Dont get me wrong as i adore my American friends but as a teen my family moved from Canada to a small town in Maine but sometimes the questions i was asked were unbelievable. 2 that come to mind was when one guy asked me where i was originally from. I told him Ottawa and he asked me if that was in Montreal. Another guy asked me if we celebrated Christmas in Canada. I told we did but not on December 25th as we believed Jesus was born on a different day 😂

My prayers are with all the family and friends of these souls 😢

Too funny! Having spent a lot of time in the States, I know that the average American's knowledge of anything outside the USA is limited. But I really wonder how many people Rick had to go through to find people so ignorant of Canada. That comment by the American to call the two months of darkness the Montreal Canadiens was right on. I came across this by accident my dad died on Juno Beach landing and all I ever thought of was him and the sacrifice of him and his fellow comrades .But now I've seen all these special people losing they're lives for the same reason maybe not the Germans but others are taking they're place?When will they ever learn !I'm so sorry for the families of these people who were trying to do good in this world .May our God Bless then all and help bring them peace

My routine is to read their names every year out loud I can remember my own regiment but to respect and remember the folks I didn't know I speak all of their names. I hope in time I can remember everyone that sacrificed by name in Afghanistan.

These men and women are the best of us - and that country is not worth a single one of them.
