Sam what gloves are those ? thank you !!! enjoying your video :)
Icon 1000 Axys. A nice classic look but modern tech! 5000km with them and still new. Can't rly add much info XD
@@SamsSleds thank you very much Sam !! excelent !!
Almost perfect.
Almost! Would benefit from a bigger tank, a softer seat and a better sound!
@@SamsSleds While I agree with everything you said that depends on where you come from and what the intended use is. I even like that she sounds like a 125ccm (it's not a good sound). The sound, weight, and size all fit perfectly to a 44hp 125ccm bike :D
@@lifepolicy so like a small "sleeper" bike? Punch higher than it sound? I do appreciate the small size too. For a 5'8" it feel like we are "one" XD
@@SamsSleds yes kind of a sleeper
Lovely vid, planing to buy my own soon so its a joy watching you ride :D

Merci pour l'information! Donc un fan de Might Car Mods qui roulle au Lac Saint Jean sur un Svart 401!
Hey fait plaisir! J'adore ma 401 même si j'ai aucune comparaison à faire pour l'instant! MCM cherryl box🔥
Which one do you choose between 24 new generation and cheaper used and old generations?
Wow that's a good one! I think the 24 have enought upgrade to be worth it.. if you plan on keeping it! I won't buy new unless.
@SamsSleds I was curious about the price difference between the previous version and the new model [in my country, the previous version which is about 2,000km mileage model(3,600 euro) and the new model(6,200euro) are about half the price], and I asked if the change enough to buy the new model was attractive. Because I'm thinking about buying this bike right now.
@@김신-l3j The biggest difference is the bigger gaz tank (look my test video) and the screen. 4 or 5 more hp won't realy matter.
C'est où ce mur au bout de la route? Quel route? Merci pour le video.

A man and his motorcycle. Simple times!
I learned to wheelie on my 2018 svartpilen 401. Since then I had a wr250x, fz07, fj09, triumph scram 900... just bought a 2023 svartpilen 401. 20 years of riding and I just love this bike!
Nice! I feel like it's a "good for everyone" bike. Basic, well rounded, Hard to hate!
@koolkevbo Nice! How does the Svart compare to the WR250X and FZ07? I've had both of those and loved them for different reasons. About to buy a Svart as it kinda seems like a mix of those two bikes.
Trading it in for the 2024?
The 2024 surely is better! (omg bigger gaz tank) But I'll lose a bunch of money that I need to restore my KZ1300 lol. Also I won't buy the same motorcycle twice.. there is so many to try XD
@SamsSleds Yeah, I understand. I have a 22 Vitpilen with handlebars. I would consider a Svartpilen 901 but that's not coming soon as far as I know.
@@thatguyforsure7819 Yeah I'll love the Norden! Maybe next year you'll see the Svart 901 come out..!
Maudit beau spot les boys!Dans quelle coin du quebec ca💪
How can you Review with out making any explanation and comparison
Simple.. I don't pretend I do XD ..I guess you where looking for a review on YT and fall here. But don't worry you'll find! I have great snowmobile video if you feel like exploring new content!
I fell off my summit today, hit a shallow spot in the powder, turning the same way you did a minute into the video.
Snow can be so unpredictabe XD ..but I don't have this issue right now cause there is none! -.-
Could you do this road if you travaled at 140kmph without heating or anything, im considering into buying svartpilen but i am afraid that it will not support very long rides, for example 220km road with ups and down hills
I think your L/100 (mpg) would explode at 140km/h (small engine) so you could not do 220km. But anyway, a naked is, in my book, too unconfortable at high speed for hours (windy day ever worst). About the heating, I bet it won't if you're not riding death valley. In the end, svart is not a good touring choice... but it can do it. (my friend on his 1290 adventure had a way easier/cozier day hahaha)
It’ll do it but MPG will be ass like the other guy says. The bike is much happier at 120kmh and lower. Over 120 it has to push a little hard to keep its speed and being a small bike with no fairings it’s also uncomfortable. For extended riding 110 is where I keep it at. 220km at 140 kmh won’t happen without a trip to the gas station. If you want to cruise that long at that speed you need a larger bike.
