Ingredients for "Lorraine’s Easy Mexican Hummus"
40 oz Garbanzo Beans*
2 cans Black Beans (15 oz cans)
4-5 Garlic Cloves, medium size
1 tsp Salt
2 Tbsp Tahini (sesame seed butter/paste)
½ cup Avocado Oil (or Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
½ med. Lemon, juice freshly squeezed
½ Lime, juice freshly squeezed
3 large Jalapenos, roasted (or marinated)
¾ tsp Black Pepper
Basically, mix/blend all ingredients in a food processor (or blender) per suggested steps in this video. This recipe can be adjusted to your desired taste, such as additional lemon, lime, jalapeno, etc.
If this recipe makes too much, it freezes well for future enjoyment!
*Budget-friendly tip:
Purchase the very large can from a big-box store like Smart & Final, use what’s needed for this recipe. Then use or freeze the remaining can of Garbanzo Beans for other dishes!
