A Number One RB is someone i feel comfortable giving the ball to in any situation. First and 10, second and Medium, third and short, goal line, can Pass Block and can catch. However i do not think its smart to build your team around that guy. Durability will be an issue at that position. Which is where we find ourselves in todays NFL.

The thing about the Diggs thing that I don't understand is the idea that you might need a star player to step up big in the playoffs. I don't disagree with that necessarily. But did no one watch the last three years of playoffs with Diggs? He's been awful. Averaging under 50 yards per game, zero touchdowns. A brutal drop last year that no Bills fan will ever forget, and he blames the QB, like oh needed to be an inch shorter. And this is right after we watch Mike Evans make like 5 insane catches and almost single handedly keep the Bucs in the game against the Lions. AND he has arguably the league worst attitude on top of it all? This is the star we're going to be missing? What are we even talking about here?

The QB puts too much focus on getting the star WR the ball despite being outmanned, which leads to less success against good teams. A Superstar QB has the ability to spread the ball around and when he does the team is more successful. Not paying that Star WR money also helps get talent across the roster. Mahomes has won more Superbowls without Hill than with. Allen is 3-0, and looks like the MVP without Diggs, and the Bills won the bulk of their games last year when Diggs wasn't a main focal point of the game plan. Rodgers never made it to a Superbowl with Adams. WR by committee is a better approach for teams with Superstar QBs.

It's an older movie but the final scene in North Dallas Forty has some chills to it. Despite being a comedy, that scene is a splash of reality when an aging player realizes its over. I was a kid when I saw it but it really made me aware of the reality that most pro football players are finished by age 35. The way he goes off on management is great though.