So in the end guys: 401 or 701 for beginner?
401 if you plan on changing someday, if you can't thrust yourself for beeing responsible, if your budget is smaller. 701 if you are responsible, if you plan on keeping it, higher budget (even tho used are pretty cheap so..). Beginner bike is a spectrum XD
I became relatively responsible with all these years and mistakes behind😊 Dreaming of FTR1200, but it’s too way powerful to start with. All moto-friends say definitely 701, arguing that 401 will get boring in 2-4 weeks. I have a lot of bicycle/scooter/car with a manual experience😂
@@pinda_kaas Ho well 701 then! 2-4 weeks not fair I think XD motorcycle are rly fun compare to most car!
@@SamsSleds thanks! Ps. Liked your video. Very lively and realistic.
My experience is that it’s way more dangerous to have a powerful bike when experienced. Then you have balls to actually use the power, which is dangerous😅
really dope raw vid
Hola!
@@SamsSleds muchas gracias ✌️✌️
I would say the 701 is the best motorcycle ever. The 401 is a bit small and underpowered for the highway but still a ton of fun.
The power is not overwelming for sure. Since it's naked I like to go slowish anyway on long trip. Check my range test video XD
I can recommend the LeoVince LV 10, makes the bike even better 👍
Thanks! Would love to. But I'm putting all my money in building a Z1300 1982 and my rising morgage!😅
@@SamsSleds that’s also a good way to spend your money👍 here in Europe the LV10 costs like 250€, it’s not that expensive for a good exhaust
Nah I just ditched my lv-10 on it. Too loud
@@bayly1977 Ho rly? I would love a better sound but I love hitting full throttle in town and nobody care.. so stock it will stay I guess XD
@@bayly1977 it’s really not that loud, I go to university every morning and none of my neighbours said anything. Other exhausts are way louder and if you keep the cat it‘s always a normal and good sound.
It's my first bike ever so yes it's obviously the best haha. To be honest the biggest con for me is the fact that single cylinders are really not smooth and in Paris in big traffic when I'm switching between first and second gear, braking, switching gear again, I feel like I always need to use the clutch when I put gas again because if I don't the engine isn' happy. I wish it was more smooth.
Oui c'est un bon point! IHere there's absolutely no traffic.. Me it was more about the range. But I tested it in my new video
I have loved mine 🙏 but sometimes feel like it could have some more cc. But then again would not be fun on gravel roads with a bigger bike. 😅
Amen! Im out for a 240km no gazpump road right now! Stay tune to find out if I make it 🤣
@@SamsSleds good luck 🤣
It's a small and handsome bike, really fun to ride.
is it single cylinder or multiple?
Single but it rev to 11 000 Rpm. Maybe a little more.
@@SamsSleds then is the 701 more than one cylinder? I personally love multiple cylinder sound, the reason I have got myself a triple cylinder Trident 660
@@Sourabhsudhir007 nope still single. Until they use the 790 or 890 from ktm it will stay single.
@@SamsSleds The new 901 will use the inline twin from the 890.
@@Win7ermu7e buying adventure I would for sure take the Norden. Are you saying the svart and vit will upgrade too??
This bike was love until i realised my legs are built like doraemon and i cant ride this one😢
Yeah it's kinda tall. But so Light. It help XD
Ever feel underpowered? How playful is the 600? I love the reliability of them but im stuck between a 600 and 800.
Yeah you hit the nail. It's reliability vs Hp. The 600R (not HO) is 75% the HP of the 850. So it is powerful but not enough to wheely a 154. (I would have choose the 146 if I knew) But I would choose a 600R again since we are at sea level. Never broked a strap and my track is minth!
Just ask if you have more questions.
@@SamsSleds Awesome. Thanks!
@@SamsSleds Have you ever considered doing the adjustable limiter strap to help with the playfulness?
