Just getting started with UA-cam. Using it more as a place to store the memories from my travels. I've started it as a music video of my journeys, but have decided to do more vlog-type of movies from my journeys from this point forward. I'm still getting used to the whole editing thing. My background is more planted in Photography, which you can see some of my work on charleechay. I do enjoy making the movies, probably because they are of my travels, but let's see where this goes! Please leave any comments to help me along!
Exploring Shikoku Day 1 & 2
We're back! Finally, I was able to get back to Japan. This trip was planned out prior to COVID-19 and was put on a back burner until travel was available. At last, we were able to book our travel and make our way over to Shikoku.
That being said, we start with a crazy amount of delays! Our flight being canceled made things a little difficult as the timing for our rental car was going to be tight. JAL making it up to us by booking us on an ANA flight from LAX, we lost only about 18 hours.
Arriving in Takamatsu, we immediately picked up our car and started making our way around Kagawa and then over to Tokushima. This was the beginning of our journey across Shikoku.

Finishing up at the Gwangju National Museum [국립광주박물관], I made my way to my AirBnB. I was surprised to find out that it was in a high rise. Not to mention the bottom floor was businesses. I checked in, and started my laundry. Being that I was hungry, I ventured across the street to check out the mall and see what was available. I actually walked around for quite a bit not being able to decide wh...

On my way to the AirBnB I wanted to get one last thing done for the day. This was going to be Gwangju National Museum [국립광주박물관]. It was on the way, and according to Google Trips, you only needed to be there for 1.5 hours to see the whole place. I was really going in hopes for more information about the May 18 Massacre, but was satisfied to just learn the ancient history of the area. The museum ...
Soswaewon Garden [소쇄원]

Soswaewon Garden [소쇄원] is this cute overlooked garden in the Damyang area. With many gardens and parks surrounding it, I was intrigued to check out this location. To my surprise, it was designed very well, and greatly maintained. I enjoyed my time walking around, and felt that it was worth the 2000 won to get in. On a side note, I learned of a program that took US soldiers off base to explore t...
Slow City, Samjinae Village [삼지천 마을]

Slow City, Samjinae Village [삼지천 마을] is a random find that I just came across when I was doing research. It was the first slow city in all of Asia, and the idea slowly picked up. The idea originated from Italy, and is governed by Cittaslow. The idea is that the city has to slow it's way of life. Doing things by hand rather than using machines, embracing city spaces for life, or making sure that...
Jinu Ne House Noodles [진우네집국수]
Переглядів 43 місяці тому
So After going to Juknokwon (Bamboo Forest), it's advised to come down a little ways and go to the noodle street. This area is famous for the spicy noodles (Bibim Guksu [비빔국수]). and most of the restaurants serve the same thing on this road. It was in an interesting setting, and the noodles were delicious. Be warned it was VERY spicy, I don't know if it was a communication error, but I was defin...

Start of a new day and I'm on my way from Jeonju to Gwangju. Between the two cities is Juknokwon (Bamboo Forest) [죽녹원]. This magnificent site was under renovations when I was last there and some comedic episodes occur because of this. Regardless, this place is amazing and very well maintained. It's also very photogenic and peaceful! Follow me on X/IG: @charleechay

On my trip to try street food at Nambu Market [남부시장] from my hotel, I find out that it's closed. I should've visited the night before! Not wanting to waste the time I took to walk there on my last night I searched around and found a busy little restaurant. It was Jojeomrye Nammunpi Sundae [조점례남문피순대], and it was slapping! Going into the place and ordering the specialty, I leave highl...
Pungnammun Gate [풍남문]

Walking down the street from Gyeonggijeon Shrine [전주경기전], you run into Pungnammun Gate [풍남문]. This fancy gate (although under renovations while I was here) is interesting in the fact that they call it more by it's nickname of Pung, which so happens to be Jeonju's nickname. Nam meaning south and Mun meaning gate, finishes the name of the gate being Jeonju's Southern Gate. Follow me on IG/X: @cha...
Waengi Kongnamul Gukbap Restaurant [전주 왱이콩나물국밥]

Waking up early this day to the sound of heavy rain really put a damper on things. I was quite bummed that my full day in Jeonju was going to be washed away by the weather. Luckily, something great in the cold rainy weather is Waengi Kongnamul Gukbap Restaurant [전주 왱이콩나물국밥]. The beansprout soup here is amazing! Unlimited kimchi to go with it. It really hit the spot on a cold day!...

