Just top to bottom runs of great downhill MTB trails. Based in Wollongong but riding as many trails as I can. Check back for new trails being added to the trail vault.
In my local area there are so many amazing trails however many are unsanctioned. This channel aims to showcase them, but not spoil them so for all unsanctioned trails I list the name and region only and not the exact locations. If you are a trail builder and have an issue with the video, reach out.

Wouldn't the offset naturally increase when you add the 29? I'm looking into doing this atm but im find conflicting info about the offset
@@paulallen3031 the offset is fixed by the fork, you can never change it. The trail increases as you raise the front so you can reduce it by increasing the offset of your fork - but you need a new fork to do this.
@TrailVaultMTB Thanks, that makes sense my current fork is 42mm so I'm guessing it would make sense to go 44mm?
@@paulallen3031 yep higher the better if you want to keep your geo the same. Going +2mm though probably wouldn’t make a noticeable difference so probably not worth it unless your looking to upgrade anyhow.
Absolutely smashed this good job
Mate, you crushed that trail 🔥🔥
Thanks, great trail! 🙌
Sick! I’m going here tmwr hope it will be fun
Looks like you’re riding really fast 💨
@@pascalsavy1306 trying to! Thanks.
Gosh I love this trail..!
@@thomast4488 one of my favourites also!
@@thomast4488 Need to meet up there for a ride soon :)
Are you back on 27.5 front and rear? Which one do you prefer? Trying to decide if it’s worth mulleting my Kenevo.
I’ve kept it as a mullet, definitely like the mullet setup so won’t be changing back to 27.5”. You won’t regret it!
@@TrailVaultMTBthanks dude
Looks fun Zeb!
Thanks Nick, will have to tee up a morning ride sometime!
Great riding, and congrats on KOM. Your video is really smooth too. Wouild love to know your settings. Was this on a GoPro?
@@OldFartsMountainBiking-wu2fo thanks 🙏 Shot on GoPro 12, 4K 60fps with max stabilisation. Chin mount for POV.
@@TrailVaultMTB awesome, thanks for the settings. How do you avoid hearing your breathing, or are you just heaps fitter than me :)
@@OldFartsMountainBiking-wu2fo can confirm I’m breathing hard! never had any issues picking up that sound though , could be the camera?? Not sure!
I normally run with a chest mount. I will try the chin guard mount next, cheers 🍻
Did you need a special link to convert it to a mullet, or you just changed the flip chips of the bikes? Can you explain how you converted it? I'd like to do on mine. Thank you!
I did not put a link in which is why I specifically wanted a triple crown fork to keep the geometry as close to stock as possible. You won’t notice the difference in handling as long as you pay attention to fork offset/axle to crown. Just run the highest offset you can and keep the travel at stock or 10mm below and you’ll be fine.
@@TrailVaultMTB thank you!
Thanks! All pretty straightforward with enough speed but can be hard to hold speed out of a couple of corners. Nail the berms and you’ll be all good!
Nice riding mate, you make it look easy! I definitely struggled on the bigger jumps on this trail, but it's still really fun!
Flyyyying dude! Sick run 🤘
Cheers mate!
Nice mate, what camera you using? Very clear 👍
Thanks mate! Using a GoPro hero 12.
Looks like a fun flow trail
Short and sweet but all the trails at Uki are well built and good fun!
Analog run looked way faster on dirty south. Cant believe that was actually slower? That run down sir bishop on the eeb was blistering fast! Wow! You sicko haha!
Thanks mate🙏. Yeah interesting you thought the same. It felt faster too. I think maybe because you can go faster in the sketchier spots on analogue it is faster there but e-bikes make up easy time out of corners so end up faster overall, maybe? 🤷♂️.
That was frickin sick dude! That trails looks like a dream 🤘
Thanks! Not sure who Steve is but I’m a fan :). Trail is epic, super fast and Flowy, pump or jump!
@@TrailVaultMTB Bro! I love Steve, who ever he is 😂 Well ridden trail mate. Killed it!
but does it really count skipping all the A lines ?
