Running the Solduc river on the Olympic Peninsula from 2918 bridge to just past Klahowya, campground took us about 3 hours, lower flows around 700cfs made it bumpy in a couple spots but was clean of wood. Oct 2024

Hobuck Hoedown Supsquatch POV 2024
Переглядів 863 місяці тому
5-6 people on a giant inflatable SUP trying to catch waves, what could go wrong? This was the only team event and the last event, nay, the grand finale of the 2024 Hobuck Hoedown so it had to go down with flair.
Sea Kayak Surfing at La Push 2nd Beach
Переглядів 1023 місяці тому
Launch from 1st beach, and take a quick trip to catch some bouncy waves behind the big sea stack at 2nd beach. Exploring the Olympic Coastline in Washington state. Surf forecast was 3-4 ft from West at 8 sec with little wind at a pretty high tide. Many of the routes I take between rocks are not passable at lower tides.

Taking my kid Kayak fishing for the first time
That's super cool. You guys look like you're having s great time. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Kayaking can take you to such unique places and experiences that I don’t think many other people ever get to experience.
@stokeiometry definitely! My son and I spearfish, like you said, kayaks get us there. I'm not a great paddler like you - I used to be, but it catches up to you (shoulder tears, wrist/elbow issues). So, I'm old and painfully more slow. But I also built houses, rock climbed, mountain biked, distance hiked - not just the kayaks. Good life though! Mostly worth it.
sounds like an adventurous life! as it should be, live and learn, that’s all we can do. can’t really do one without the other or you’re not really doing it right.
hahahahahaha smiling
i agree chris.
it is ridiculous that there are no other comments. this is nothing but good.
omg i would love to have a HoH canoe with you more than anyone else. lolol lolololol this is gold.
what in sam hills is this?
these peps have paddled before. omg dude lets Hoh please omg
it’s the supsquatch!

Yeahhh!
DUDE
Yeah Buddy!
I got a edit for this last season ready to get published soon too, Shoops 3...
where at deception pass is this exactly? i just recently got my ass handed to me kayaking there...
West of the bridge, big westerly winds on an ebb tide
duck dive @ 6:48
does a duck duck or dive when it duck dives?
It's for you a video but it's for me dream i want to stay alone and feel the universe
Glad you enjoy it!
Gotta inflate a little more. Looks like a blast!
It was actually super fun!
I love butt sliding
What’s that first spot yall surfed
Surf spots are something special to surfers and detailed information typically isn’t advertised especially for lesser known spots. Granted I did publish a video on UA-cam doing just that, however the spots in this video are pretty easy to find and access just by using Google earth and they are arguably already well known by the I-5 corridor surfers. Nevertheless I don’t want to ruin the fun of a scavenger hunt for surf because the search is part of the fun of surfing and one of my favorite parts. That’s my disclaimer.
Nice vid 🤙
🤙🏽🤙🏽 mahalo!
Great music selection. Very uplifting!
Cool, a v5 might be the only way I could be out there upright. Still slowly learning my v10 sport in choppy water.
I almost felt like the extra width and somewhat flat bottom on the v5 made it more tippy in the chop and in surfing waves where maybe a more rounded bottom boat feels like it rolls over/through the chop. It might be the difference between the primary and secondary stability built into the different models.
@@stokeiometry interesting, I might need to try one to see.
Noice!
Hopefully they bring the race back one day.
Great video!
Thanks bro, do you produce your own tunes?

