Sakaguchi will do much better if he stops trying to watch the sword. Watch the two men as they duel and you will see Sakaguchi's eyes locked on Seki Sensei's sword, the fastest moving thing on the field, and is missing all of the body's tells in his opponent by doing so. Meanwhile, Seki Sensei watches his opponent's body. There is a reason for that, and it is a reason that translates across all swordfighting.

when the teacher talks about using the system to also train the soldier mindset that is important too. As an ex-military, i discovered that mental toughness is more important than strength alone. i know many soldiers who even though they're fit but, their mind are weak. In the end, they get injured or do stupid things like suicide or awol.

I follow your videos even when I do not understand Japanese, please excuse me for that. This video fascinates me because I was very sure your WAVE technique would amplify the whip's power a lot. After watching, I would suggest you use a whip made from paracord instead of that material, it will be more pliant. I also recommend you attempt this in a bigger room or outside so you have more space to swing. Last of all, your companion in the red shirt is correct in the last part -he flicked the whip instead of slashing like a sword. If I may recommend watching videos of an American whip expert, Adam Winrich under his UA-cam name: AdamCWM. I hope you attempt this again, because I believe using your WAVE technique in the whip will be very impressive the next time.

The only thing I could think of using on the master would probably fail with his precision. Angle your sword at 45 degrees and lean forward as to dodge under an attack. Rush him with the sword slightly raised for defense, then when you catch the blade angle it towards him for a stab at the chest or arm. Maybe rotate out or throw his sword away with a swipe. With that short amount of time you either win or lose. No out waiting them in 1 minute. Especially for a novice like me against a master like him.

Very good. Doing such with a knife is most certainly more difficult than with a sword. One has less leverage. Plus the sori on a katana helps as well.

Seki sensei was pushing Sakaguchi back by extending his Ki energy from the tip of his sword, something my sensei showed me years ago. I was skeptical at first, but it definitely works. Asayama Ichiden Ryu is one of the Ryu ha that we study. Seki sensei is master of a branch of that school.