@@dominicrieff1297 Yeah I moved "2 holes" looser and it helped! (default was rly tight) But I like to ride with my spring stiff.. and that does not help XD
You just got a new subscriber ❤
Nice elan
Thanks! Motor fully rebuild so compression is up the roof!
Is it a 146
Nope 154. But I would try 146 now that I'm used to a mountain Sled! (the shorter, the more playfull and agile)
@@SamsSleds my buddy has a 146 and it wheelie like hell

go drop of some mountain or something. this is just pathetic
it does not sound like de 600r has 8200rpm, sounds like 6500
And you are right! My P-drive was set to #2 click. The 3 screw for setting it where completely stuck from factory. Now I'm at #5 and it reach 7800 (peack hp) easy. Check my 2 newest video, you can see the RPM when the tips are pointed into the sky! So not a 600r problem, just bad setting.
tell you what it looks like a lot of fun doing this old sled rally but it like 12 hours from me .
Yeah you would need to assemble a team to make it worth! And go ride federate trails too to make it more worth.
wow look all that snow and it middle of march
From the beginning i see you’re a lot braver and better at driving than last season. 🤩
Thanks! It was my third winter with it and I feel more and more confortable on it. Less scared to hold the thottle XD
i love your vids
Have you tried doing a wheelie from flat with it?
Yeah. Not happening. My cluth is on the wrong setup tho.. and my limiter strap is at ''medium''. There's not much snow for the tail to go down.. it could also be that a 600R 154'' cannot do it XD
@@SamsSleds my friend has a 600r 146 with a homemade clutch kit it wheelies insanely good
@@jokris0755 hoooo would love to try this. Ill setup my sh*t the right way. Maybe it will be enought.
Does it lack power cause of the 154 of is the 600r motor enough?
I don't fell like it lack power. 600 etec (not ho) from nowaday are as powerful as 800 from a decade ago! I also run at sea level (no loss of power). But if you are use to turbo busa maybe you'll need more. XD
Pretty comfortable to drive on trail?
You can buy the two up seat, wich is way more comfy and easy to swap depending on your day plans. And you have to slowdown in corner because the summit is narrower. The T-motion is less comfy than the C or R-motion too but... in the end it's still a modern snowmobile with modern suspension so it will be descent!
If you really want a summit and don't care about loosing top speed and cornering (cause the track should'nt be push to top speed) well go for it! But if you ride more trail and sometimes off-trail... ask the dealer about the other models i'd said. Or ask me! XD
Sounds like its not reving out, adjust the primary! :)
Yeah? I tought it didn't sound like the pro's because it's a 600 XD I should check you're right.
0:26 R.I.P tree
Target fixation syndrome -.- ..poor target
ngl it kinda looks like to me that you guys dont know how to drive in the mountains.
Kinda look like we dont have mountains! XD Only hills. Tons of hills with tons of trees on them. But you still uncover my secret... Im a "mountain sled" noob! That's only my second year of sleding with something other than a tundra. And with only 7 or 8 days of sleding this season... we barely had 2 or 3 feet on the ground. You cannot spin your track without hiting something. I would be curious how easier it would be to train on huge zone with constant slope. Anyway I still like comments on my vids!
@@SamsSleds how do you think a sp 600r 154 will perform? do you think its too long of a track and it will lack power or would it have enough?
@@jokris0755 If your clutch is well adjust, if you don't ride at hight altitude, if you don't plan on always wheeling, 125 HPish is enough. There's a lot of benefit from a smaller CC (temp, fiability, gaz, price, etc) but if you can afford a 850 and you're NEVER going on trailz... take the bigger one XD I never tow my sled so it need to run cool on trail too and I'm at see level so no HP lost!
@@jokris0755 I would like to try a 600r 146 to see the difference. I bet it will feel more playfull if you don't have too deep snow.
@@SamsSleds well i got on trails but rarely and i would most likely use my other touring snowmobile if i plan to go on a long trail run or to do erands like fill up water for the cabin since theres no electricity or water just a house far away where you get water from and a generator