That double up reform on the inside looks sick!
It was reminding me of goats
Sweet!!
I've got more footage coming on the way of the storms
I've stood on that Jetty when it was 90 degrees in July. I used to live in Ocean Shores. When October comes. Look out
Have you ever seen anyone surfing out there?
Did you get the kelp stuck under your rudder?
Surprisingly not, its all bullkelp so the tops are pretty thick, i could definitely feel them bouncing off the rudder.
Hah that's funny because there's a beach out there on the strait called Shipwreck point that I surfed ages ago which us what I thought this video was about, that is until I saw that actual shipwreck
Its funny how generic some names are, but no, this is just having some fun in some unlikely opportunities for waves up in Belliingham
Don't think I've seen hoebuck that big lol
It gets bigger for sure
Haha yyyyew big towins at crescent
Nice looks like you scored some chunky groins!
Oh yeah! chunky is a good description!
Where exactly is this surf spot? It is so deserted lol.
I’m going to try to not give location details unless the spot is well known. If everyone knew where it was then maybe it wouldn’t be so deserted. if you can recognize the landmarks then good on you, but I see no need to advertise locations to lesser known nuggets.
@stokeiometry thank you. To the commenter, if you get out and explore you'll find some fun stuff, but we don't need to advertise them
nice lil peak
its got a twin that's a left as well, not sure if you can see it in the vid, it also has a big rock right outside the impact zone.
Cruise down to Charleston, OR...killer setups with no crowds!
I used to live down in Coos Bay for a season, I loved it out there, lots of nooks and crannies depending on the wind and swell. 👌
Nice!
Haven’t been able to check it since but we’ve had some big swell roll through.
Where is this?
not in Washington lol! but fo reals you should know better than to ask on the internet
@@stokeiometry i know this aint washington. Like i recognize its home in the islands. I also recognize the mountains but i dont. If i had to guess its somewhere on the westside of oahu my hometown just dont know
Yo kanakas lmk wen u guys go again i need to get back into the water. I live longview washington now HMU
get good surf down in Oregon, plus plenty canoe clubs in that area too.
Awesome! Looks fun.
Thanks, it always is worth it just to get in the water!
Wow hats off to you for charging this shorebreak. You probably were the only one out too.
I've seen other Hawaiians out there charging the shorebreak one other time, they had the whole sandys vibe setup wit a popup tent in the back of a pickup and reggae music blasting.
Great to hear. I have watched this spot for many years. There was a time it was regularly surfed before it became primarily a shorebreak. Still on occasion gets good besides aside from a shorebreak but even as a shorebreak always surprised more people dont surf here considering all the other shorebreaks surfed around the world. Skim board too@@stokeiometry
I've heard stories of a mythical sandbar that used to be there, but I haven't seen it in the flesh yet.
consistent hollow A frames breaking further offshore with fall- spring southerly offshore winds. Main jetty disrupted sediment flow going north and around into cove and groins jetties also disrupted sediment flow east to west. Spot slowly deteriorate over the decades from those project. City could pump in sediment to help out. But those jetties did produce some good waves eh. @@stokeiometry
That what I've heard about the sediment flux, but nature always finds an equilibrium@@J_Smith7
Noice
Yeah I think thats the spot round these parts.
I want to send you guys some fins to try out.
send it for the boys!
if you’re serious email me at stokeiometry @ gmail. com 🤙🏽
5/4 wetsuit? Curious what your were rockin’, suit, gloves, booties
4/3 but with the full hood gloves and booties. the newer neoprene is way better than the old stuff so I feel like I’m able to get away with a little less rubber
Nice!
Thanks Denise!
Okay, so when are we doing a run?! That rip under the pass you could tell was insane
When was this? Looks fun
A while ago bro! You missed it!
el casco a los chavalillos porfavor!
Is that deception pass?
yep
Woww nice koys you so amazing🥰🥰 contenue vloging koys your content very quality🥰🥰😊
Thanks!
Welcome koys🥰 keep safe always🥰🥰

?
Yeah that was a fun day. I am the guy On the wing foil. I wish I new you where videoing them. I could have made it look even more interesting. they where sure riping it up!!!! Thanks for the fun images. I think that is a place with the potential for standup paddle or prone( with hand paddles ) downwind foiling. For the days when there is not enough wind for the wing. Hopefully when I get the skills down you will see me out there doing that. super cool thanks again!!!
Yeah the downwind isn't as consistent as other spots like the gorge or something but when it goes it really has some juice! Also there's always the issue of getting sucked out by the current if something happens, but if you could make it to the southside of the channel, I think it turns into a giant eddy, or on the northside there is the eddy behind Pass Island you can duck into. Definitely nice to have a spotter on land and a buddy on the water!
Going Forward or backwards :)
Downwind but up-current...
That's my boy!
It was so fun to stumble upon them out there and then run back to my car to get a camera because they were just killing it out there lap after lap!
@@stokeiometry Very cool.
Damens point has changed so much since i surfed it in the 90s
lot of sand has been shifting around nowadays
