    Hi my braun silk epilator 5 was working properly. I was using it from half an hour. I turned it off for 2 minutes. But when I turned on it didn't started. How should I get to know if there is a problem in motor or in power supply plug clabe???

    • @cyclepil
      @cyclepil 2 місяці тому

      If it is a Silk Epil 5 without battery (like in the video) the problem can be in the head. Remove the head and see if it turns. If it’s not turning on, the problem is likely to be with the motor. Is is very rare to see a failing power chord. I did not found how to repair a failing motor so I’d suggest you buy a new Silk 5 (second hand for instance)

      Take a warm/hot shower before hand and be sure to exfoliate. Use a physical exfoliate like a rag or sponge of some sort. Avoid using any body products when you exfoliate so the hair won’t be slick when using the epilator afterwards. Also use a gentle exfoliate for the days afterwards to prevent further irritation

      Exfoliate the day before using an epilator. Make sure you're epilating with the direction of hair growth because it is far less painful and causes less irritation. Then go against the hair when there are barely any left. Try rinsing your face with a cream based facial cleanser at night if you have naturally oily skin. Finish with a non-comedogenic (non poor clogging) facial lotion liberally, like CeraVe.

    There is some VERY important issues when changing battery on the Epilator. When the Epilator is dismantled pay VERY GOOD attention of the polarity of the battery BEFORE you remove it from the Epilator. There is no polarity markings on the battery case, feel free to make a mark. The negative polarity towards the charging connector and the + positive polarity towards the chaving head. If you put in the battery reverse position, the Epilator will be DESTROYED and go up in smoke !!!. DO NOT DO THAT !!! Another thing is that the new battery must be discharged to 3volt before installation, for the electronics to reset to the correct empty battery level. After the assembly of the Epilator will not work before the charger has been connected, charged and disconnected. Good Luck.

    Hello. I was going to replace the battery and disassembled the epilator. Took the battery out and put it back in but it didn’t work. I thought maybe I got the battery polarity wrong, so put it in the other way round and a bit of smoke came out from somewhere on the circuit board. Nothing looks damaged visually. Any idea what this could have been?

    • @cyclepil
      @cyclepil 6 місяців тому

      Sadly the board must be severely damaged as the battery has been putted sideways. As the battery seems to be bronken, my best advice would be that you replace the whole body of the epilator.

      You have to pull the upper part pretty hard for the motor to go out because of the water seal. Same with the plastic part you have to push hard. Make sure you have the right spare battery for the Silk Flex, it is not the same one as other Silk Epil epilators.

      Thank you. I have used duct tape to get a better grip and could pull it out. The battery change was successful. Good Video!

    Hi I've got the Silk Epil Braun 9. While I was using it the light turned red and after some while it stopped to work and the light started to flash in the green colour. Now it is impossible to make it work again. Even if it is not attached to the electric power, it continues to flash. Do you think it could be a battery problem? Thank you for your help.

      Hi ! Have you been using it for more than 6 month / 1 year ?

    • @ilarialucarini1561
      @ilarialucarini1561 9 місяців тому

      @@cyclepil yes, more than one year without doubt. Now I noticed that also the green light stopped to flash. No signal if it's attached to the power

      @@ilarialucarini1561 The most likely reason is that the battery has run out of power because it has used up all its stored chemical energy. Replacing it will make the epilator functional again. Don't forget to clean the inside of the head too. Clogged gears drain the battery faster. (Tutorial on the channel)

      What part is broken ? Sad to hear. If you want to stay with Braun products i’ll recommend Silk Epil 7, easier to repair.

      I’ll still go with Silk Epil 7, easy repair, lots of spare parts available. I’ll soon post reviews of competitor models to find if alternatives are better.