A lines are spicy for sure, and faster. Unfortunately this was in the wet and was pretty slick so stuck to the safe lines :)
I really liked that trail
So sick!
What bike is this?
Specialized Kenevo!
Pinned!
Looks good!
That tree! 😳 Nice riding! Narooma looks sick!
This was a blind lap and was clearly not looking ahead! Was a close one. Cheers.
Nice one !
Thanks!
good riding and trail looks nice and fun but shame they have rated this as a black trail. Give us some tech!
I enjoy some tech nerdery. Currently have my 40 at 185mm using the Chris porter pressure equalisation method. With the stanchions raised through the crowns by 7mm, which still gives clearance, the a2c is 580mm. For a nearly 5 year old bike, the gen2 kenevo really is quite remarkable.
How do you find that method to work, no problems??
@@TrailVaultMTB it works fine, very supple off the top. However back to back i preferred the higher front end with the full 203mm, so thats how its staying. Saves me spending a ton of money on a 190mm airshaft which i had been considering.
@@markcosens1 nice, I read about this method but wasn’t sure if it would be a hassle to maintain pressure so cut my spring down to 180mm instead - easy and works well.
Amazing to see how well you manage this bike to get so fast and so high in jumps. I barely can lift it in the air yet
They are very capable bikes, all you gotta do is keep riding and keep challenging yourself and you’ll soon be sending it 🙌
Interesting vid. Run a mullet with a 203mm fox40, a2c at 595mm. Ideallly want a 190mm airspring but they are so expensive. What model fork? Ive never seen a 40 29" with a 51mm offset or 180mm travel.
I think it’s technically the 52mm offset, I just measured it myself at 51mm so used this value. You are correct, the airspring does not come in 180mm from factory, only 203 and 190. I cut down and rethreaded a 203mm airspring to make a 180mm airspring. Might make a video on how to do this.
@@TrailVaultMTB gotcha. I couldn't see the arch in the video so thought it was perhaps an older 49 with a mojo or similar custom crowns.
@@TrailVaultMTB im looking at reducing my 40 to 190mm. I gather a need some red locktite, a shaft clamp, size currently unknown, and a 10x1mm tap. Anything ive overlooked? Cheers.
@@markcosens1 yep, red loctite and a m8x0.5 tap. You don’t need a shaft clamp necessarily, just clamp lower nut in a vice and heat the lower part of the shaft a little to breakdown loctite, then the lower nut should spin off with a bit of effort (driving from upper nut). Cut, tap, loctite, screw back on and your good to go
Bro is on ittttt 🫡
Such a good trail, you gotta get down to Narooma!
Awesome trail
@@alexwysocki7671 the best! 🙌
Sick ride! I hope u don’t mind me asking, what is the brand of your rig and set up?
@@MaaahksChroniclesnot at all - it’s a specialized kenevo converted to a mullet running a fox 40.
NEW SUBSCRIBER !!! Beautiful !!! Keep riding bro !!! 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the sub!
Great trail vids - really enjoying all your uploads. Keep them coming!
Thanks for the support, got plenty more coming!
Everyone knows a 29er steers tad slower than 26 and 27.5. However, overall it tends to be a faster setup
Sometimes you have to try it for yourself!
Great video mate! I’m running my Kenevo mullet as well and you’ve just saved me some time and money on that curiosity! Two questions: 1. You said you were running an Assegai in the rear. I assume the same up front? 2. Do you remember what tyre pressure you were running on this ride? And awesome riding by the way!
Thanks for the support! Yeah for me feels worse and at best about the same speed so easy choice. For this test I was running assegais all round but usually run a DHR2 on the rear. I had exo+ casings all around with cushcore in rear at around 25psi and 23 psi front no cushcore. Any less and I’ll ding rims on rocks.
Well Done!!
Thanks, appreciate it.
Sick as
Nice Video! Running mine as a Mullet to. I really enjoy the Mullet setup.
Glad to to hear, been getting more and more comfortable on the mullet and loving it too.
