Hi SirEdric, i don’t know if you are still replying to this video, but I tried doing this effect. And it didn’t work :/ all the nodes are connected just like how you did it. But no displacement or jaggy edges is appearing. Maybe it doesn’t work with the newer version? If so, could you please explain what nodes to use to get this working, or what I’m doing wrong. I really need this to work so if you could help it would be much appreciated :) (sorry for the long talk) I. Trying to do this in the fusion tab in DaVinci resolve

Edric - please could you point me at the source of your good comps. I prefer your style of tutorial (and tooltorial) however it can be hard to see everything at your blistering speed of delivery. vfxpedia points to Blackmagic these days and I fear some of the gems in the comps may be lost!

Sheet piling are those solid "metal walls" that hold the concrete slip. At 1:00 we're pushing the paddle against the lower sheet piling. Pretty much the same spot that ate my ankle a few minutes later...;-)

@tsunami30003000 Well...Vista as well as Win7 (32 and 64 bit) are supported for sure, and have been for a long time...;-) You might encounter driver issues with your ATI though. Please send a mail to tech-at-eyeonline-dot-com, so we can help to sort out the problem.

@vaasung Derek is right. But know that After Effects does not provide true 3D avenues. Its more of a 2.5D illusion to be 3D. Fusion allows real 3D implementation by importing FBX files. So if you are a hardcore 3D guy, you might find Fusion handling your needs. Fusion does not render with sound, After Effects does. I use After Effects but at times, use Fusion for 3D props. Both are ideal to use on top of your design needs.

vaasung - AE is layer based and Fusion is node based. You can accomplish the same goal in both. Basically, it comes down to which one you find more comfortable to work with.

Errr....No. No Max at all. The video was recorded using Camtasia. It shows a workflow done in Fusion. Fusion is available from eyeon Software Inc. eyeonline-dot-com.

so you rendered a video in max, then went and edited it in Fusion?

Camtasia is a screen recorder. It's a software that records what happens on your screen. You can then export the video into different file formats.

Actually yes. It doesn't show too good in this low rez quality, but the rightmost 'blue' node is a 3DRender, which ...well...renders the swinging doors into a 2D image. This is then merged over a white background. (i.e. two images are combined). The last tool one would add is a "Saver" after the last Merge which the writes the rendered images to disk.
