CLIMBING INTELLIGENCE AGENCY
We are Climbing's first line of defence.
As the world’s premier climbing intelligence agency, the work we do at CIA is vital to the sport of climbing.
We create, collect and analyze climbing intelligence and conduct open as well as covert action.
REWIND - The second coming
is two middle aged climbers', perhaps futile, attempt to get back to shape at the combined age of 100 years.
Our friend and Olympic level coach, Vladek Zumr, has accepted the challenge of coaching us.
Other friends in the climbing World will inspire and motivate us along the way.
Also, Friday beers with relevant people in the climbing World.
Athletes, coaches, doctors...
Who knows, maybe someone will be inspired...or maybe discouraged to ever train again?
Thomas and I, Björn, have both climbed since the early 1990s. Neither of us has ever been any good really, but lately it has got worse...and this is our way to try and turn things around.

Very underrated podcast for speed climbers to listen to!!!!
Thank you! 🙏🏻 Sam Watson is such an interesting guy!
Amazing podcast with the oldest climber
Great podcast with Mrcutloose
Thanks 🙏🏻
Excellent. Thanks
Decent interview 👌
Great interview
Great interview
I just found this channel but it's a shame it doesn't get more attention because it holds just as much information as any other climbing podcast.
At least they aren't popping Vicodin to get up the Dawn Wall lol
I love how this is the most under the radar podcast ever but you guys manage to get the best climbers time! Incredible they are willing to give their time for the love of talking about what they do and the sport.
It was really interesting to learn something about Sam and his style of training. Didn’t know that people can train for the olimpics by themselves. Thanks for this interview💞
Great interview. Great guy. I wish you a lot of good thing to in Olympic
Really nice interview! Sam is quite articulate and seems so level headed.
Wow
The story about free solo make me more nervous each time he tells it..
I became a fan of Magnus's channel around 4 years ago. What drew me to watch was that I felt he represented the passion of the sport well to a larger audience, and I enjoyed feeling like I was supporting a worthy ambassador. I know he has a ton of competitive drive, but honestly, I would be most interested in seeing him continue to compete against himself. I think it would be insanely cool for Magnus to take on an outdoor project around his previous limit (so, ~9a+). He could add credibility to his outdoor clothing brand and even make callouts to his Altitude courses as he would obviously be employing at least some of the techniques and tactics being taught therein. And, there's no pressure to send quickly. That's sometimes boring, anyway. The struggle is what keeps people engaged. Moreover, it's not like Magnus would have to move to Spain or wherever. In the age of replica training, he could do most of his training for the route in the comfort of his home base in Norway.
Cool interview, the Nalle-hoodie part at around 1:47:00 was hilarious
Great interview, thanks Magnus and the CIA. Didn't even need to tap his phone for this info, amazing.
Thanks!
As a long time Magnus fan who instantly watches all his videos it's funny to hear that his biggest struggle is ideation. It makes sense from a general public on youtube pov, but he has a ton of fans who will watch anything he puts out! Great interview, it was a great convo

The secret to sleeping is pistachios. This food has the most melatonin which the mitochondria utilize. I had the same sleeping problem as Magnus. One or two hand fulls a day solves that problem. I lived with poor sleep for over 5 years- cut off coffee too. Tried everything. Wim Hoff too. Melatonin is a major hormone of the pineal gland that acts as an antioxidant and a regulator of mitochondrial bioenergetic function. BTW, I can have 2 cups of expresso again. Hope this info works.
3:30 -- shoutout to The Crew 14c in Rifle! This is my hardest redpoint and thinking of Ramon onsighting this blows my mind.
Magnus should reach out to Will Tennyson and take him climbing for the first time! He’s an infamous bodybuilder UA-camr and I feel their charisma would match to make a great video.
so true and he knows the algorithm lol.
I saw Tom Cruise once when I was working as a ski instructor. I wasn't star struck. It was a bit different two years earlier when I walked right past Chris Sharma at his hometown gym. As I entered the locker room I came face-to-face with Chris on his way out. My eyes probably just about popped out of my head with surprise. Chris flashed me a warm smile and seemed to chuckle slightly as if to say "Yeah, I am who you think I am, but it's no big deal." He's a super chill guy who's legitimately kind and down-to-earth. I think Magnus should reach out to him about a collab with Jason Momoa. I think Chris and Jason are more or less climbers first and famous people second, whereas Tom Cruise is more of a famous person who happens to climb. Cruise is personable, though. He had like a five-minute conversation with one of the lift operators.
57:30 even more evidence of Stefano's theory that 6c is the hardest grade
Great interview, really enjoyed the conversation
Thank you Shawn! 🙏🏻

thanks for the intel
Brilliant interview!
Loved it🤗 Bring Janja!!!
I love the format.
Really interesting
Can you guys make this available on Google podcasts? Tried to find an RSS feed to add it for myself but couldn't find one
You can find it on Spotify. open.spotify.com/episode/16AW890mQ3DF7OVhqkQ4KN?si=WgWBLn31Sa-7aK2dMp3evg
When are you guys interviewing Janja Garnbret?! 😩🤗
Well...let's see
that would be awesome 🤩
Let’s gooo
Great interview thanks !
Regarding indoors vs outdoors Japanese climbers, I have it on good authority that sponsors stipulate no outdoor climbing or only a handful of days a year allowed for competitors. Apparently the notion is rampant that outdoor climbing is ultra dangerous. So if you're strong in Japan (like a zillion people there), you REALLY have to choose one or the other.
dang
DNA next? Felt like he hinted at it ☺️👌
Thanks for a good interview! Keep it up. Enjoyed hearing a bit more detail of project big 🤙
I love the way Adam said... It's just 8A Boulder Problem 😅😂. Great Work CIA!! Wanna see more Interviews!!
Yeah, just an 8A boulder after climbing a 9b, haha. Thank you! More interviews are coming up :)
It really would be so good to hear from Nalle. Any idea why he's so elusive these days? Just wanting peace and quiet or any grudge?
@@denislejeune9218 Don't be honest, I don't really know. I suppose he has had enough of the limelight... at least for now 🤷🏻♂️
@@C_I_A possibly, which i could understand. I run away from celebrity myself 🤣. I saw a few vids with him in Australia a few weeks back, so he's not completely disappeared.
@@denislejeune9218 Still out there bouldering. Recently he has spent a lot of time in Spain, and currently I think he's in Italy.
Said Belhaj, is this not the guy who claimed an ascent of "Action Directe" but was proven to be a liar??? What an ugly person. Good to know he is not seriously engaged in climbing any more...
Super interesting, thank you. Small suggestion : put the interviewee in the biggest square of the screen (sorry Bjorn :) )
Hi Jane! I totally get your point, and it's not as if we haven't tried, but the fact is we have no idea how... 🙈
@@C_I_A I don't know either... if it's zoom maybe make them the owner? Dunno.
@@dakiblabla We're using Skype, but we should definitely look into it. Quite annoying to not be able to see the one you're interviewing...
Great interview! Can't believe I only just found your channel, definitely gonna watch more, I was using this one already as a podcast while driving :D
Thanks! Happy to hear that! We'll try our best to keep 'em comin' !
Funny how the best interviews often go under the radar
She needs to control her "likes" 😆😆😆
Natalia is very easy to root for. Thanks.
Loved this interview!!!! Thank u for posting :)

Yes, it was true I tried bodybuilding (but mostly weight trained for other sports I did).
Colin acquitted himself honorably at Meiringen. Big respect
