Taft High School Graduation Rehearsal 1986 (Part 1)
Taft class of '94 here. I realize it's been 23 years since he passed but RIP Principal Berz. Really nice to see him here at 3:36, at an earlier point in his time at Taft from my time there - he always seemed like a good guy. Also, RIP Mel Hein, long time track/cross-country coach at Taft, and a wonderful mentor and friend.
@01:06 I had the hatchback version of the light blue Honda, if it wasn't for someone rear ending me I would still be driving that beast of a reliable car. Great vid
1986 Steven is gay. 2022 Steven is gay, not that there is anything wrong with that. Don't think there were any gays before the year 2000.. From 82- 86, I didn't go to school with anyhow was gay They were there, but they weren't there? Having, Pretending to be somebody there not the whole time they were in school.

Periodt sister
Steven is gay just think how offended ever one would be today? Fuck I miss those day's ,before everyone was offended by everthing.
This isn't my experience but I love seeing a real glimpse into the past. I graduated this year actually, and I must say the boys then act just like the ones now a hah. But wow so 80s ♡•♡
I must add, everything else is so different! I wish I could live in a time like this
Awesome
woah
Was this in los angeles?
Donny Tucker yes
Woodland Hills?
@@sinqros yup
0:35 rewind it a little haha
Is it me or were people more social back in the day? Even the girls seem pretty approachable compared to now where most girls will just ignore you. Also, I like more their 80s style of clothing, compared to now. There's no doubt the 80s was one of the best decades to grow up in, not to mention that music back in those days was much better than most of the garbage that we listen to at the radio.
jchv88 I agree, I wish I was a teen in the 80s. Also the 70s and 90s were great too, but the 80s just seem to pop out more.
this was my graduation, how come I've never seen this?
This is crazy, Ice Cube was a freshmen lol.
Long Gone wow this was ice cube school
I graduated at Taft on that day, didn't see myself in the video.
This is so awesome. Just seeing this for the first time. Thanks so much for posting. I love the big hair and all the cool people :)
4:57, Liora Natelson was killed in 1996 when she collided with a bicyclist in Central Park. www.nytimes.com/1996/08/14/nyregion/skater-dies-of-injuries-after-collision.html
Why..why comment that 😭
I graduated from high school in 1987. The morning of graduation was graduation rehearsal. The principal came up at the end and started telling us what we should and shouldn't do. She mentioned being there on time, dressing properly, and not coming in under the influence of alcohol. From the very back, someone screamed WHAT ABOUT POT???? True story.
Then in my row on grdution night, someone snuck in a bottle of champagne under their graduation gown, made large straw during the ceremony, then popped the cork t the end & we all drank champagne from it. That was my first time having champagne...lol!!! Such great memories!!!
I don't believe this is a true story Too far fetched
Lmao
this is crazzyy awesome
That means Ice Cube is a freshman!!! GO TAFT!!!
Ahhh . . . the good old days . . . No Internet, no cell phones, no text messaging, no iPhones. Just enjoying life . . . Rockin to 80's music . . . thanks again Jeff Greg Rostami
Jeff, Thank you so much for taking the time to digitize and annotate the names of everyone on these videos. This brings back so many memories for me. What a great blast from the past. All the best to you, Greg Rostami
OMG Jeff Berger looks like Kyle from South Park with out his hat on. Was the character based on him?
