You Can’t Get It “Wrong” as a Yoga Teacher

It’s easy for self doubt to creep in when you have the intentions to help and not harm. In this video I talk about making peace with the fear of getting it wrong so that we can share our gifts with the world. Hurricane Season: The power was out for 2 days
Переглядів 4921 день тому
The power was out for 2 days and during that time I found myself bored. It made me appreciate being connected - to power (for the fan) and social media. It was also nice to be understimulated. In the time that the power was out I caught up on much needed rest. Overall, it felt great to be at home. Homeflowyoga.com

Beautiful video
Thank you Misty 💕

I am soothed. 😌
Yesss. That’s the power of water!

Stepping outside changes EVERYTHING. The garden is always inspiring. Seeds popping never gets old!! Trial and error… 🌱 rock on.
It really does Tori! Being out in nature is healing on so many different levels.
My nost favourite ❤
Yes, they're natures treat
Happy your power is back and here in Houston we had the same happen about a month 1/2 ago. We were without power for 9 days where I was and I reflected so much on how grateful I was for power.
9 days is insane! After day 2 I started to get a little restless. In the grand scheme of things we once lived without power but when you’re connected to a power grid daily you just get accustomed to it. I know I am. I’m happy you’re safe and back with power ❤
NOM! The soft transitions were so nice in this tutorial 🥗
Thank you Tori!
I want to go to there 💧
This was my first time it was so uplifting 🌿💧
222!
I needed to refresh myself on the number 2 meaning. ‘Balance, harmony, spiritual alignment’ 🌿🌿
I love that green mug and how it matches so well with the earth. The cherries make me scream from excitement! I haven’t had a real guava before just things flavored like it 😋 but I did buy red a dragonfruit to try this week! Thanks for sharing your harvest.
Thank you Tori. I hope you enjoy your dragonfruit 🐲 I wonder what’s behind the name of it?
Gorgeous style + gyal ➰
Thank you dear friend ❤️❤️

yes, greens will be a game changer!
Most definitely. The greens are essential 🌿
I understand about the weeds, lol. I find pulling them relaxing😌 I'm growing/harvesting callaloo, and a few other greens, scotch bonnet abd sweet peppers, tomatoes, goldenberries, canteloupe, basil, cucumber, zucchini etc....I need spinach too❤I'm planting what we eat and what I buy (overpriced and not organic 😒) at the grocery store so I WILL be planting all the things, lol...happy gardening sis!
You’re going to be grocery shopping in your garden #thatsthevibe! That’s exactly where I’m at, too. Why buy when I can grow? I hope you have a bountiful harvest 🌿
@@HomeFlowYoga yes, thank you so much....my wishes for you too🙏🏽
Helpful information, New friend here.
Thank you. I’m glad to connect over something so important, necessary & therapeutic - growing food!
How many
Sorry which part? How many of what?
'PromoSM'
Sis I would prune the most bottom older outer leaves .
Good idea! Because they already have the nutrients right? I think I am going to restart my okra again. I learned so much from this harvest.
😄👍😘

👁️🗨️Also, from a teachers perspective teaching repetitive movements are so convenient. Students become more familiar and may even start to see noticeable physical progress. 👁️🗨️I think it’s helpful for every teacher to have at least one part of the class be the same each and every time. It gives our students a sense of familiarity. 👁️🗨️ Practicing the same sequence is also a great way to get feedback from your body about how it feels from day to day. Like this comment if you read all the way ‘til the end. I appreciate you so much if you did 🧘🏾♀️
🌞Repetitive movements don’t have to be the same movements for years, either. It can look like doing the same sequence for a week, month, etc. 🌞yes variety is good so as not to OVERuse certain parts of the body but when I listen to my body I know when it’s time to switch up. 🌞 The Salutes to the Sun have been my favorite sequence lately. Once it’s memorized you can focus on your breath and going within. 🌞my website is launching soon visit HomeFlowYoga.com to be notified when.
In a world where there’s a lot going on lately I don’t want to think about new tasks. I’m appreciative of what is effective and works. Honestly my yoga practice is one place I don’t feel the desire to be super creative all the time. I don’t need variety. I need silence, slowness, low stimulation, repetition, consistency, the SAME jazz playlist that always works.
Naima is one of the most beautiful songs

I used to practice writing like this when I was in elementary school and it became my handwriting. 😅
🧘🏾♀️Practicing yoga can help regulate hormones. ➡️ When we move the body in different postures we physically press on and massage key glands throughout the body like the thyroid, pituitary, adrenals and lymphatic system. 💭 The massage, applied through the movements, releases built up pressure and allows fresh nutrients and blood to flow through after. ➕Also, yoga helps to relieve stress. Stress can also cause hormonal fluctuations which is why it’s important to have supportive practices like yoga that alleviate it. Thank you Tori!
Thank you for sharing. It's a needed reminder to care more about the quality of our steps.
You’re welcome. I appreciate you taking the time out to watch. The reminder to focus on the quality of my steps rather than the final destination was such a good reminder. It also gives me further permission to slow down.
@@HomeFlowYoga yes and the backdrop of island life is always a reminder for me too
@@TkeyahB definitely! I just watched a group of butterfly’s fly off in the wind and it really touched me. I thought to myself Wow, the little moments are miracles! This pace of life reminds me to really value the little things. In context of the quality of our steps it’s really the consistent small things that we do. Sending you love and blessings through this winter cycle + beyond.
@@HomeFlowYoga ooh that resonates. I’m always stopped in my tracks when butterflies and birds fly around and above me and I’m SO grateful to be still enough to even notice. Blessings up love
Thank you for such smooth sights + sounds for this flow. 🌺 Such a welcoming, nourishing sequence for rest.
Hi Tori, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for always sharing words of encouragement.
Im in this space right now 😊 Life is peaceful but im used to turmoil, and although I sometimes miss that feeling of craziness - I will work to find that sense of adventure in healthier ways and learn to embrace my peace. I am so grateful to be experiencing this stillness and I want to maintain it.
Wow I love how you said “find sense of adventure in healthier ways” that's exactly it. Maintaining peace is so important for our longevity as humans.
Omg this is awesome! I can't wait to play with this!
