The Ghosts of Nothing (aka Sean Lowry and Ilmar Taimre) is a fictional “band” that performs an artist function in the contemporary artworld. Just as artists absorb objects and cultural phenomena into a work of art, so too are "bands" typically omnivorous at their definitional borders. The Ghosts of Nothing employ processes of worldmaking to create relationships between concepts and materials and has exhibited, performed, recorded and published their work extensively both nationally and internationally. To date, these multi-modal activates have encompassed three projects - In Memory of Johnny B. Goode (2014-18), Sounds of Unridden Waves (2020-) and Sounds of Clouds (2024-)
