Red Reef Trail, St. George UT, Scenic Waterfalls and Rock. 4k
Переглядів 23811 місяців тому
Red Reef Trail in St. George is a easy ~1.1 mile hike one way ~2.2 mile hike out and back. The entire trip is treated with stunning views and relaxing waterfalls. The last section is a bit precarious but there isn't much to see past it so if you decide not to make the climb you aren't missing out on that much. This trip was taken late January when the weather was about 50 degrees.

Couldn't find a video or parts diagram on how to re-assemble my CVA wolf muzzle loader I took apart to clean. A little sick, sorry the constant throat clearing. Hopefully this helps.

3D printed magazine adapter A&K M249. Magazine fix
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 роки тому
The box mag that came with my new A&K M249 is basically garbage and half my M4 mags don't reliably feed in it. The problem, the best I figure, is both slop in the mag well and the metal nipple doesn't push the magazine release far enough. This is my solution, let me know what you think.

Issues and Problems with S&W M&P22 compact & Bodyguard 380. S&W quality control failing
Переглядів 8 тис.4 роки тому
Smith and Wesson seems to be having some issues lately. Either that or I'm just really unlucky. If I had to guess it could be they are rushing to meet the gun demand of 2020. I'll update to see how they want to go about fixing it. The Bodyguard 380 was partially fixed and the M&P22 compact I'm waiting on

USPSA "brain surgeon"

