Увидев Вас, мой экспрессив предстал фейерверком талантов! Уста, словно пара шебек, что вижу из моря, из мути. А два полукружия век - дуэт лепестков незабудки. Красу дополняют Chanel и архитектурный ансамбль. К Вам ясной добраться сумел сквозь осень, как тысячи сабель! Чернильным ликёром пишу со щедростью всех фараонов! С лакейской душонкой гляжу на чудо с незримой короной!
This was a wonderful setlist and this particular show appeared to have a lot of energy. You guys are talented and a solid Dead tribute band. However I'm a bit disappointed with the show I saw at Hill Country on 10/1. The show was a bit slow and the song selection were a bit disappointing. It was heavily JGB influenced with not much energy and to end it off with Unbroken Chain left a lot to be desired. I was hoping to get a Rubin and Cherise and bit more up tempo GD songs. I was a bit disappointed with that show, hoping to get something a little more upbeat next time around.
Funny - I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. 10/1/24 at Hill Country was one of my favorite shows of the year. The acoustic first set was rare and the debut of I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow garnered one of the best performances of 2024 credit. On the Road Again also got a 5-star rating. Scarlet Begonias, Dancing in the Street and Viola Lee Blues all were plenty upbeat, as well as a rare Jack Straw post-drums. Unbroken Chain is a beautiful song and incredibly difficult and demanding to play - that's why most other GD bands don't do it and it's one we will continue to feature in our repertoire!
By the way - I really do appreciate feedback about the set list experience as I strive to be really thoughtful when putting them together! Our shows are all very uniquely curated - so some shows will be a bit mellow, some will be more banging. But we do strive to make each show a diverse and singular experience! I didn't think that 10/1 show was particularly mellow (in my opinion), it actually lacks a true ballad after drums. In place of a Stella or Wharf Rat or something like that is the swampy second line groove of Don't Let Go that I think has a nice pulse - even the Unbroken encore eschews a ballad in that spot - like a Brokedown or Black Muddy.
