Do those EMU test trains run every day? If so, where do they run from and where do they go?
About four of the EMU trains have been running in revenue service already, so you could go anywhere on the Caltrain line to see them alongside the remaining F40s!
Caltrain could give there old F40PHs to Metra for extra power

I have to wonder when does it stops being a model and starts being a proper railway....
It’s so small I don’t think it will be a proper railway, also with the fact it’s in the middle of a park.
How did you get such a big horn show?
I don’t really know 🤷♂️. But I think it was just a friendly crew, and they had low visibility going over the bridge.

This engine one of 2 that originally ran in Venice Beach Ca. early 1900s I think ..
I believe that their other locomotive did, the number 2!

You lucked out on seeing Our ALCOS running before the year ends since our new locomotive was getting its 92 inspection maintenance check. Our ALCOS will still be here for a few more years and we will run them when we need to use them
I keep telling all you rail fans out there we’re not getting rid of the ALCOS right now! They’re still here and running for the next few years. This being the prime example! Since I work at the wine train ya’ll need to chill and stop worrying 😂😂 I promise to let you guys know what will happen as time goes on and our new stuff will be arriving within 3-4 years.
The next time the Alco's do run, do you know if it will just be 70 and 72 again. Or does the locomotive 62 have a chance to run on the line again?
@@AGoldenStateRailfan it depends on what our shop guys tell us. We try to run 70/72 together as much as possible unless 1 of them is due for its inspection day or it’s having issues then 62 will run with one of them or by itself on the small train. We only ran our ALCOS before 2023 ended because we did 1864s 92 day inspection a little early so it’s ready to run for the new year

Nice video! Fun fact, the 920, 921, and 922 are all considered to be F40PH-3C locomotives and not F40PH-2C locomotives anymore. Thy had their designations changed when they got rebuilt by MK and had better HEP installed. It'll be interesting to see what locomotives take over when Electrification takes hold of the route.
