CD Lecture Series: Silvio Lorusso
Silvio Lorusso is a writer, artist, and designer based in Lisbon, Portugal. He published Entreprecariat (Onomatopee) in 2018 and What Design Can’t Do (Set Margins’) in 2023. He is an assistant professor and co-director of the Center for Other Worlds at the Lusófona University in Lisbon and a tutor at the Information Design department of Design Academy Eindhoven. Lorusso holds a Ph.D. in Design Sciences from the Iuav University of Venice.

Some of his stuff reminds me of a wave table synth. Basically a table of waveforms that map a transition from one sound to another, and then you oscillate/modulate different parameters of that table in order to create a new sound. A lot of the concepts he's exploring are similar to what you can explore with modular synths, instead he's playing with visual tools instead of audio. Another program to consider is TouchDesigner, which is video synth software.
