Play this game with the sound turned down, and "Lone Wolf's Theme" from the Shogun Assassin soundtrack on loop. I say that as the initial level music always reminded me of that. Similar elements but Rastan is a much higher tempo. Nice one on this playthrough. Those rope swings were hellish when you're a kid and dropping limited money into the arcade machines, haha.

I always stayed at the top, this way is claustrophobic.

I was just as good, if not better. Use index and middle finger on the flap button and you can fly just like shadow lords.

the titanium running back was the Barry Sanders of the game

The Williams games were eargasmic with those sounds, even though the sounds themselves were used in multiple games. I remember back then wondering how the hell the sound engineers could create such noises with the technology at the time (early 80s). Many of these Joust noises are also in Robotron 2084, for example. I've even heard some of the sounds in their pinball games, IIRC.

I beat the game not only with Wulf, but also Rancid.

That fight with Mushashi has me wondering now... If a fighter with only one weapon "Thug, Leif, Lord Wulf, etc.) loses their weapon limb, and gets a Dizzy on their opponent, can they still do their "Instant Death" decapitation move? I'm thinking likely not since they don't have a weapon to use for the attack... But what do you think?
