Join me as I read classical literature from the public domain. Read along or just listen as I read. I will be exploring titles that I've never read but always wanted to. I apologize in advance for mispronunciations, but I will do my best. Suggestions for future books are always welcome. They must be available in the public domain so I won't have any copyright conflicts. Enjoy!

Thank you so much! I'm studying this book and honestly is so boring to just read it. You help me a lot on keeping track of where I am in the book.
Thank you
I see a air pollution, nothing else. Shame!
least favorite chapter what the hell
Since tiktok, reading books and concentrate has become really hard… thanks to this, I think i will be able to finish my book and do well job in my uni class❤❤ Dont stop❤
Thank you. I'm currently recording 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Hopefully, it will be uploaded before Christmas.
6:28 The word "hearth" is pronounced "harth", like "hearth".
Thank you. I'll remember that for future books. It's not the worst mispronunciation I've made. Names and foreign languages are my nemesis.
I love these readings, but this one is much much softer in volume.
Thank you. I'm still learning about the recording settings. I'm trying to learn more about consistency. I'll check future uploads for volume.
@@JimAW63 thankyou, I'm enjoying your readings immensely.
Amazing 👏👏
This has been super helpful, thank you
Something else adding to air pollution. Well done!!!
i don't understand the bit about bowing down to the torso of a landed proprietor....
I'm not sure I understand it either. I think it has to do with someone from a primitive culture in awe of what they see as a higher being, even if dead.
poor guy lost his leg
controlled burn yet you are spraying water on it?
Yes. They want the inside of the walls to burn faster than the outside so when it falls, it will fall into the building and not into the yard.

Another Jim Walker who is enchanted by the prose of Moby Dick. Your reading is fantastic.
writing this a few months after i read this for my school, thank you so much for this. i finished this back in April andyour voice became so soothing and familiar that it became nice to listen to these almost everyday. thank you so much, you're such a big help and idk what I would do without these videos :)) ps, love the wave sounds in the beginning and end, they're super relaxing !
Thank you so much. You have no idea how nice it is to hear. I've had to take a break from recording because of other priorities, but comments like this make me want to rearrange my schedule and start again. Thank you.
Great content!!
My favorite book

Wow thank you! You inspire me ❤️2️⃣❤️🫵🏽👶🏻
Wow! Great! How wonderful! Thank you for helping me with my summer school assignment!!!
Why do you pan the camera away right at the critical moment when the house collapses? Terrible.
I know. I hate that it happened that way. I also missed when they cut that pine tree down and let it fall on the fire.
Beautiful Fire 🔥🔥🔥
BIG shout out to that satellite TV dish for hangin' in there so long......before the 🔥burning 🔥house collapsed on it. 🔥🏆🏆🏆🏆🔥🔥
Wonder if those children being exposed to that . Will one day become pyromaniacs ?
More likely that they'll look into becoming firefighters

