I used to have a video of Chris playing Lazy River on his guitar while sitting on the trunk of a car in the Vogue parking lot. It must have been like 1993. I really wish I had that video. Later I watched it over and over and figured out how to play it.

I was at this show. Saw mmw in nyc with Marc Ribot too. The latter was better.

Wow. At 54:22, on St. Thomas, Metheny is using what sounds like a distortion pedal. I don't think I've ever heard him use that tone. Fascinating. Great recording - thanks!

One of the BEST version of Porch, ever! Pure anger and caos...

30 years ago today. Amazing. My personal highlights were the Release opener, Satan's Bed, Blood, WMA, incredible version of Porch and Sonic Reducer. This show was probably the first PJ bootleg I ever downloaded and is still one of their best.

2hrs 15 min of pure sonic onslaught. When I listen to this so do my neighbors. Dave drove the train here. His intro to Why Go? is all the proof anyone needs as to why he was their best.

I remember this making the rounds in the tape trading days and people just freaking out over this set. I love MMW, and I love Phish, but I simply did not find Trey "worked" in this context and thus didn't get the fanfare. Then again, I was more of a fan of Notes from Underground era MMW, so there is that. Anyway, I knew he had some jazz chops based on his Bad Hat sets. But he simply didn't know how to fit into this music in 1995. I think after 1997, he probably would have had a better idea -- and did based on a 2000 set with MMW. Fun to hear this again all these years later though.

I just found out about this guy about 4 days ago from watching Randy shartenager in the house that never sleeps channel on UA-cam. And he mentioned this guy Tony Rice Tony Rice I never heard of them but thank you again Randy for introducing me to the legendary TONY RICE AND THE REST OF THE BAND JERRY ON DORO SO YOUNG.. I ACTUALLY SAW JERRY AND THE EARLS OF LEICESTER AND THAT KIND OF STARTED MY BLUEGRASS EDUCATION... NO I'M HOOKED
