INDIEGOGO LINK: www.indiegogo.com/projects/paramnesia-thriller-short-film#/
Hello! We are excited to announce that with the success of Frank Theodore's "The Hole" we are currently running a campaign for his next one!
A film about isolation, loneliness and fear, Paramnesia tells the story of Parker, a young man who feels so alone in this world that he has taken up creating his own world in his head. Harmless right? Unless the way he creates these new worlds is by breaking into people's homes that he has been stalking. Pretending that he lives there, that all the memories that have been made in those homes were made by him. This strange obsession that Parker has comes to a head when he is caught by John, one of the homeowners. This film asks What would you do to protect your family? What would you do to protect your life?
We can not do this without your help! Help us tell this story!

    This was simply fantastic ! I agree 100% that many of the shorts I see on here are far better than anything Hollywood and the streaming services have to offer. Making something this good yet still this short is like watching Rod Serling or Alfred Hitchcock. You totally knocked this outta the park ! This story and another short on here titled "The Chair" are the two best films I've seen this year. Definitely subscribing ! (Forgive me for mentioning the other short on here, but I think you'd enjoy it)

    Nifty concept but too many problems in the plot. Perhaps that’s what "the hole" is - a giant plot hole? If the dude went in the hole and entered the mirror universe, and the mirror universe was operating 6-8 hours behind the prime universe, how could they have the discussion over the corkscrew before the guy went into the hole the first time? The plot needs some major, major overhauling for this concept to work.

    • @frank__theodore
      @frank__theodore 3 місяці тому

      Appreciate you checking out the film. Sorry you feel like it doesn’t make sense though. The only thing I would say in defense of the script is it was never established how many hours behind the mirror universe is operating. So not sure where you got the 6-8 hours from? Either way, myself and the team appreciate you watching and taking the time to write a comment. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the next one more 👍🏼

      @@frank__theodore I was making a guess about the length of time based on the amount of time that appears to pass between with the guy shows up at the front door, goes through the whole greeting and subsequent discussion in the kitchen, the entire meal and after dinner time, then the stuff that takes place outside. It could have been only two to three hours, true, but it was definitely several hours, not just a few minutes. My point was that the two timelines had to be off by at least that much, causing it to not make sense that the guy has already come back through the hole before the events we’re seeing unfold in the film. The timelines just don’t make any sense to me. But the film was definitely fun to watch! (Sorry, I studied Narrative Strategies in film school back when I got my film degree 35 years ago, so I always think about how a plot is put together when I watch anything. Maybe that makes me overly critical. Take everything I’m saying with that in mind.)

    This was strange. He couldn't allow his friend to run into himself. When his wife ran into herself...he said it was bad. That painting on the wall was odd...it looked like a man falling inside a hole.

    I’m not even halfway through and I’ve lost interest. Scientists want us to believe there are other universes, but none of them can explain how come other versions of us haven’t already crossed over into our universe. I think it’s nonsense; there’s only one version of each human being and our world is all we have.

    • @shawndashno6022
      @shawndashno6022 4 місяці тому

      I can explain that easily. If each "world" is a mirror of our own, and each person a mirror of THEIR own, then HOW could they "crossover," if WE haven't managed it yet? Wouldn't ALL universes discover the ability to do so at the exact same time? Thereby mirroring all other universes? Unless we are suggesting that they aren't "Mirror's," and have drastic changes. Like allies losing WWII, etc. Well, that opens up quantum entanglement and causality. As well as the question of time, time dilation and "string theory." Now we're ready for a discussion. 😂😂 I'm no scientist, but I do find the overall idea fascinating. Not sure I believe it, but there are lot's of questions to be asked. 😂😂

    I think Ant is crazy and had this idea of some alternative hole (he had it planned on his notebook)... Then he tryed the hole with the kid, who died... and then the mother went to the hole to try to save the kid, and she returned angry about him killing the kid... and Ant killed the wife. And now he invited Jack to show him the hole... I think Ant has dual personality and jack is his other one. They are the same person. And Ant want jack to desappear... but he comes back ... Did I get it right? Like when jack tried to reach Ant and couldn't... they said WE have responsabilities now...

    I have questions: What would have happened if Jack met himself? What happened when Sarah met herself? Did they both go insane and kill each other? And why did Anthony not simply cover the hole rather than try to fill it in? Why did Jack not go back down the hole to his own dimension? Does the hole represent an unresolved issue in Anthony's psyche? Is it a literal "memory hole" down which he drops his problems? Were his wife and daughter going to leave him? If so, did Anthony "dispose" of them?

      @@frank__theodore You're welcome, and I realise you are still learning! Not everyone will love your work and like I said, there were many things to like about the film. For a first film it is very good. The main thing is the story itself (screenplay) it needs re-writes and maybe finding someone who can help in that regard would get it to the point where it is bulletproof. The main thing you've got is a pretty good sense of pacing and editing...and you've got the actor who played Jack, which elevates everything. My advice would be to find folks who are at his level. The other actor (although not bad) is not near the same level, and the unfortunate truth is that that brings the whole piece down slightly. Again, not putting it down just giving you my two cents. The same thing happened to me on one of my shorts and it was a lesson learned. Casting is key. Anyway, thanks for the response and I look forward to your future work.
