Just the Outtakes: Acceptable Inbreeding
We started out intending to discuss Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, but went off on a tangent before we were even sure if we'd done the cold open or not.
The release of episode itself is going to be a little delayed, so here's a preview!

Just the Outtakes: Comedy Venues and Toilets

Our DS9: Past Tense episode with special guest Adam Richard was almost entirely off on wild tangents the entire time, but this tangent of a tangent hit the cutting room floor. It was just one tangent too far!

With special guest Adam Richard on board, we set the digression emitters to maximum, and divert all power to the tangential thrusters. We mention Star Trek twice in this episode.

At the behest of a highly disorganised time traveller, Archer and T'Pol rush back in time in an emergency mission to ensure that nothing happens in 2004 Detroit, and succeed!

Set in the far distant time of (checks notes) the year 2000, we recount a heart-warming story of how one of Janeway’s ancestors was instrumental in getting a lonely old man to shut down an independent bookshop, give up his home and his dreams, and help a gutsy, heroic corporation to establish a company town. We got fan mail!

We opened our mail and we found ourselves inducted into socialism! Then it all goes horribly wrong because Mick opened his mouth.

In this episode of Voyager, The Doctor visits a farm, Harry sits in a chair, Janeway wears a suit, Tom explains feminism to a lady, and Kes skips school to watch soap operas.

Damo and Mick mark the milestone of reaching the first Star Trek movie by getting sidetracked even more than usual and end up discussing Lost, The X-Files, Superman comics, US late night TV, ship enthusiasts, touch typing, and more! There's more digression than you can poke a nuclear wessel at!

A black star flings the Enterprise back to 1969, where they snag an air force captain named Christopher, and get sultry with the computer. Naturally, Damo and Mick are gonna talk about it, in this episode with added hangovers! Klingon jokes, Shatner's fighting, getting the "jab", it's all entirely logical. Don't question it too much.

Is this what they call Toilet Humour? 😂
0 views? Let's fix that!
Thank you for your service
I've got the fate, of the heartburn 😅
Almost like it was meant to be 😅
Are you suggesting this is a predestination paradox? We hate those.
@@PrettyGrouse or that you convinced Kurtzman to have the series set place at the time the comedy festival takes place xD
Record the next one at an aquarium 😅
That's not a bad idea but I don't think we could pull it off in a reasonable time. 😁
@@PrettyGrouse got any friends called George and Gracie you can invite? 😅
Of course Kirk knows what a dark room is, and sure kids these days know too. Oh, wait... *that* kind of dark room! The developing kind 😂
First! Contact! No, that's still not right... Hailing frequencies open. Yes, that's better.
I have faith in you lads... faith of the heart.
We're not planning to bend or break any time soon!
@@PrettyGrouse carry on with your entertaining enterprise!
From what I understood, Discovery got the opportunity to refilm some stuff to wrap things up. Perhaps not a full season to wrap up, but at least it shouldn't end with a lot of things left hanging.

In the Marvel universe, it is explained that Asgardians are so old, and possess so much intelligence that they speak all known languages. It was later retconed in other stories that they actually speak a language called X'zelzi'ohr, or "all speak", which is naturally recognized by any listener as their native language.
I think you could get away with fudging things like that with some other species, but it's pushing it for the Ferengi, haha. There's no way their translators weren't built by the lowest bidding contactor.
Yay, another HMFJTP!
"Maybe Carl's just having fun with them" ohhh, so Carl is actually Q; that makes sense! 😂
From memory, there's some non-canon stuff suggesting that the Guardian was created by the Q really early on in their history, but it's never been formally locked down. Carl seems much more chill than any of the Q we've ever seen though.
Hey, you didn't even need the canola spray to finish the summoning 😂
A year down the line, how's the can opener holding up?
It's working just fine but I've only used it 3-4 times. I just don't seem to get things in cans these days.
@@BremenSaki and when you do, I guess chances are they have a working pull tab.
@@FiXato yep! It's like we perfected the can opener at the exact moment it became obsolete.
I love how he's pouring water into it with a kettle, when the outdoors hose is right there. 😅
Bacterial fossils are apparently actually a thing, with micropaleontology being a field of its own.
34:12 Riker's not adverse to putting his Number One on a First Contact reconnaissance. ;)
Let's boldly go where no human has gone before.
37:26 the final episode of Enterprise was Section 31 propaganda to fake Trip's death so he could go undercover.
What, you mean the SS Botany Bay isn't enough Australian representation? 😂
26:28 I don't think the Borg have had a proper origin story in TV and Film yet, but I believe it has been explored in Star Trek: Online.
Actually... You mentioning someone wearing a Red Shirt at 4:58, makes me think of Tom Scott, but I'd be surprised if he hasn't followed Star Trek. 😂
I gotta get a canopener like that
Kicking myself for not arranging some kind of affiliate marketing deal for this video.
EAT THE BEANS YOU COWARD
I am protecting my health as I have a show coming up and my co-star will beat me if I fail to attend. He's a right prick.
@@PrettyGrouse Ah, fuck that guy. He sounds like he sucks. EAT THE BEANS!