Took optima apart 5 years ago and finally put it back together today with your help! Add in your description that this also works for early model optimas. This helped me out so much!! Thanks man
Sounds really windy.
Thank you! Wooden dowel got me there 😁
100yds?
@@lazibayer yes
I took mine apart probably 15 years ago. Been told by every gun smith that it can’t be done without me buying a special tool… can’t wait to try this.. thanks!
Thanks so much man I have a question, I followed all the steps and when it’s completed the trigger is not wanting to reset? Any ideas?
The trigger doesn't reset as in when you pull the hammer back it doesn't catch/hold the hammer back?
@@robotmanx2009after assembly it locks back and fires, then the trigger goes dead and you have to manually reset each time- I thought it might be the small reset spring but not sure - thanks for the reply
@ the small spring that inserts into the trigger guard would be my guess.
@ good idea I’ll check that thanks man safe hunting
Thanks for the video
this video was saved me so much frustration and probably having to send it back to CVA. Thank you so much. Wish I could buy you a beer.
Well you saved my tail! I used a chunk of chainsaw file instead of a bolt. It popped right out no issues.
I made the mistake of taking my Wolf V1 apart, and this video saved me from sending it to CVA. Will never make that mistake again. Thanks!!
So glad i watched this video before i took my action apart. Any time i see pins and springs under tension in a blind spot im like, "nope". Brake cleaner it is lol. Ive been using birchwood casey gun scrubber with the little red straw. For as exposed as cva trigger assembly is to fouling, you would tging they would have made a better design like the seperate trigger assembly on tge old eclipse or something.
Which Gun is this for? I have a CVA Wolf but the trigger assembly does not look like this one. Mine has many more parts than this one.
Omg thank you so much. I am one those guys that has to break his gun all the way down. And I did it and went oooooh sh*t. Thank you
awesome video, thanks.
Always had the feeling aero coasted off of a fancy name and price tag for mid-low level products... this confirms it. Thank you!
Does anyone make a lighter spring kit for these?
Not that I'm aware of. I don't think you would want to though. I already get some failures to set off the cap with mine.
Well, I took mine apart for absolutely no reason, then realized I made a mistake. Thanks for this video, I'm sure I would still be struggling otherwise
You should have used some heavier match grade ammo. The 1/7 twist is optimized to stabilize 75-77gr projectiles.
only 7gr difference between 75gr and 69gr. The 69 gr shot the worst out of the groups. I believe I have tried some 75 gr in the past in the PSA, they didn't shoot that particularly well either.
Thanks man who would have thought so much headache not very user friendly is it
not friendly at all. Glad I could help
I had an aero precision Ar and depending on your rate of twist that will change it a lot. Mine liked 70 grain barnes and it would stack them. You don't have your upper set up right and more than likely shooting a lighter grain for that rate of twist.
1:7 twist. 68gr is only 2 gr away from 70. I've shot 75 gr (not shown in video) and it wasn't exceptional, seemed to shoot about as well as the 68gr.
@@robotmanx2009 A lot of that has to do with the particular upper as well, maybe the rounds you was using it didn't like them at all, you got to find the one it likes, mine loved the barnes the best. I could do a 5 shot group under an inch all day with that rifle.
Great instructions thanks
thank you for this video got one in shop that was taken apart and owner didn.t. remember how it came apart, if you do many of these let me know as I am making a slave pin for this and 2 are as easy to make as one, Thank you again
Glad the video was helpful. Thank you very much for the offer stranger but I only do mine every other year or so.
You're a champion mate!! I would've been stuffed with out this video. Thanks from NZ
I just bought this gun, I’m around 500 rounds through it. No problems with standard target ammo cci and (Remington gold bullet). However I’ve tried 2 different self defense loads and had failure to feed with the federal punch, and even worse, failure to eject (had to pry out the brass) almost every round. I bought this as a multi use gun that I could start carrying, but it seems I can’t use self defense loads. Frustrating. And I haven’t seen anything but positive reviews, so wanted to share
Man are you kidding me? Wtf you can plug the m4 loader straight instead of the box, you don't need any adapter 😂😂😂 Try it and you will realize how useless is this adapter 😅
Except that you can't, for a few reasons. A) The mag wells on these are junk, they don't feed worth crap in the 3 or so brands of mags I've tried B) The angle regular mags stick out sucks to operate anything other than on the bipod C) speed mags and auto mags work better in the vertical. I'm guessing you don't actually own one of these 🤣😆
@@robotmanx2009 i do own one of these since 12 years and anyway during the reload you don't keep it straight vertical with the loader at that weird angle, so the reload works perfectly if you know how to handle it. I personally think this adapter is just chunky and additional complication
I just got one and it dousnt take m4 mags , it dousent even click in Idk which one you got but mine is from a&k and this mfr cost like 400+ and wont even take a m4 mag + the box mag keeps jamming
I've been a gunsmith for 36 years. You helped me from pulling my hair out. Thanks, David
That sure is a nice range...😁 It's nice to have a place to stretch out..
20m (65') bullet drop? Nice shots.
Just saw this., good video. Looks like the PSA is a bit more accurate and no issues....... I believe your under gassing issue can probably be fixed with a lighter spring wt or lighter buffer wt. But you will be switching them out everytime if you keep using the same lower....just my 2 cents.....
Just put an aero upper on my old armalite lower. I’m having this under gassing issue (Rifle length gas system and rifle buffer). I put a geissele rifle buffer spring in. Hoping it fixes the issue. Glad I saw your comment though, I came here looking for it.
...I've never had an under gassed rifle, but have had over gassed ones.......I play around with the carbine length buffer weights and also Sprinco buffer springs. They have different powered springs...Hope all goes well.
