One key point I forgot to mention is that these heroes are much safer against early agression, since their hero status gives them resistances and bonuses to myth units as well as some extra stats. At the end of the day, you do you. I don't miss the resources whatsoever with this build so I prefer it when starting 10 citizens :)

Think it only takes 6 mins for gaia to recoup the investment, but you'll use up your hunts a lot faster. This does seem to make more sense if you're playing 1TC. Can have a sweet .5 vil lead (lol) at the 8 minute mark while their 2nd TC is still a couple mins away from paying off.

@@dolphincup If they take a 2nd tc, you should just take one yourself and then be ahead with hero citizens and more eco ups.

@jackroper1848 yes you can and generally you should i think but it doesn't leave you in a good position. Thor's only bonuses are economic. If you're not ahead in economy you got nothing going for you. And many other gods will be ahead in economy i feel if they go fast second TC. Basically Thor invests a lot in early armory upgrades to get 4 extra dwarfs but an opponent getting an extra TC earlier will catch up, gods like Gaia and Ra are even ahead i feel. The key to Thor i think will be finding a build that gets just ~2-3 extra dwarfs early but either drops a second TC fast as well or is so aggressive that you can force 1 tc play. But i think it's impossible now and Thor feels kinda weak as a result.

To get the villagers to drop of their food and return to work quickly. Note that I didn't have enough food to advance before ringing the town bell while I had plenty afterwards.

In theory a 2nd ox build makes more sense yes. But in reality get much, much less scouting done as you will still need to build an armory and a house.

Sure but does scouting have that much value really to gimp your build like that? You get some more sheep, that's it. Otherwise just go up by freya to have the Valkyrie scout. Extra berserk early just really hurts your eco a lot. It's 2/3rd of a villager less by idling tc that long. This will have 'costed' you 4 villager minutes by minute 6 which is basically 2 hersirs. I think you have to do the build with minimal scouting because the cost is just too high to get another berserk. Thor is just weaker on maps with many sheep. The berserk can go scouting after your temple and early on a little bit and if you need more i would just suggest Freya and raiding cavalry.

@@markvanderwerf8592 It really depends on the matchup. Having additional scheep can make the difference of being able to reach heroic or not. An early farm transition really sets you back a lot. Besides that's only the measurable advantage of scouting. It also gives you valuable info on the map layout and what your opponent is doing allowing you to respond accordingly. Having a valkery do scouting is nice and all but all the sheep will be claimed at that point. Besides on certain match-ups Forseti is much better. Your math is way off by the way. You don't get 2/3rd villager fewer by making a beserk first. You get the same amount of villagers, they will all just spawn 9 seconds later. This will amount to 135seconds (minus the ox cart build time) if you age up with 15 villagers like I did in this video (2 were from the armory)

@@IamMirezNL them all spawning 9 secs later is the same as just being down 2/3rd villager.. just like being down 1 villager is just the same as your new villagers spawning 15 seconds later. My math isn't off. And sure the sheep can be important, i just highly doubt it's enough of a deal to warrant the high cost. Even if you go for a second berserk it's definitely not needed to make it that early.

Like on AoT it can be build in the Archaic age and you have an additional tier of upgrades above Iron mail/weapon/shields. However in Retold it also spawns a dwarf whenever you finish an armory upgrade. This means you want to finish the first upgrades as fast as possible which is exactly what this build order does.

No it's starts researching faster the moment you advance. You can see it in this video if you look closely to copper weapons in the top-left.

I would even argue that this speaks for the 2TC Rain Build since farms provide more safety and stability. Why, you might ask? Well, you are gathering food in the safest possible location (right next to your TCs) and are set to use the big boost Rain provides anytime you need it. Also you save walking/shooting time on your vills. So, if you ask me I'd prefer the Rain variant.

Yes and No, Raining fast gives you faster food rate, avoids a farm transiaiton in the fast paced midgame and you can rain multiple times with multiple monuments giving you a crazy food boost early. Allowing you to sell wood and food for gold. The hunt variant is better becasue it saves you gold, so you can produce and tech more from your first migdol or barracks before you have to fight for a goldmine. You want to use the hunt variant if you are in a gold scarce matchup. E.G Set/isis playing agressive with ancestors on your 2nd goldmine. Hope that makes sense! Jollyman
