you're right, people put crypto in D tier because they don't understand it and it's hard to play

Hes really good but a annoyance to play with in pubs because for crypto to be good you have to acknowledge him and use his abilities together with the team hes great in ranked and competitive

Crypto currently has the second highest win rate of any legend amongst the top 100 ranked players. He is usually a top 8 pick in ALGS pro league the last couple of years (though currently he is more popular in APAC region and dropped off in NA.) Anybody who thinks Crypto is trash is frankly self-reporting by projecting their own lack of skill, and/or is just too ignorant or casual to notice the raw data (information issue is a pretty on-brand problem for Crypto.) He is a solid B+. He's a specialist pick that sits just outside the meta, but is still plenty strong in the right hands and the right team comp. All that said, he's got a PR problem because of a high skill floor... and I say that is also due in part to overly clunky ability controls. He often has the lowest pick rate because he isn't "fun" to use. Many blame it on the play style of the ability kit itself, but I'd suggest it's really an issue with how it feels to control it. The drone deployment time and distance buffs helped a bit. Towards this goal I'd suggest the perk to call out nearby squads count also be baked into his base kit, and put another buff in that perk slot instead. This would encourage the bad Crypto players to avoid staying in drone, clumsily flying around to check map banners or look for enemies unnecessarily... And let good players fight smarter in the early game (knowing when you can take a fair 3v3 or to be careful since a third party is near would be valuable data early-to-mid game... much less so by the time you *currently* unlock that perk.)

Drone should be able to follow him like vantages bat the noise from the drone keeps it balanced. Besides that he is not much fun to play solo imo , in a 3 stack he can be very very good and a lot of fun

Could have just pointed out a few key points. 1) crypto is like an rp vacuum when you use his drone and ult correctly. 2) people need to utilize the drone toss more instead of actually using drone because one it often distracts players (especially ones who are generally bad at the game or dont play often) and 2) because on the flip side it scans for your team. 3) understand his perks and he quickly becomes one of the best surveillance characters. The perk that announces squads in the area plus ult regen is incredible. If you wanna play crypto my advice is to first seperate your mind from his kit and play like he is any legend then once you are used to that, start drone throwing. Eneter the drone only when super necessary

Been using crypto this season, got upto diamond rank so far and he pairs really well with bang and pathy, love the tac cool down perk and the enemy call out one
