I am glad they do. The imperfections are very minor easy fixes. I have worked with factory parts that were crap also.

I did the swap around 25 years ago, and it was a work truck then. I didn't want adapter plates this way looks more factory.

AMD repeatedly says its all their own tooling. Do you know if amd & dynacorn is the same product, but just labeled different? Im needing panels for my trucks
I know they have their own tooling , even GM tooling got wore out as time went on. I think Dynacorn has their own tooling. I'm pretty satisfied with this bedside. My brother just got a 76 hood that is pretty good too. I will be doing the bodywork on the bedside in the spring I'll do a video on that.

I am rebuilding (ground up) a 1978 Chevy Scottsdale K10. I love your videos. They give me great ideas of where I need to go and issues seen when building something that's not 100% stock. Very much appreciate the time you spent. MK

I dig the custom tailgate. And you have good views of how that tank mounts. Most of the videos are newer square bodies and the crossmembers look different compared to late 70's. 👍
Most people do the crossmembers a bit different, I put everything where they were on a Blazer.

Thats Funny but it really SUXXXXXXXX. Here's one for you. Driving home after work in Brooklyn heading to New Jersey in a 84 Toyota Pickup. Already past the Belt Parkway, Verrazano Bridge, Rte. 278 the Staten Island Expressway and onto the Goethals Bridge which goes into New Jersey. After coming off the Goethals Bridge, I had the sound of a rock in the tread of my 31" tires which I heard while driving on a smooth street into Elizabeth New Jersey. I pulled into a gas station to see what it was. You will never guess in a thousand years. It was a 6"-8" alternator bolt that pierced the tread of my tire and was still holding air. I changed to the spare when I got home but after a bolt that size blowing into the tire you know it couldn't be saved. Just a memory from 30 years ago so that alternator bolt cost me over $150. Your Not Alone, LOL.
My old Blazer on 33s picked up a 6" metal access cover in the road that had tar patch over it. I slammed into the bottom of the truck and left the tar patch on the tire. It took a half hour to get the tar patch off the tire to be able to drive it because it shook so bad.
Hey Buddy. Found your channel by reading comments from CrankAddict where he is doing a door rebuild on a '73 Blazer. I must say, the underside uf that tub looks "Fantastic"!!! I am a little older than both you and Cranky but I really have the itch for one of these K5's. The prices that they are going for on BAT and at Barrett and Mecum are nuts. If I could, the going rate at the time of this comment is $60K and up for a decently restored one. Some are over $100K. Thats Nuts!! So now I'm going on into your videos to see what I can learn. Who knows, maybe your close to me and will help me out should I run into any trouble. Sure looks and sounds like you know your way around these K5's. Thanks for the video. Subbed and Thumbed
A lot of those auction trucks are not that great either. I had a friend sell a 71 Blazer for 84k that really needed to come apart and be redone. I'm in my 50s so I'm not that young but I'm always learning new things about these trucks.
Awesome job, I have a 2007 - 13 Silverado, but I'm planning on making an electric retractable roof that folds down in the bed. Saw this truck with the roof off caught my attention. Interested in seeing more videos. But would definitely like the videos to be much longer. God bless

I have time to wait for the part, it's my business phone and use many times a day.
i have had to do this more times than i care to admit. never with a phone, but with drained solar cell batteries, or any other cell that was completely discharged & wont take a smart recharge. a good RC charger is worth having, especially if you have an alligator clamp connection. like a TB6B
A few times I have had smaller Lipo batteries that were just under the voltage the charger would not recognize them to charge them, so I slow charged them on my RC NICAD charger just enough to get the voltage up to use the correct Lipo charger.
I love how you're doing it on the sink so you can instantly dump it in there the moment it catches on fire for whatever reason.
water cannot stop lipo battery fire....

If it catches fire I can contain it to the stainless sink, it would still be a mess though. I also charge small lipos real slow, so it won't overheat and catch fire. RC batteries I charge outside, they are much bigger and can cause some damage.

I have a '68 Coupe DeVille that I put a suped up 500 in it and it sounds just like this. These Caddy big blocks have a very pleasant and unique sound to them. I love your stand idea!

Not 1 Baja bug. Let's face it, after you've a couple a dozen Manx buggies, u've seen'em all.
I like all buggies, but I am partial to my Ocelot pickup. It looks way different, and I use the bed all the time because I drive it daily in the good weather, also they only made 12 bodies so you won't see them all over. I just put it away for winter last week because they salted the roads. Mine is the blue pickup in the video.

I've done a few and with a good 74 windshield frame it can be done much faster but the one we had was toast so I tried a different way.
Are you going to reinforce the body? If so how?

No It's the original 1978 GMC frame that I removed all the brackets to make sure the rust was gone after sandblasting.

Did you radius the gear stack edge?
Yes that is what I did. I never heard of anyone else with this issue. I had the transaxle apart probably 40 times trying to get the gear mesh right, when I first got it it was 1.50 of shims and the pinion gear hit the carrier when I rotated it. Once the problem was figured I measured how much I moved the shaft in and removed that amount of shims then it went right together. I think it was .45 shims.

I do a bunch of local shows but not always in the buggy, I have a couple other cars I use also. I daily my buggy in the nice weather.
I converted my 90 too put shorter seats of a 90s truck that way it'll look like the real convertible square bodies with low back rest

If your convertible windshield frame is good it saves a lot of work just cutting the and welding the posts.

Me and the kid took the buggy and I think it was $25 but I'm not sure. It was a bit high but everything is these days.

I try and go there every year, great show! I am in a couple of the video frames, on my mobility scooter. I have been a VW / Dune buggy follower for years. Built 3 back in the day, wish I could find the photos of them.
I got there a bit late it was the first time in years. I would like to get a better camera for next year and maybe talk to a few buggy owners.

@@photogr4u I occasionally look at cameras so I can do a better job on my regular UA-cam stuff. I have 1 channel with mostly car building and 1 for wild ducks that I breed. I would also like to do hunting videos. So I haven't figured out what I really want and can afford.
@@kustombuilds538 Another camera to look at would be the Sony RX10 lV 20.1Mp, 24 to 600mm and 23.8 fps. I have this and love it, A little pricey but one heck of a camera. I use this for motor sports and wildlife a lot and keep it in my car most of the time. A lot easier than my DSLR and big lens to carry around.
