    New sub here! I see that you are going to be at the Hershey Show from the content creator list! We will be there as well, out M&G is Friday. I once was camping at a place where someone had a CLass A with 7 big dogs! I thought how can you even enjoy that?? They were constantly walking a dog. lol. We have 2 dogs and they are always with us but they are not barkers. We have solar but not enough to run our AC. And we have been that person at the Cracker Barrel that pulled out the generator. It was 91 and raining at night. We had to run it for the AC. Safe travels! - Mike and Shelley

    Dang, the guitar music loop over-powers the woman who is giving us listeners a tour. She's very knowledgeable of the Shasta company's product line, yet listeners who do not have hearing impairment miss out on her advice. Maybe this recording can be redone at another time to replace this recording. What do you say, "Girl Camper?"

    Here is my review on Rock Island: I’m gonna start this off by this is the best place I’ve ever been, if you want to make memories, then this is the right place to go😀❤️. I made a review last year also so you can go check that out too 😀 Even though it’s a little bit of work getting up to rock Island because you have to take two boats from door county, which is sometimes super fun because you make a lot of memories on the boats. (ferry to Washington Island, and a Karri (pedestrian and pet only boat) but trust me it is worth it! when you get there, There is everything from campsites to taking a day trip up to the lighthouse. But you could also go to the lighthouse if you’re camping too. The beach is amazing. You will make so much memories on the beach. For me and my cousins it’s digging massive holes. But there’s this one area on the beach that makes so much memories, we like to call it the “washing machine” because of the rough waves I like to swim in a area, well once every year, this will be my ninth year going to Rock Island State Park in Wisconsin. Keep in mind I’m only 12 years old😅 our family calls that area the “washing machine” because the rough waves, but we like a nice challenge so we like to swim in there and climb on the dangerous rocks sometimes. this is probably my sixth year going to the washing machine. while camping you can have campfires and roast marshmallows then maybe you can take a trip up to the beach to look at the stars. There is this event happening soon by the boat house, they provide telescopes to see some planets! I will be definitely going to that! We do this thing with our family goes over to different campsites because our family has different campsites (3 different families)(cousins, Aunt, and my household) we switch off nights to do dinner! And my aunt always has a remote campsite so we have to hike a little bit, which is super fun! Some stuff we see on the way there and on the way back is bats and we think they are so cool! 🤤🦇🌮 We are about to go in less than a week!!! (4 days!) we are so excited!😀 I highly recommend coming here!!!😀

    Crappy Camper qualifications: Unnecessary outdoor lighting, outdoor entertainment ( tv's, radios, huge movie screens, etc), uncontrolled pets/irresponsible pet owners, talking loud on your cellphone, loud people/parties, people encroaching on my site, inappropriate black tank operations, parking outside of your specific spot, not observing quiet hours. I'll stop there. Bottom line: Be a responsible camper and be respectful and courteous to others.

    So, the topics today take me back to many lessons learned in Scouting and in family camping with my dad, who is an Eagle Scout. 1. Practice the Leave No Trace principles always. Teach them to your children. Leave a campsite better than you found it. EVERYONE participates in a "camp sweep" just before departure. (Camp sweep: the group spreads out evenly across the width of the site, starting at one end, and slowly walk to the other end, carefully looking for anything that does not belong. Give a reward for the person who finds the greatest number of items and cleans them up. 2. Practice good light etiquette. If we wanted everything to be lit up like daylight all night, we might as well just stay home. Aim lights down, use dim red lights after sundown and use only the minimum light necessary for safety. Be courteous of other campers who might be enjoying the night skies and/or stargazing.

    Is this going to be the Girl Camper version of Reddit's "AITA"? LOL! Actually, I've been a wee bit dismayed lately by people being critical of other's camping styles. We have to remember there is no wrong way to camp! (Unless it's rude and discourteous camping that affects your fellow campers)

      I think you would have a different option if you work as a camp host. We have, and this will be our last season. People have little to no consideration. For the other campers that are around. As a camp host, I have been yelled at. Call every name in the book. Threatened! All for asking campers to follow the posted rules. The attitude of the rules does not apply to me. And it's from old and young individuals. The other one is, I have been coming here for 15 years. With this mindset, they believe they own the place. And there for they are go to do as they please. So no, it's not a camping style. It's a lack of consideration for follow campers. And those of us who try and see that you have a great time camping.

    • @cwolfpack3
      @cwolfpack3 Місяць тому

      @@igowhereimtowed6839 If you read what I wrote, I 100% agree with you. Rudeness and selfish lack of consideration for others has no place in camping.

    Your going to nature for a reason. To get away from every day life. No sidewalk chalk!, I dont go camping to see stuff I see every day at home. We all need to stop making excuses for people that are lazy/inconsiderate and or just have general poor behavoir. What ever happened to common courtesy? Sometimes talking to your neighbor about an issue may work out, or, no matter how calm or practical you try to be can blow up in your face. It's a gamble and certainly a individual call, so take your chances one way or the other. Let's all try to be a little more courteous and make camping a better experience for all of us.

    Overlanding to me is like trying to relive the lives of settlers from the mid 19th century. Obviously you are using modern transportation, but you are still going places less traveled which would emulate the past terra firma. Everyone drives on highways but not very many actually try to drive where there are no highways.

It vanished in minutes, and I'm asked to do it again every meet up. Another favorite dish is good ol' meatloaf. It always turns out well and leftovers make great sandwiches.
