Holy crap as soon as I seen this I remembered it all! Remember the school of rock?
An ice tray of frozen juice is a week's worth of after school snacks?
what was this characters name? i heard him say "timer" at the beginning, is that his name?
Timer the cheese guy.
Remember this when it first aired. I made something similar with frozen double strength koolaide, tongue depressors and dixie cups. This method struck me as somewhat lame.
Caaaaarefully poke the toothpicks!
Wow Memorygasm
I vaguely knew these ABC Saturday morning PSA's. To vaguely know these things just isn't good enough. It's important to improve your memory. 🌄
Didn't he shill for big-cheese?
Why is his name Timer?
Timer the cheese guy.
I can't figure out what Timer is. He's obviously not human. He's abt 3" tall, head & body all one, round, stick legs, long nose...what is that supposed to be?
He is a cheese, his full name is timer the cheese guy.
“Or whatever turns you on” 💀
Why is nobody talking about what he said,. "Whatever turns you on"
What timer meant will What mood you are in for to eat.
i seen this mf on a family guy episode
i genuely enjoyed this
“…or whatever turns you on.”
You'll have a fun time eating sunshine on a stick!
🖤🌻
Look, a wagon wheel. What the hell is your problem? I just smoked a whole bunch of crack.
Honeslty, i remember this PSA when Dexter's Laboratory did it
I was originally looking for the " Beans & Rice" PSA 'cause after 40+ yrs (51 now), that song still pops in my head whenever I pull out the old rice cooker. We tried the juice/cube /toothpick thing once with Tang and it kinda worked. All of the toothpicks slid out after a minute or two. I had a paper route, cut grass, and got a weekly allowance so I always had ice cream 🍦 money 💰. It was fun to try it though. Thanks to whoever posted this. Memory Lane is a fun street to vist!
Not a beans and rice PSA, but your comment brought this to mind. My spouse sings this all the time. ua-cam.com/video/r9VvlI6sHJw/v-deo.html
EHAT DID HE JUST SAYY 😱😱😱😭😭🤦♀️🤦♀️
Timer meant what mood you are in for.
What does "time for timer" even mean??? 🤔
I actually learned this trick from Dexter’s Laboratory.
We always fucked up the toothpicks every time we did it. We used tin foil first (which obviously didn't keep the toothpicks in) and when we used seran wrap, the toothpicks wouldn't stay. I gave up and ate the ice by hand lol
0:36 wtf
Even in the 70s the kid would be glued to his TV
I was actually a teenager back then
Turn me on woah calm down time for timer
What timer means was What mood you are in for.
This popsicle trick was shown on Dexter's Laboratory ua-cam.com/video/lf1YFo3o_Tw/v-deo.html
i remember i thought pomegranate juice was made up lol
i dont like that timer said "whatever turns you on"
Timer meant what mood you are in for.
Man, the Monarch is old.
We still talk about how angry my mom got when she woke up to a sticky orange juice floor
anyone else hearing the projector in your left speaker?
My childhood.
This was the greatest things on tv in the 80s
'70s :)
Does anyone think the kid in the commercial looks like jon from garfield but younger
It is because of this very commercial that for years I tortured my mom, and our ice trays, with all manner of popsicle experiments and failures, resulting in messes. I do think it's funny that the suggestion for being indoors with nothing to do is EAT. LOL. Just imagine being 7 years old in 1978, there were no video games, no internet, no movies, no VCRs, no cell phones, there was nothing. I survived on a steady diet of lego and Saturday morning cartoons, supplemented with my trusty 'Huffy' bike, and exploration of the woods, looking for a good place to build a tree fort... then I finally got a computer in 1982... now I'm a software developer, and have been for over 30 years...
I remeber making those and also remember them not working worth a flip
Didn't Dexter's Laboratory did a similar thing with frozen popsicles?
No, this is different.
time for timer
I haven’t thought about these PSA’s in years. Every Saturday morning throughout the ‘80’s you would see them on ABC. That and School House Rock..lol.
So many inside fam jokes with these: "Hanker for a hunka CHEEEESE!"
We used cherry Kool-Aid in the late-70s/early-80s.
Do you remember "Funny Face" drink? It was like Kool-aid :)
I used to love making homemade popsicles as a kid! 😁 (this particular psa was before my time, though, so I learned it from Dexter's Laboratory instead)
I remember this from VH1 I love the 80s
Okay so how is this a Psa? Also did he say at 0:39 "whatever turns you on"
He didn’t mean that sexually! 🤣
@@andrewtodaro2874 sounds like it tho
truth be told, i never imagined those 4 words to be any kind of innuendo. we really were clean back then :)
@@babygirl6789timer meant what mood you're in for.
omg... i had forgotten all about that... i remember trying this out after seeing the commercial for the thousandth time! only i used pepsi... it didn't turn out as well as i'd hoped! lol
Timer was a crackhead. Look it up, it's true.
@@tranzco1173 look, a wagon wheel! 😁😁😁
i love seen this old saturday psa this one is one of my favorites from my child hood