Crazy weather today in Jeonju, and I'm trying to make the most of if. Going to the famous Gyeonggijeon Shrine [전주경기전], I explore the various areas and learn about the processes that the Koreans follow for their dedications. Although the map leads you through a strange route, I was able to see the entire place, as well as all of the portraits that they have in the art museum in the back. Follow ...

Dinner for this night was at Hankook Jib [한국집], a famous restaurant in Jeonju. Jeonju is well known as the birthplace of bibimbap. This restaurant is one of the contenders of the place that invented the dish. Although reading the placemat at Hankook Jib they place themselves as famous for the sauces they make. I would say that it was delicious and I have already brought friends and family back ...

In a rare change of events I arrived at the hotel Sarangroo [사랑루] early! So here's the quick tour of the traditional Korean Ondol Hanok. This house was turned into a hotel, and although it's typically not my preferred place to stay it is inexpensive and a great place to just sleep at. The parking is difficult in the Jeonju area, but I was able to actually find parking nearby and it was just a l...

After closing down the Hyanggyo, I took a quick 10 minute drive over to Kim Gwang-Seok Street [김광석 다시그리기길]. This is a street dedicated to a singer who died prematurely. I wasn't a fan, but it doesn't mean that I can't enjoy the activities and dedications on the street. It was fun to walk down and see all the murals, photo areas, statues and more. As quick as the trip was, this will finish my ni...

After lunch I drove over to the famous Daegu Hyanggyo Confucian School [대구향교]. It was getting late so places were going to close, I also thought that it would be easier to get in and out. I was wrong, driving in was CRAZY! I was very narrow streets and finding parking was a chore. I got lucky in the end, but it was a scarier drive. As for the school, it was amazing and holds a lot of culture fo...

As an Armenian, thank you very much for taking interest in our culture 🇦🇲❤️
I think the word you’re looking for is “mural” for the graffiti art along the walls. They all look really nice
Nice video
Thanks for posting!
Hay, hi, I hope you are doing well. Your channel is amazing. But I think you need a YT expert to get more views and better rank on YT. Your channel is good. But you don't have the right setup to get more views. If you want, I can tell you for free what is wrong with your channel
Waste of time 😂

So many memories from your tour. Thank you
Our tour guide (in 1976) said people could not afford paintings for inside the house so they painted the outside

This is awesome! Im doing this next year for sure
The box is not sealed?
nope, it was only wrapped and felt like it came from overseas.
Reminds me of the day I was in Oberammergau for the Passion Play. Rained all day!
That's amazing (aside from the rain), IIRC that play only happens once every few years and is difficult to catch. Maybe one day I'll be able to go myself.
@@charleechay it's held once every 10 years (big production value) and runs from May to October. Next production is in 2030.
@@devinlong7478 Wow, 10 years! That is definitely hard to get to. 2030 though... maybe another trip to visit Germany is in the cards :)

Central control means when you enter a venue like a Korean ITZY concert, you lost control of your light ring. They connect to all of them via bluetooth, you can't turn it on or off, or change the mode. They own it for as long as you are in range of the central control unit. It's cool. They set them all to the same mode and color.. They can display colors that we can not choose ourselves when we have control of it. That's why all light rings in the videos from the Seoul shows were all the synced. Be sure to take at least one battery out of it when it's not being used, as bluetooth means it is always searching for the central control unit and the batteries will drain when not in use.
Wow! That's awesome. Thanks for the info. I'll have to try to see ITZY in concert in Korea sometime.😀
It's a light ring. It's officially called the light ring and LIKE ITZY it is unique.
Agreed! It is very unique. It makes sense that it's not called a light💡 stick, as it is the shape of a ring. I really love it as well. Thanks again for the info!
ITZY support earns you a view, a thumbs up and a thank you for sharing.
Beautiful country
Wow

