailer for it. That edger you built is great I’m sure you put a lot of time into building it.
Just saw your video on Poplar. Saw some negative reviewers on another youtube channel. Poplar is a special wood with so many colors. Thank you for showing it!
Question, why do so many ppl cut 1 bys. Last year we cut up a 9.5ft 3way 140 ft tall popular.
I enjoyed you showing the profit /loss , this is seldom done or considered!
Thank you!
Forgot below.................good video.
Rough sawn lumber goes for less than $.50 per foot? I can barely buy LOGS for that price.
Tim I hope those ribs heal soon brother
Ain’t no fun working with broken ribs. People don’t realize how much it really cost to run a sawmill. Good job.
6x6's aren't fun even with good ribs 😁...good job.
To see a Spider means money is coming your way. Bad luck to kill a spider.
No problem giving a thumbs up,. You actually earned a a Sub and 98-100 out of a 100 don't. I cut some gum yday and waiting to see how it all turns out, My very thought was cant it and let it cure a while. My buddy was blown away at it's beauty,. I think all tree's opened up are gorgeous, especially Cedar.(my 1st. pick) Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge of Gum, I am 54 and only know it smells bad and is hard to hand split and have to predrill dried lumber. One of those that I ALSO "hated" only like them for their shade. I was surprised How well it milled and was easy on my blades. I run a Woodland 130 Max. for Hobby, I just enjoy milling. Very labor intensive with manual turn and cutter head up/down Manual too. But again my Pleasure. Thanks again.