This bloke should be given a few demo bikes to review
Beautifully constructed video mate! Dissected it just nicely. I recon if the bb was lower a full 29 would rip on these kenevos
Thanks Beau! Yeah I fully agree and thought the same - 29er is closest to factory geometry except for bb height. I tried the high and low positions for shock thinking the low might get the bb low enough to corner better. Didn’t feel better - guessing because of the super slack HTA, longer trail etc.
Sick as man keep it up❤
Thanks mate!
@@TrailVaultMTB all good man I subscribed
Mate saw your short earlier and commented haha ive also got a turbo kenevo and that run is abit tough on the sluggish ebike right? Cant wait to get it chipped so it will accelerate above 25kms
Yeah was a little easier on the analogue for sure but definitely doable on the stock kenevo with a bit of practice and commitment I think. I didn’t get a clean run finished as I got rained out after a couple of laps and am not local so this was the best I got!
@@TrailVaultMTB I got the kenevo a few months back and it's been raining most of time so I've hardly ridden it haha I admit I've got alot of progression to go? Plus it's been approx 20yrs since I've seriously done jumps etc and that was on a bmx! I'm still getting used to the larger ebike with full suspension regarding timing, pop etc etc Man they're great bikes though. Love it
I’ve never really seen anyone clearing this line clean. It seems like it needs way more speed and huck than even a lot of skilled rides have. I’m mediocre at best and there’s no way I even get close to not casing.
@@dave_granfield yeah man I agree the gradient and size of the jumps aren't balanced well. The run is quite flat and it's hard to maintain enough speed, especially on an ebike. An advanced rider could do it though.
Good job man. I've got the same bike and so far I'm struggling with those jumps at Uki. Is your bike chipped? Mine isn't yet
No it’s not chipped, you do need to really rail that berm after the road gap though to get enough speed to clear these. Keep working on it!
More camera angles please
Will work on that.
Cool video and it’s quite interesting. Would a 26/29 mullet work?
Thanks. You could no doubt fit a 26” in the rear, it would exaggerate all the impacts I talk about in the video - steeper head angle, longer trail etc.
Ok thanks.
I changed my 2022 Kenevo to 29" front and rear running 2.4" tyres all round. I'm 6'7" so wanted the bigger wheels and longer wheelbase. I didn't actually run it on the original 27.5" so have nothing to compare it to, but it feels fantastic in 29" form 🤟🏻
Yeah you would make 27.5” look out of place at that height! I’ve got a 29er on the back at the moment too doing some testing. Managed to fit a 2.5 assegai in there without any frame rub so stoked on that.
There's certainly not much that can slow my bike down with the 29ers on! I actually have the opposite problem where I carry too much speed into slippery winter UK corners 😂.
If you haven't already you should switch the offset mount on the lower end of the shock into "high". I run a mullet on my kenevo with a zeb 190mm up front, my head angle is 63deg with the shock in the high position and it feels fantastic.
Awesome, that’s sitting pretty high, you must have the long offset fork? I’m running it in the high mode but for me steering was too heavy with the single crown fork though definitely got used to it.
@@TrailVaultMTB TBH I never really noticed the front being higher than with the old fox38 27.5 setup. The main thing I noticed is the epic speed and I don't ground out quite so much where the BB is a little higher. I run a 65mm stroke shock so it has around 190mm travel on the back too.
If you had a single crown to start with your change would be the same as mine then - i started with a triple clamp from stock so axle to crown change is more significant when going to single crown. Glad you like your bike, I’m really happy with the change also. Keep ripping.
I think the steering flop you feel is probably also due to the slacker head angle
Yeah it probably is, they are all related and slacker hta angle increases trail and wheel flop
Nice run and great quality video. Looks like you had a ripper day. Love that trail.
Thanks 🙏. Lapping Prana and Old Tom and riding straight up the fire trail on the e-bike where some great laps!
Clean and fast. Banger run on a banger trail. 🤌
Thanks, appreciate it 👍
