Joline, your husband’s socks are great. I love your daughter’s slippers!! You have inspired me to try it. I will go to Stash and get some Berroco and the roving! The socks from summer lees sock club are so cute. I love your Christmas yarn, a lovely color. The weekend sock is great, never could I knit a pair in the weekend. I am working on the Hudson Ripple Hat. I am sure we got as much snow as you in Calgary, BUT we have a chinook this week and already the afternoon is warmer than it’s been for a while. I look forward to seeing all your socks finished. You are such a very good knitter, and your podcast is so calming.

I love your color work cuff socks, they’re beautiful. I subscribed to Summer Lee’s club but haven’t made any socks yet from the collection. I wanted to knit up some yarns that I had already put into cakes before starting anything else. I’m on my fourth pair of socks with one more to go, so almost ready to get started with the color work cuffs. I think I will start with the same pattern you did, I really like them. I enjoy seeing your knitted items and I love your soothing voice.

Hi Joline! The dryer balls are excellent, as is the cup cozy( I always have to ask at Starbucks for a sleeve - at least it would be sometime handy too). The ornaments are great. My mom crocheted ornaments back in the 90’s and she decorated them as well, glueing on little bows, holly and leaves and ribbons. They are the ornaments that I use every year, and they are gently packed away each year. Thanks for the ideas. Have a great day!

Great video! I might have missed this, but does this model of csm allow for short rows in order to turn a heel or make toes? Thanks!

You can do short rows but I have not done it.

  • @carollundergan837

That butterfly heel looks SOOOOO much quicker than a heel flap and gusset, and seems much easier than a short row heel. I bought the pattern, watched the video, and I'm going to try it for my next pair of socks. My only concern is the wearing of the heel - the heel flap and gusset is so sturdy because the heel flap is so thick, which I like. I wonder if doing the butterfly heel in all knit stitches (so a garter stitch instead of a stockinette one) would create a denser fabric. I might try doing swatches both ways to see (a) if it works and (b) if it creates a denser fabric.

Joline I love your podcasts, it’s relaxing and interesting. Blue is adorable! Don’t apologize for him. I love you crochet shawl and the pressed flowers kerchief is a beautiful gift. I want to make a granny stripe blanket too. I do have the Fairground sock pattern, and just working on the butterfly heel , I can’t get the purl side. I think I will rip it back and do the Heel flap and gusset. Yes, I do love visiting Stash as well. I just got a pattern by JST Designs, it’s the Hudson Ripple. It will be released Dec 1, for a knit along. I will watch for the one you mentioned. We are getting a lot of snow in Calgary, all day. Your daughter’s friends are lucky girls to get some hand knit socks. And just enjoy all your lovely knitting. Take care! I love you spelling that word, WALK!

Regia socks last for a very long time. I made a couple of pairs of socks with the Pairfect a few years ago- and it works okay for smaller feet. Even then I thought the solid colour for the toe started a little early. It’s not the best concept they ever had for sure. Recently I made some socks from their ‘Folkloric’ line- and they were just delightful.

I don’t think I will do much gift knitting, but I will make a pair of socks for my mom and my daughter in law for sure.
