I saw a matinee of Jagged Little Pill and I was so blown away by Lauren that I skipped another show I had to tickets for and went back that same night. I was alone and my seat mate (also single) was back for the second time, too. The video doesn’t come close to seeing this live (but this is still great).
IF ANYONE HAS OR KNOWS WHERE I CAN FIND THE OBC SLIME TUTORIAL PLS LET ME KNOW ILL PAY
The night I saw this, she got a standing ovation immediately after the song, mid-show. No recording can capture the electricity of it live, not even close.
Saw this for the first time yesterday I am heartbroken for so many reasons. I hate that I miss this entire production. When it was touring and when it was on Broadway. I also am consumed with every feeling that. I'm sure we are supposed to feel watching this. My voice in teacher actually wants me to learn this for auditions. I'm trapedacious.
Watch Lauren's hands!!
I dont know if I like this or the Ridley Jones theme song better! I'd like to hear her sing 4 Non Blondes Whats Up.
I'm personally not so much a fan of the squiggly hands in the second verse/chorus (perhaps it's a character trait that I'm not aware of as I haven't seen the whole show) but otherwise this performance is exceptional. The vocals are pure chefs kiss and the entire first section completely motionless is so captivating.
2:02 makes you oughta know hurt so much more
Uh.....yes.❤
I am her nephew
I am her nephew
OMG really? That's just so cool!! She was in Blue Bloods serie, a big fan!!
i think i watch this at least once a week
I saw this show in NYC right before covid. This song brought down the whole house.
I saw it soon after Covid close to when Broadway reopened. At the show I was at, Lauren's performance of You Oughta Know earned her a standing ovation from the entire audience. I have seen hundreds of Broadway shows and never have I experienced a standing ovation in the smack middle of the show. Was an unforgettable moment.
I loved your voice, your wonderful performance, and your control of the body language in your face. You are a great actrees. I watched your last TV show series.
Damn! That's good.
jesus christ
Lauren Patten is just terrific. Wish the music were a wee bit lower to let her voice feature best! :)
poise and power, beautiful
lauren is completely top tier omg
Hmmm the first dialogue was the best to me..
I really hope this musical gets released like Hamilton and Waitress did. wouldn’t be the same without the original cast though.
Who’s the last actor on this vid? Can you list them?
Lauren Patten is still Jo, but the last clip has Morgan Dudley as Frankie.
dont get me wrong i love this redition but the one by Jade McLeod on the current US Tour is so fucking amazing. Cant wait to see it again next month.
I was lucky to watch her live in NYC, all hell broke loose after her performance of "oughta know", the audience erupted in applause and cheers. I'd say that the standing ovation at the end of the show was 80% for her. I wish there were an official recording of her performance available online & from abroad !
It's available on spotify!
When I saw it she got a standing ovation after this song. She was spectacular
Same here! We were so incredibly fortunate to see Jagged Little Pill on Bdway, with Lauren Patten singing this number, before the Covid shut-down. Her performance was so fantastical that it would have been impossible for the audience NOT to stop the show with a standing ovation for this phenomenal singer!
I saw it in previews, so we had no idea what to expect. The entire audience leapt to our feet at the end of this song. It was thrilling.
Not me Floating around over a year later, still waiting and hoping for footage of Max McKennas performance of this to be uploaded because holy SH… I still think about it constantly! By far the most powerful theatre moment I have ever witnessed and it’s gotta be seen more people! So glad I was lucky enough to see them twice and that performance lives rent free in my head.
The next time someone asks me why I like musicals, I'll have one hand in my pocket reaching for this clip.
Oh👏my👏God👏 This is perfection!!!! Amazing!! ❤
That "Say-O-L" though
Why isn’t she touring with the musical anymore?
Jesus Christ the vibrato on the second round of the chorus damn near sent me to heaven
I think she might be a little mad
Patten's version of this for the TV special "We Will Be Back: Broadway Reunites" is the killer. She sings it on the streets of Midtown. I had it on DVR but then I moved and didn't know how to save it. It is electric. I hope someone posts it!
I come back like twice a day 💀
Wait I'm so confused what is the problem
Lauren Patten, who played Jo on Broadway, was a cis-woman (a cis-person is a person that identifies as their gender they got at birth). Jo was written as non-binary, meaning that they had to change many things in the script to make Jo just a normal female lesbian. Luckily for the tour, they casted Jade McLeod, who’s non-binary
Brilliant performance! Amazing interpretation.
Thank you for this! Just ushered at a tour stop and I missed the Disney Princess line but couldn’t find it anywhere!
at 3:41 you can tell Lauren is really having fun with it which I think is so cool because she's so in character and she's conveying Jo's rage so well but she's also being herself and having the time of her life doing so!
how there's not even a blink for the first two minutes...the commitment. I have chills.
saw jade on tour the other day, i was so overcome with emotion (in the best way) when they sang you oughta know, it’s officially my favorite show i’ve ever seen thanks to them
I saw this in person and yes this video is great but it’s even better in perosn! She unbelievably taltend one of the best things I’ve see on broadway
A KOALA TOO
I’ve seen jade twice now, and they were absolutely incredible both times and sang their heart out.
Nope.
Woah. It doesn’t get better than this.
Of fucking course, the bisexual character is a cheater. Bullshit.
Wow the ultimate bunny boiler
This honestly makes me so so sad... I love the music in the show, and have mixed emotions towards seeing it. The tour is coming to my city next fall, and my parents really want to go see it, and I love Alanis Morrisette and want to support her, but just do not understand how she, as a Canadian Female and human rights activist, would condone something like this. Does anyone know how much she was involved in this show? I am so conflicted 😟 I want to support a fellow Canadian artist, but not Trans erasure
Staging mad underwhelming tbh
Gem. Lauren Patten.
