We ran the entire top half of the South Fork of the Payette in a day, 48.9 miles in total. A long day and a hell of a mission. I (a moron) left my helmet at the bottom and missed the first 9 miles while scrambling back to camp, so shout out Wes for the clean lines and the great footage. Insanely gorgeous, too. I tried my best on the rapid names. Altogether an incredibly good time with tha homie...

Let it be known that the rando eating it at 0:18 is in fact no rando at all, but me. The seal launch button on my controller wasn't working that day.
😂 the controller is tough sometimes
Thank you for sharing your video! I had to subscribe to your channel. I became the 337rd friend. Have a great day my friend ~❤🤗
Good video if you like watching dicking around in a kayak.
You're on a kayaking channel...
@@FORTRANWW Sorry. I saw a raft. A raft is that big thing that packs all you shit! Literally! But I guess this really a river maggot channel! I look forward to your reply!
@@matthowarth4498 what?
@@FORTRANWW Is that the best you can do?
What are you on about man?
Some of my favorite river on the planet right there. Not likely to be green clear water like that again (at runoff or after rains) for a long, long time after the fires up there this summer. The one you called "Little Surprise" is what most people call Alcatraz.
3.25' on the stick gauge, or the USGS online gauge?
Husum stick
@@FORTRANWW Thx. Would you happen to know exactly what day you ran this? Trying to learn the correlation between the stick and online gauge. Thx.

Man that was sick! Great lighting at Husum. The perfect way to start my wedding day 🤠
Congrats buddy! Love ya
You beast, Nick! Such a clean edit
Classic run. Once I swam out of my playboat at Husum and my bare foot touched the bottom under the falls, never will forget that
You may have forgotten this from your last swift water course but never Never NEVER go to rescue someone’s boat if it means you miss a sick boof like that

Always liked it a little higher 1800 a little less bony and still fun. Thanks for taking us along. 🤘🤙
Liked and Subscribed, thanks again from the mountains of Garden Valley Idaho!
Great video bro. You like the Code? I have a phantom and really not liking the smooth "edges". Unfortunately med rewinds aren't easy to come by around here lol
Thanks man! I love the Code, although I've always wanted the fairly soft edges to be just a tad sharper and less hidden away up on the underbelly of the boat. I'll probably switch to an Indra at some point just for the increased speed and more aggressive edges!
@FORTRANWW ya it just makes it way more responsive. I got use to a Antix, so going from that to the phantom, it's like driving a bus lol. I really want to try the indra though.
I like this video because it helps a ton
Great mashup. Such a sick week!
Happy birthday
I've said it before, I'll say it again. That guy rips
What a cracking looking river, I’m sure no two days will ever be the same on it. More line choices than you could poke a stick at 😊 Great video.
It might sound weird but if you lick the lens of your gopro then dunk it in the river, water wont bead up on it nearly as easily. Dane shared that trick on his channel and it works pretty dang well
Wow that water is absolutely MOVIN! Looks like a super fun trip!
great river vibe, well done
Appreciate it!
Rocking the single poggie! Nice!
Really good video but I don't understand why you had to euthanize the dog at the end
LMAO what the hell 😂😂😂😂
@@FORTRANWW Maybe I'm mistaking this for a Hell's Canyon video I saw
@@cameronfox4393 you are most certainly mistaken 😂
Do you write this guys script beforehand? Or do you have a mic in his ear telling him what to say?
Too much kayaking. Needs more floofs.
What are your camera settings? I’m shooting on the DJI action 4 in 4K 60 D-Log M with Rocksteady and I turn down the sharpening in-camera. I’m editing/Color- Grading in Davinci and exporting in ProRes 422 but I can’t seem to get the same quality when I upload to UA-cam. 🤷🏼♂️ not sure what I’m doing wrong lol.😂 Just not quite as crisp as yours
I shoot 4k30, standard color profiles in most cases. Turning the sharpening down is great, and removes a lot of the oversharpened GoPro "look" that you see commonplace in a lot of videos. I wouldn't personally worry about uploading a huge ProRes 422 file (not that I haven't done it), but more so that UA-cam is going to compress the everliving hell out of whatever you upload. In my opinion it's more important to specify a high encoding bitrate, especially with the amount of movement and fine detail present in action sports POV. If you can tell me which of my videos are uploaded in ProRes 422 (there is only one) then I will be impressed! UA-cam murders everything of a requisite quality down to whatever internal 4K codec they've developed, so I wouldn't worry too much about formatting. h.264 veryslow, high bitrates, and be sure your audio isn't being compressed, and the rest will figure itself out.
Well done. You'll have to show me down this summer
The only Wapah! was when he lost his paddle at the log. More Wapah!s
Wow that guy rips
that was boring all ez so
Sick edit! Hit me up on your way through Spokane next time!
thank you! will do!
This is definitely my favorite paddling channel. You ever come to montana or idaho? I wanna start bringing the big camera out and making some proper ww movies
I appreciate that a ton! Live in Idaho, travel around the PNW to paddle! Montana is definitely on the checklist. Just got a new mirrorless camera recently, going to be awesome to make content with!
@@FORTRANWW come out to bigfork for whitewater fest last weekend of may
We'll see what happens around that time! Might be in North Idaho running some stuff up then!
@FORTRANWW I'll be on the loch first week of June too!

Honest comment...I really like this channel
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoy the videos.
how long of a float it comes to be with that high flow? Wow
Honestly you zoom pretty hard at that high of a flow. We took our time going downriver and made it easily in 4 days!
Such a blast 🤘
One pogie? 😂
Scorch power 🔥
You should have Nick's POV more in hopes to hear more cackle laughs
It's so fun to edit and hear him losing his mind the whole time 😂
This is an awesome video guys. I really want to try creek boating like this (if that's what this is called). I'm 40 years old and very active. I have white water rafting experience and sea kayaking experience. I have always wanted to get into the rapids like this it just looks like so much fun. Do you have any good guide outfits up in your area there you recommend? I am smart enough to know this should never be done alone. I live over on the coast in Astoria. Thanks. Rad ass video.
I have two companies I'd recommend for three different purposes. If you just want to go on a guided rafting trip in the Columbia gorge, Wet Planet offers trips down the White Salmon. If you want an intro to kayaking class, Wet Planet also offers those. If you want white water rafting instruction to improve your rafting skills, Northwest Rafting Company offers both large class and private rowing instruction.
@@NickWright255 Thank you!
Sick. I have the Medium and I love it! What is your height/weight for the large?
Nick is something like 6'2" and 215?
Try 230, I'm fat now
Is that the scorch X?
Large Scorch
@@FORTRANWW Not the best boofing boat in the world, but it absolutely blows over or through anything in its path ;-)
@@brentwade9346 idk what large scorch you were paddling, shit boofs like a dream
@@NickWright255 You find the Large boof like a dream? I found it a bit on the heavy side...prefer how the Steeze boofs. Love it anyway, but your skills surely outclass mine as a newer boater.
I don't get leaving pogies on the paddle if you aren't even going to use them.
Thought my hands would be colder than they ended up. Just how she goes
