This is a beautiful song written by Melbourne composers Paul Wiltshire and friend. My friend, and ex-band member, Paula Michelle does a fantastic job on vocals. Well worth a listen. Please share this song to promote love in a world in need of more.

So fantastic Song.
Another oh so brilliant song. What a tragedy that the record company was not on board for this material or for Barry to go heavier and have a band or be in a band.
In the beginning. I wrote this as an instrumental piece until Barry put the lyrics, following the guitar melody, and turned it into the beautiful composition it finally became. He was more talented than he was credited for in the day.
@Scotsmanify Ah, I thought the lyrics may have been Barry's words. I think Barry lacked confidence as a songwriter and also kept being pushed back into a box by the record company 😔. I feel his talent has never truly been recognised or acknowledged. He should have had more success. I am so grateful that you explained how this song 🎵 was written ❤️ 💖. I love this song very much. To me, it is a timeless song, a classic but so very true, moving and with a hauntingly beautiful feel. I married a musician ( Gerry has been a singer, guitarist ,songwriter, bassist etc since he was 15 or so and has a home studio downstairs ) , he has put up with my passion for music 🎶 by Barry especially over the years ( as well of course for his music or his co work on singles) , we have been together for over 4 decades now 😅 . Gerry also love your band's music with Barry. Thank you so much for sharing this. I created videos for all the songs Barry wrote with you. One is not yet finished. A few will be shared in the near future, I think I have 2 or 3 published so far. I am blessed by being friends with 2 dedicated collectors from Germany who have worked over the years on remastering songs , turning one or was it 2 of the bands songs from mono to stereo. They are huge life-long fans and have been so kind. Wishing you a lovely weekend, Warmest regards, Tia 😊
Love this song so much, love all the songs. It must have been an exciting time.
Brilliant, love those songs.
Love this so much, love the witty lyrics.
Brilliant stuff, I wish the record company would have let Barry continue with your band , wrote more songs with you all performed with you as this would have led to the path of rockier music which was what was happening then. Instead they wanted him pigeonholed in a certain category. It makes me still sad. I love all the songs . I love the way you had such heavy songs and with such incredible harmonies.
Merci beaucoup il a une voix notre Barry il est magnifique je l'adore toute sa discographie bravo Paul et Barry je vous renvoie tout mon amour la haut sur votre étoile ❤❤❤❤
Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤
Magnifique j'adore ❤❤❤
How I wish there was some footage from this band when they were performing with Barry Ryan. I would love for someone to unearth a recording from The Top of the Pops performance, perhaps someone has this somewhere still lying around and it will still find its way to the fans. I also wish the record company would have been smarter and allowed Barry to perform with this band. It would have been great to see how the music would have evolved. Again thank you so much for the music 😍🤩
Apparently, there was a fire at the BBC archives and some of the recordings from early 1972, ours included, were destroyed. Thanks for your comments. 🙂
@@Scotsmanify Thank you for your reply, this is so sad to read.Wishing you a happy festive season.
Love this , almost got a 'Paranoid' feel yet much more melodic and sung so perfectly with great harmonies. This song has its own identity and feel, 100% pure gold. Thank you so much for all the wonderful music and songs from our teenage years. Love from Tasmania, Tia
Excellent! 🙏✌️☮️🎸🎧
Beautiful harmonies 💞.
Can you really feel it? If you do, you got it!
Me gusta mucho la canción Eloisa de Barry Ryan siempre la oigo incluso el vídeo de la misma
Your voice is as beautiful as I knew it would be!! Nice meeting you tonight!
Congrats!! What a voice! Shine sister, shine!
Saw Verge at the Greenock Arts Guild. The other bands that night were Heidi and local band Inner Sound. It really was a cracking night. All three bands were terrific but Verge just had that bit extra. A great memory.
beautiful... still and always. So much emotion and heart in your voice! <3
I had the honor of working with Paula for a few months and got to know what a beautiful person she was.
always love your voice, extraordinairy!!
Thank you Scotsmanify and Barry for this beauty, I really like it!
Another work of art by Barry and The Verge! Thanks to both, I enjoy it every day!

@@Scotsmanify Ok, either way thank you very much for your participation in this song and for sharing it!
Thanks Scotsmanify for this and the other songs that you did with Barry. I know he is not a bad person, but I do not know why he never answered your calls; anyway, thank you very much for the legacy and to upload them to YT, they are beautiful.

Sie sind unglaublich.
Aus dieser Verbindung:The Verge und Barry Ryan gefällt mir dieses Lied am besten.
Gefällt mir gut.
Great Song ! Do you have a List from all the Songs you`ve done with Barry ? Because I know some Songs on Acetate from the early 70`s with Barry, like Midnight Trampoline and others.
Thank You very much for uploading 2 more demo acetates from Barry with the Verge . It will be a pleasure if more songs done at De Lane Lea Studios will appear here on UA-cam
Stefan, I appreciate your interest and will load more as they come available.
Excellent song.On the Facebook website about the Verge one more video has been released "Alimoney Honey Blues".Is it possible to upload that one on UA-cam too.??Is there more to come??
Alimony Honey Blues and I Think You Know My Name, are now uploaded on You Tube.
Thank You soooo much for sharing these 4 Songs. "Storm is brewing" and "All thoughts of time" sound a little different compared with the released Version to me at first listening..Are there more tracks available from this period Barry did spent with your group in the seventies?

Thought I might as well share my time with Barry Ryan and, MOST REMEMBERED, the guys in THE VERGE..... I was picked to write with Barry because I listened to the records and picked out the parts for the band to play (apart from drumming. I didn't know what the F**k Jim was doing) But didn't need to..... He was great!.....as was Gordon, Charlie and Bill!...... I worked out the structure, riffs and chords etc, Barry created the lyrics and most of the melodies..... but the rest ...of the band worked out the feel and created their own parts in these recordings. Looking back, for the time....... I'm proud of what we did. Too bad Barry Ryan has never mentioned us, or acknowledged the fact that this , and other songs we wrote together did not belong to him alone!...... I have tried several times to contact Barry to no avail...... Whether it's him or his "people" I don't know..... At the time I thought he was a genuinely, nice guy.
@@Scotsmanify It's a shame all you say, I wish it hadn't happened all that and that The Verge would have received recognition and remuneration for his work. I admire you because you're not spiteful and yet you share these excellent compositions and give Barry their respective credit. I'm your fan. Many, many thanks.

@@Scotsmanify I feel pretty certain the men in the suit had a lot to do with this. Not sure if you heard an interview with Barry from the 2017 or so where he talks about how disappointed he was how the record company reacted, ( I hope this is OK to share here publicly as I have no proof of what I remember but he told me, a long time ago in the 70's, that his dream had always been to be in a band or to have a band and he had thought this was going to happen with your band and from memory he had to argue for these songs to be put on an album. They did not wish for Barry to sing heavier songs nor be with a band. They wanted Barry pigeonholed in a certain way and what your songs were not the way forward, such a bad move. I feel if Barry did not reply it was that he was under a lot of pressure and also there was no way for him to change things. From an early age Paul and Barry did as they were told by record companies etc and I believe it was ingrained in their ethics. They believed it was how you worked. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.Warmest regards from Tasmania, Tia
