    Why on earth are you suggesting that it might be a good idea to get a breastfed baby to take a bottle, especially from as early as infancy? Unless the baby must be weaned from the biological mother for reasons of her not being able to proceed with nurturing her child, why on earth would you speak as though this a normal and acceptable thing to do in a baby who has already successfully established breastfeeding? Introducing a bottle in the early stages of breastfeeding (ie the first few weeks) has the potential to saboutage successful breastfeeding.

    How dare you claim that ADs are 'considered very safe': The facts of the matter show otherwise, for example research that concludes definitevely a link between SSRIs and autism in babies of mothers taking ADs during pregnancy. In this article "the association between prenatal exposure to antidpressants and autism". How dare you promolgate misinformation for the sake of the profits of drug companies and a medical model that harms people by drugging them with toxins. Before you go citing what you think is the authorative information on the matter, and acting as though you have good advice to give, you should dig a bit deeper and find out the facts.

    Celexa is what is known as a category C medication. That means that while animal studies have shown some adverse effects on fetuses, no adequate studies have been done in human women. In rat embryos, taking citalopram daily led to reduced fetal growth, low birth weight, lower survival rates and increased rates of skeletal and cardiovascular defects. That said, there are currently no “adequate and well-controlled studies” of the adverse effects of citalopram in pregnant women according to the FDA, which means little is known about its risk in humans. In short, more research is needed. For the time being, most pregnant women are advised to cease taking citalopram for the health and safety of their embryo or fetus. There are, however, some exceptions to note. If they apply to you, your answer might not be so simple. Should You Stop Taking Celexa if You’re Pregnant? According to the FDA, the only circumstances in which citalopram should be taken during pregnancy is if the potential benefits outweigh or justify the risks to the fetus. What that means depends on your unique circumstances and needs. There are, to put it bluntly, a lot more clinical studies showing the harmful effects of alcohol on a fetus than Celexa (at the moment, anyway). If your mental health condition means you might not be able to adequately care for yourself - such as struggling to eat or maintain an appropriate quality of life - without medication, continuing to take an antidepressant drug like Celexa throughout your pregnancy might be the right course of action for you. In these cases, the potential danger far outweighs the current known risks. Discontinuing Celexa isn’t something you should do without a healthcare provider’s supervision. Depending on your dosage, they may wean you off gradually to reduce your chance of withdrawal symptoms - which can be serious. What we’re getting at here is this: don’t panic, and don’t do anything rash like flushing your prescription. The first thing you should do isn’t act - it’s talk.

    0.30: "but as far as anti-depressants go, most anti-depressants are considered very safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding". the people who consider psychoactive agents to be 'safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding' are a lethal combination of ignorant arrogance. A fairer statment might be that when evaluating the risk/benefit of stopping SSRIs during pregnancy or breastfeeding the risks of discontinuing (especially suddenly) may appear to outweigh the ongoing damage of flooding a developing brain with neurotoxins. After the first false statment in this video, I have listened no further, recognising that this person is regurgitating documented information that is accepted by a medical model captured by big pharma.

    I'm 7 weeks and just said to my partner this evening that after birth I want to settle into being a new parent for 2 weeks before any visitors and he just hit the roof saying I'm unreasonable and it's "weird" for me to withold the baby as a newborn from his parents and that they would want to hold their new grandbaby. He didnt understand at all when I tried to explain that his parents had that chance with their own children and that it will be our turn. He also was shocked when I said I didn't want his mother with me while giving birth and seemed to think I was foolish for not wanting her "advice" while I'm pushing out my baby!! I told him i will be happy to have a gentle conversation with his parents to explain my expectations postpartum regarding visitation

    What is considered short term?

    • @mypuredelivery
      @mypuredelivery 11 місяців тому

      this one is the starter SNS, and is meant to be used just while teaching baby to latch effectively on their own. It can be used until it wears out, usually up to about 20 uses. We typically see moms replace it with a long-term SNS after a few days, if it's going to be needed for a while.
