It just feels so overwhelming because each different plant has their own rules and their own specific needs. I really appreciate you making this video, you have the most soothing voice! I hope I can find more engaging videos like this, my attention span isn't great but I was engaged the entire time. :)

I'd recommend taking beef calf's liver supplements rather than having to try and choke down vile liver. I'm still traumatized from my youth when my parents would make me and my sister eat it once a year.

Pumpkin and Squash are differnet words for the same botnaical plants. There are 3 main species that all squash/pumpkins fall into. C. Moschata, C. Maxima, and C. pepo. Some pumpkins will have the denser flesh like squash you describe (and some squash will have stringy flesh). Universal thing for what we usually call pumpkins is their thick rind which does help them store better.
Yes! Thank you for sharing this insight :)
@@mountainvalleyrefuge yw! I tried to pick a couple of heirloom varieties of different species. That way they don't cross pollinate and I can save the seeds and guarantee get the same plants the next year. Where I live C. Maxima seems to get hit really bad by squash vine borer pest, while C. Moschata and C. Pepo are almost immune.
Interesting about choosing different species so that they don’t cross pollinate for saving seeds. I grow so many, so we’d be at risk for cross pollination for sure unless we cover on flower after pollinating them ourself. What do you do for the species that are the same? Grow them apart from one another?
@mountainvalleyrefuge Right now i don't grow multiple of the same species. I just picked the couple I liked. I was doing Winter Luxury (and heirloom type of sugar pumpkin, C. Pepo) and Musque de Provence (larger ribbed squat pumpkin C. Moschata). You could probably grow same species types in beds that are separated, but im not sure how far apart you'd need to place them to reduce cross pollination. They seem to be insect pollinated. Bees love them, areas. Not sure how far if at all wind could cause pollination. You might try planting seeds anyway and see what neat hybrids come out. There's just no guarantee you'd get a high quality squash at the end. The nice thing about heirlooms is being able to save the seeds and guarantee grow the same plants again.
New place looks good. Happy New year
@@tommygun6075 thanks Tommy, same to you!!
I'm also trying to pack it in tea lol
😊
Thank you, I will ❤
Looks delicious! I'll give this a try. I notice you do not peel the skin off of the cubed pumpkin and squash before cooking. My mom always did and so I always do too. Does it interfere with the texture and taste of your soups?
Great question! Both are edible and I decide to include it or not based on the texture of the rind and what I’m making. For example, the texture of some large pumpkins are far too tough for my preference to include in a smooth pumpkin pie, but squashes often has a thin smooth rind (like the variety in this video), which would be fine for eating straight, cookies, pie or soups. Hope you give it a try, there’s some great vitamins and minerals in the skin also!!
🔴Electric kettles gives you early Alzheimer and cancer . Every time you boil water it cooks plastic and takes it to your brain and body . this kettles has hidden plastic parts on the inside and most of them are made of just solid plastic . After 1 year Chek your plastic kettle on the inside you will find it burned because plastic was cooked and went to your tea coffe .....
Oooo, then don’t use electric kettles for sure!
Nice garden. Always envious of those who have that space.
