What type pf needle did you use? Also what was the tension? I just did it with fabric that was 95 polyester 5 lycra, used universal needle the size was 70/10. The final finished showed the thread a bit loose.

Finally an easy way to do my athletic shirts !! This works without pulling my shirt or missing stitches.. I used a spray bottle with water when I was done, and the paper peeled off really easy .

Brilliant, works! I used brown paper just on the top side. It is quite easy to put a bit of tension in the fabric and control it. ps, don’t bother with a zigzag stitch!

I'm an old guy. A do-it-yourselfer. I've done just about everything - carpentry, landscaping, plumbing, electrical and on and on... but not any real sewing. I was looking for window-dressing ideas and fell in love with some drapes I saw on UA-cam. I decided to make them myself, thinking, "How hard could it be? All you have to do is sew some straight lines!" I chose a satin-like polyester fabric and a cotton liner, bought a sewing machine and jumped right into it. Your sympathies will be appreciated. 😵‍💫
