Welcome to Australia cost of living just getting expensive! Aim to buy your own place not rent for foreseeable future.

If you’re white or European, American, UK, and have a skill, you have a chance to get a position near what you have experienced back home, if you have the same skills or even more but you’re a person of colour or a person that isn’t from Europe then you’re more likely to find work as a taxi driver or cleaner or labourer.

I love Sydney but I grew up in Country Victoria, so I'm used to the country lifestyle. So I'm going to be moving to a rural area near Albury NSW, later in the year.

I had worked with many migrants for a few years. We were working as cleaners in a shopping centre. A indian lady I was working with, i got to know well. We were cleaning amenities rooms/toilets, bathroom's. I asked her, what type of work she had been doing in India, she replied, she was a University Lecturer. I was shocked. I was curious and asked several others, some were from south America and Philippines and India many. They were all in high positions in their homeland Country. Still several tried everything to stay in Australia, doing almost most things, locals would not do in Australia. I did also meet some that realise, it's not really paradise and returned back home. Australia does not recognise many Countries Professional employment. I seen so many struggling, low income, trying to pay rent or even trying to find a rental property.

@travelandchange6680 there's a very good reason for that, over the years many so called highly educated immigrants have been exposed as frauds and worse...the standard of alot of the world's degrees is far below that of Australia. One example is Jayant Patel aka Dr death managed to kill 87 patients through incompetence, there are many more examples.

I always wonder if the hordes of poms which have moved/been sent to the other side of the planet would be so inclined if the country had its own national symbols (like every other country) such as head of state, flag national/memorial day, after all surely living in little england with sunshine their must be a sense of entitlement and superiority, many oi oi oi, anglo-aussies sure think so, particularly over indigenous Australians in their country...😁

100%, I think the truth is moving across to any country will always be hard so the video really explains why it isn’t all rainbows and sunshine but the journey, for us especially, is worth it for all the positives living here 🙂.

As a young family from the US looking at 189/190 visas, you definitely helped cover things that were on our mind which aren’t included in the working holiday videos (exactly like you said!). I’m a tradie and we’re definitely hoping it’s a permanent move. Thank you so much! We’ll keep an eye out for more videos.

Australia is a big country and there can be wide variances from place to place. Demand for skilled carpenters is extremely high at the moment, so if you find an employer you like you might want to talk to them about options for sponsorship under the 186 visa as well. You'll need a few additional bits of paper such as your White Card and you should do the Carpentry Skills Assessment through TRA. In terms of demand, the Brisbane-Gold Coast-Sunshine Coast region will be flat out well into the Olympics in 2032. Check out Seek for job options.

Hi! The boat trip was absolutely fine. The sea around there is fairly calm. However, with any boat journeys, we wouldn’t recommend taking it during storm or heavy rain.