If you are to read it, learn it first and learn it well so, when the time comes to read it, you read it well. Sadly, this isn’t what this creator did. No pacing, no feeling, poor enunciation and, in the first paragraph alone, two missed words. Disappointing to say the least.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm learning as I go.
Aww, it's over. Now what? Ph! I just thought of the next in the series, Through the Looking Glass, how about that one next?
I was talking to my daughter. She said she LOVED Bram Stoker's Dracula. What do you think about alternating light and dark books? Through the Looking Glass is available, it will definitely go on my list.
@Jim Walker Honestly, I loved Bram Stokers Dracula, but sincerely, evil and dark powers should not be promoted anywhere, esp. nowadays when the world is so corrupted by Satan that there is nowhere to hide from it. Having said that, all my suggestions I offered before, scrap them. This channel I subscribed was bc Alice was my first literary character I ever loved, and Through The Looking Glass would be suitable, but it's your channel, you can do as you wish. If you choose to go w/ things of a dark nature like Bram's Dracula, I will have no choice but to unsubscribe. Not making any idle threats, I'm just sick and tired of this world going straight down the tube, and this channel afforded me that safe escape route. I look forward to your next video. Take care and God bless 🙌 🙏 ❤️
@@fullmoonmaiden777 All I'm doing is reading classical literature. I read Frankenstein, which I really enjoyed, but it was a tragedy. I thought I'd do something lighter with Alice. Homer's Odyssey is also a possibility or maybe Dostoyevsky. I want a little more experience before I try some of the challenging pronunciation. Before you unsub, consider simply skipping books you're not interested in hearing. I plan to read a wide variety and will likely circle back to something else you'll enjoy.
@Jim Walker wow, Homer's odyssey? Thats so cool. Maybe Jason and The Arganauts, Troy, etc. That is interesting. Never thought of those classics. I can do that, actually. Like I said, it's your baby, you can do as you please. I look forward to the next adventure. By the way, I love listening to your voice tell stories, its soothing; maybe some bedtime stories too? Like Oliver Twist, Little Women, Jane Eyre, etc.,?
@@fullmoonmaiden777 As long as it's in public domain it's fair game. There are thousands of books available. My goal when I started was to read some of the classics that I've never read before and share my journey. I hope you stick with me. I'll be taking a few days off to decide what to read and prepare the slides for the next book. I'm leaning heavily toward Wizard of Oz.
Thank you Jim for your wonderful storytelling. I look forward to the next chapter 🦋
Thank you.
@@JimAW63 Alice in Wonderland has always been my favorite literary character. Long live the Mad Hatter! 🎩
@@fullmoonmaiden777 I only have a couple more chapters. Any suggestions for what to read next? I'm thinking Wizard of Oz or Winnie the Pooh. As long as it's in public domain I can read it.
@Jim Walker How about something more daring like Elizabeth Tenant's ( might have gotten her last name wrong )Testament based on her upbringing before during and after the Great War ( WW1. This was made into a movie ). I've been reading that one off and on for a while now, and it's really good, but maybe it's not in the public donain? I don't know. Orher than that, there's really only war novels I enjoy reading like Sniper '44 or The Sniper ( i love sniper novels ), about a young German boy discovering his grandfather was a Sniper during the Second World War, a secret his grandpa kept hidden for most of his life until his grandson ðiscovered the truth. They're both fiction, of course, but probably also not in the public domain? Sorry, I have crap ideas for books, really. Maybe, The Hobbit? Lord of the Rings? The originals by J.R.R. Tolkien.
@Jim Walker I also thought of the original Star Wars trilogy as well as Anne of Green Gables. I loved that TV series w/ Megan Follows during the 'Eighties.
You have a beautiful home 😀
Thank you.
one of the best chapters! starbuck and ahabs interactions are always the best
Thank you!!
I would love to see a movie based on this book, but not as a monster movie. Do it as a tragic romance. Build the relationships with Victor's family, his dear friend, and his romance with Elizabeth so when they are taken from him it has an impact. The death of Henry hit me, but I wasn't as surprised by the death of Elizabeth. The creature told him it would happen, but he misunderstood what he meant when he said "I'll be with you on your wedding night." I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

The environmental impact of this burn is............
...negligible.
Which would have a less environmental impact? 1. Burn it down? 2. Use a big diesel engine bull dozer to level it. Than many diesel trucks to haul the remains to a landfill where the non-biodegradable materials will remain for a long time? Many times, burning something is more environmentally friendly that an enviro-natzi would think.
Almost like the fat man knew the wall would be falling that direction. Kinda surprised they didn't put a hose on the other side when it really started to go. That was a hot ass fire there. Especially once the roof fell in. Went really fast after that happened.
This is just watching someone's history of life being destroy . Fix the old houses up ,don't burn them .
If it was a historically significant building, I'd agree, but if the damage is too severe, repairs can be more costly than rebuilding. It's also possible that the owner has a plan for something else to be built there.
Some old houses is not repairable. They have so much wrong that it can't be fixed. I rather see it torn down if someone can't maintain it. Better than to see it rot every day until it eventually collapses anyways/
😃👍✌️
Good voice!
Thank you.
que desgracia gano el fuego
posting this here because I'm not sure if you'd see it on the older videos, but your playlist for Moby Dick has some random video for the last one and not your actual chapter 135 reading.
What video are you seeing? It looks ok here.
I found it. Thank you. I somehow missed chapter 101. I have no idea how that other video got added to the end.
Woah
i love your readings ! your voice is very soothing and you make this book a lot more digestable
Thank you. I appreciate that.
