My old boss and I made a way to do this too. He had a buggy thing that had a bed in it and so we stuck 2x4s in the slots of the bed and cut a hole in them and placed the spool on there. I held one end and he drove it to the other side. Gotta say I really liked these path lights. Plug in the bulbs anywhere. If a critter chews through the wire you can make a plug there instead of replacing the whole thing. It’s honestly nice.

The goat is an amazing tool. Except when you're working off to the side and forget about your center of gravity, so it kicks in the opposite direction. (I ended up putting industrial rubber on the underside of each handle. Works like an absolute charm.)
