    HELP!!! My 252 won’t turn on, the red digital read outs flicker when i turn the switch on. If i spin the dials it flickers a little faster. Once or twice the fan turned on without anything being hot, (since it won’t run) Any ideas what it could be?? I purchased it new in 2008 as a hobby machine. Barely used at all since i tried to teach myself how to weld and seldom used it. Last time used was about 4 months ago. Thanks for your help, TJ

    Andy , I spoke with you at PRI about bubbles in my aluminum weld puddle that have been evident since my first Dynasty machine 300 ,700and 400 machines. This was never a problem with my syncrowaves or aerowaves also at higher frequencies my weld puddle was so smooth with the aerowave I could see the reflection up into my cone, all my weld puddles are not smooth during welding which has been a constant since my first dynasty back in 06. I currently have one tig machine a dynasty 400. I think my problem in hydrogen in the middle not the edges, could you share your settings with me and do you think the way the dynasty’s are driven can be a factor, could my electric power source be a problem (dirty power) I’m kind of grasping for straws here. Since 2006 I have try many different prep methods I have used literally thousands of pounds or different filler metal , every alloy multiple torches everything miller and anyone I have asked for advice has advised me to check. I never had this problem with my set freq. syncrowave and my first inverter based aerowaves. What do you think I should try. Thanks

    Andy, I am curious about the rationale for switching between the TIG and MIG processes when you were attaching the diagonal braces to the center cross bar. Thanks, enjoyed the video!

    • @RealGarageWithAndy
      @RealGarageWithAndy 10 місяців тому

      There are two reasons behind this rationale. MIG proves faster and simpler for connecting bars, while TIG excels in precision when dealing with bolt bosses, aside from plug weld holes. While you could opt for either method independently, the Multimatic 220 AC/DC's ability to seamlessly switch between both provides the flexibility to enjoy the best of both worlds.

    Is 2" higher than stock good for a t56 magnum trans? Also that extended cut off wheel looks helpful. What model/brand is that?

    • @RealGarageWithAndy
      @RealGarageWithAndy 11 місяців тому

      Hi David! Thanks for your question. The T56 is slightly more compact compared to the 4L80E, which generally shouldn't pose a problem, except in the area where the shifter housing, plate, and shifter pass through the tunnel. In this instance, you'll need to fabricate those components differently from what Andy did, as the 4L80E has a rearward slope, whereas the T56 maintains a relatively taller profile at that point. We highly recommend using the 3M Green Corps 4" x 1/32" thick cut-off wheels with part number 01994 for this task. They perform exceptionally well!

    I'm curious as to what size wire you are using for TIG. What would you recommend for 22 gauge?

    • @RealGarageWithAndy
      @RealGarageWithAndy 11 місяців тому

      Thanks for reaching out! Typically, it is not recommended to use a filler metal that is thicker than the base metal. However, in the case of silicon bronze, which has a lower melting point than steel, it is permissible to use a larger filler. When TIG welding 22-gauge materials, it can be challenging. One option is to use 0.035-inch MIG wire or explore the availability of 0.035-inch ER70S-2 filler from different manufacturers.

    I really think it would be a cunning move for Miller to retain ONE machine in their line-up that's a low budget, no screen, two dials, bulletproof 141-like Mig welder. WHY? Two reasons: Everyone in the industry is going fancy circuitboard-does everything plus your laundry welders. Just like some guys prefer an "inferior" 1967-1970 car over the fancy new computer controlled cars, some guys just want a simple hard to kill no frills welder. Second reason: If I have a welding project that can't be done in my shop, and I must take my welder to a buddies house, or other location; I'm then faced with Outlet Russian Roulette. I plug in a new circuitboard welder to an unfamiliar outlet, I could be frying my fancy welder in half a second. With my old 141 I never give it half a thought. The other Miller Only Idea that Miller can cash in on, is to create and sell a "Surge Protection" like device that plugs in between your welder and any outlet. It either protects the welder by correcting whatever is wrong with the faulty outlet, or gives you a red light and refuses juice to your welder, having detected a faulty outlet. This device would be protection insurance on your $2-3000 ($13,000) welder! What fool wouldnt buy one? Such a device is now needed with the new technology and easily cooked machines.

  • @w46try7
    @w46try7 Рік тому

    One more comment: I own that Miller Plasma Cutter, and it's good. My issue is that i have a 25 gallon air compressor that runs out of air too soon. Is there a minimum recommendation for an air compressor to use a plasma cutter and grinding tools? I hope I'm not looking at hiring an electrician to wire one in cuz a 240 volt model is too wimpy.