Najac, brought back memories of a holiday there with my grandparents when i was a kid. Good times. Great video Sir ;)
Thank you! It's something that none of my friends ever spoke about, but when I found out about it, I really looked forward to going. I hope to go back in the future to get more photos and a little more hiking about.
@@charleechay We stayed at a site on the other side of the valley. For my young eyes to see the valley filled with cloud and the chateau floating upon it in the early morning sun..... well. Then it was time for a chap in a van to come round with fresh bread, followed by another with fruit. The camp had a pool but i much preferred going down to the river. Good times indeed. Travel safe Sir ;)
New friend here thank you 💖💖💖
Wooow very yummy momosan ramen noodles i love it this video thank for sharing 💖💖💖
Rocamadour is a stunning city on a cliff, dont miss to eat the cabecou goat cheese there
Nice! I loved it there. I need to go back :)
Another nice video from you. I liked it 👍🏻 Greetings and like your The Surprise?
How are things?~incredible recording~ see you later!Charlee~😊
Great video. Looks like an interesting place.
Thanks! It was worth going to and really informative.
I've been watching these videos of the UFO burger looks great. Thanks for the review.
Happy to help, please give it a shot if you have the opportunity 😀
I really appreciate your videos!! It's not very common to find such elaborate and sincere travel videos, especially not with great editing like this!! It is a wish of my friends and me to be able to travel the world so broadly, let alone to make videos about it so keep up the great work :') !!
The wife works at Costco so she wanted to try the latest ramen offer. Never heard of the brand before so we checked its online mission statement. Lot's of happy speak that is contradicted by the manufactured taste and ingredient list. It's amazing how the noodles capture the taste and texture of brown corrugated cardboard. The broth has the right look but is weak in comparison to Chef Morimoto's Tokyo Chicken momosan ramen. The only good thing were the eggs we added. Surprised Costco even stocked this. Overpriced and under delivered.
good lord. this is TERRIBLE. inspried my ASS. stay away !!!! ! ! the noodles were the best part. ZERO PORK FLAVOR.
This ramen is zero star. The noodle has no flavor. Get the Nongshim Tonkotsu Ramen Bowl (3.56 oz, 6-count) instead.
Thanks, I'll check it out.
I think Vienna is the finest baroque city Europe
Why not Austrian music
Terrible music
It is fun seeing your immediate reactions to the things.
It's why we filmed it! Thank you so much for the great gifting!
Just got one today. I'm going to add Bok Choy & fried egg. I need to get some ramen bowls and chop sticks.
Sounds delicious 🤤
Did you stab through the plastic seal on the cup or did you take your time to peel it off? It looked stabbable.
I peeled it off. I'm sure you could stab it if you wanted to though 😉
Came here for World Order... Thanks!
I only use my phones camera, and by habit i always touch the subject to up the focus. I’m surprised you didn’t know, but not surprised you aren’t used to it.
Glad I use it now :)
Haha funny story about the egg, I wonder if that was someone I know 😀
This was before I met you :) I haven't seen them in a while too though, as they have moved out of California :(
Hahaha star anus
Thanks! My Costco has these right now but the price had me rethinking whether I should get it or not !
It's worth a try... I would say at least 1 time :)
Wow. I had an ex that went to school in Oberammergau. I used to travel from California to see her, and as much as I do not miss my ex, I miss this town. This brought me to tears. Thank you for bringing back so many good memories. So many winter afternoons eating ice cream at the small shop out of spite. If I remember properly, the man that owns it dropped everything to follow his dream of having an ice cream shop. He always had a smile on his face.
Yeah, it's an awesome place :) Thanks for the comment