This one came with an adjustable gas block. Its currently intentionally under gassed as I intend to shoot it suppressed more often than not. Prior to this video it was operating fine without a suppressor, I may need to open it up a click or two in the meantime.
Should’ve got the psa lower too.
Success!! Great video to get me started and alignment of springs, pins, etc.
Try a small piece of wood dowl to hold the trigger spring and trigger.
So (appears) different barrel lengths, and different gas system lengths? How is this a manufacturer comparison if the specs on both uppers, atleast length of barrels etc, aren't the same?
they have the same barrel length. I would find it dubious to claim different gas tube lengths would affect accuracy that much. perhaps someone has already tested that. It would be difficult and expensive to do a thorough test. I mean if we are scrutinizing the methodology closely these rifles have different muzzle devices as well.
Barrel length will affect accuracy, but the gas system does not. This is only an accuracy test, so having different length gas systems is not going to make a difference.
Print and parts would cost under 10 quid. But watch airsoft manufactures will start selling these at 50
Thanks for the amazing video!!! It was a lot of help! Btw a cut up golf tee works great as well for holding the trigger spring in place. In case you don’t bow hunt.
They sent me the site
Dude, thanks! Searched everywhere for a diagram and couldn’t find one, took a buddy’s apart. I did use a bolt for the trigger pin and it pushed out just fine. You’re a lifesaver, thanks again!
Great video man helped a lot
I always said I truthfully dont believe that Aero Precision is a higher quality rifle over a PSA. Ppl will swear that PSA is junk and Aero Precision is 1000 times better than PSA but, I dont believe that to be true. I think PSA gives you great bang for your buck and Aero Precision is actually overcharging for what you get from them. Just my opinion.
Having owned both brands, I agree. When I had problems with Aero Precision, customer service was disgraceful. Palmetto was great. Too hell with Aero.
I agree the psa delivers a lot for the price, I've been eyeing their psak. However, having used/handled 5 different aero uppers, and 3 psa uppers, the fit and finish is in my experience, seems better with the aero. I can't speak to the accuracy, bc all of them except one had red dots. I doubt there would really be a difference since they were all 1/7 twist 16" nitride barrels. Plus shooting for accuracy with an ar platform is just more difficult for most people, myself included. I'm curious to know who actually makes the non FN chf barrels for PSA.
@@xCS68PSA makes all of their own barrels in house now. I think they even do their own nitride salt baths. But I agree with the fit and finish, my Aero has absolutely ZERO wobble. On the PSA, it's pretty hard to tell, but mine does have a TINY bit of wobble. Aero uses ballistic advantage barrels, and they are supposed to be sub-MOA guaranteed with match grade ammo. They are also QPQ (quench, polish, quench) which is supposed to have longer life than chrome-lined barrels (but inferior heat resistance, so if you're constantly smoking the barrel out, then chrome-lining will last longer)
THANK YOU SO MUCH WHAT A PAIN!!!! You truly helped me out Big Time And I Appreciate it!!!! I used a Allen key for my makeshift pin. I got it going and wanted to say thanks.
glad it helped!
Done the same thing you did what a pain.
I like psa rifles more bang for your buck 💰
I would have to agree. I could have built an entire rifle (lower included) for the price of the barreled Aero upper.
Really informative and well put together. Your content is criminally underrated.
The video is much appreciated. I was one of those who took it apart without researching first. I’m working on a CVA hunter 7mm 08 for a friend. It’s exact trigger assembly to the model you were working on. Thanks again.
No problem, glad it helped
I'm assuming it would work but I have a few electric m4 drum mags and I like to run them on my 249 but they tend to be in the way and don't load well being at almost sideways. Would you think this would be strong enough to support a drum that holds 2000 rounds? My drums have a printed top to them as is so you can take the mag well part out and change it to a different platform, how hard would it be to print a curved extension that could be attached to the body of the drum.....think a m4 mag that makes a 90° curve.
I think this would be strong enough. The weak point might be the mag release. It wouldn't be terribly hard to make an extension that makes a 90 degree curve but getting the bb's to reliably feed might be hard as they have to fit through a curved channel. Basically the same concept as this adapter.
@@robotmanx2009 Could I buy this STL off of you? I have been having really annoying feed issues with my drums and would really like to add this to my SAW.
More reliable than the Buck Mark? That's a bold statement!
i may have a bad copy but my Buck Mark gets light strikes all the time.
@@robotmanx2009 I've been seeing nothing but good reviews on them.I thought they were like the gold standard in 22LR pistols. I currently have a Ruger SR22 but wanted to get something a little better.
@@nolagospeltracts8264 Mine is a bit older. Browning was nice enough to give me a new firing pin at no charge but that didn't help much. I probably just got a lemon.
You should see some of the guns they put out in the 80’s. Very poor quality
PSA has crap for QC
No problems with my PSA mid-length.
You have crap for an opinion.
Great info, I got a lemon. Just wanted to share an issue I had with a new S&W compact 22. Purchased new on 4/5/2022. Back to store for warranty repair 4/6/2022. Two issues, 1. pull trigger, pistol does not fire, hammer does not drop. Pull again does not fire, pull again and fires. Very intermittent. Removed slide and it looks like the trigger bar is glancing off of the sear, touches it but does not move it. 2. Second issue, much worse, sometimes when you pull the trigger the trigger bar moves the sear off of the hammer engagement slightly. Hammer does not drop, Pistol does not fire, but a light touch the trigger again and pistol fires. Appears to move the sear the rest of the way and drops the hammer firing the pistol. Very dangerous. Not sure what S&W will do, but we will see. If you buy one check it before you leave the store.
Know exactly what you're talking about, when you get the rear sight adjusted and set there's only about one full turn of the screw left before it falls out. That adjustment screw just needs to be longer, meanwhile I'll use some loctite and keep an eye on it.
