    With regards to remote work ,I was just wondering what the per cent split is between the "button pushers ", or office workers, and the "grunt workers ", By "grunt workers " I mean jobs that you have to go to work for such as factory workers, tire changers, garbage collectors, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, all people in the Service industry, oil field workers and farmers, etc. etc. etc. . Does any one have a per cent number for this split ? Dad ( a farmer in Saskatchewan )

      Dad, thanks for the question! For sure some jobs can involve remote aspects. In several of my jobs it was a mix; some time spent in the office or at a site, some time working from home on the computer. I guess this, for me, was more around if your job is one that can be done just online. I have had jobs where I was told I had to go into the office, and then I sat all day at my desk doing video calls, which to me I could have done from home. I actually left a good job with a good company to take a job that was "fully remote" so that I could live and work from my farm (not a farm like yours yet, much smaller scale). I am not sure if this answers your question or not, I don't have any data on how many people work remotely, I just know I see many companies wanting people who did, and can work remotely, to go back to the office, and I question the logic of it.

      @@RiskReady101 Yeh, just wondered how many people in Canada had the opportunity to work remotely vs. the physical jobs where you couldn*t. Dad.

      It was definitely a lot higher during the lockdown, however things seems to be shifting back to wanting people to go into the office more. To me it feels like they are trying to keep businesses around offices afloat (restaurants, etc.) or to promote relationship building. I have generally found it to be a not very productive time. Many people do not have the opportunity. I suppose farmers are a work from home class kind of though.

    Is it better with dual pane windows or single pane acrylic ?

    • @RiskReady101
      @RiskReady101 2 дні тому

      As this is my first attempt, I don't know. The window I used is old so no coatings. I am not sure if plastic is better than glass. I have also seen some attempts just using black window screen material. My suspicion is that a single pane of glass might work best, however I don't have any comparisons or technical data to support that.

    Great ideas and useful knowledge. I enjoyed hearing all of it and especially the water gun for a non- lethal. Simple idea but quite effective alternative to mace/bear spray.

      Thanks. There are paintball and airsoft guns too. The water gun one is simple, and a lot of very irritating concoctions can be made to dissuade aggressors, even chili pepper and water!

      Thanks for taking the time to comment. Built will be a wide ranging word! I have built checklists, templates, kits, as well as working on the infrastructure; chicken coop/greenhouse/rabbit hutch almost done, planning a shooting range, more gardens, security gates, the list goes on!
